Schultz spearheaded a pre vious fund drive to raise funds to send Willie three times for medical attention once to Chi cago for surgery which proved unsuccessful; twice to New York City, for the examination which led to scheduling the corneal transplant, and for preparatory surgery for the transplant. Of that fund some $230 re mained and has been added to the current fund. Soon, Willie's chance to see again will be in the hands of Dr. Ramon Casterveijo, a spec ialist in corneal transplants. Pulling for W7illie here will be his wife, Geraldlne, and children Willard Jr., 11; David, 8; Patty, 7; Susie, 5; Eddie, 4, and Janet six months. Schultz will take Willie to New York City help him register at the doctor's oifice and get set tled in a hotel to wait for the operation. The doctor has prom ised it will be soon after Willie arrives. If there are no delays, Schultz plans to : sty f or j,he operation. ' - Mrs. Simons will go to New York City to accompany her hutband home when his con valescent period is over. She went there with him pre viously but couldn't this time because four of their youngsters are in school. Willie expects to have to be hospitalized three weeks after the transplant. He doesn't know how long afterward it will be before he knows whether is was successful. The three weeks would seem an eternity to most people. Willie has already waited nine years. ' PAGE SLVi-W -Camp Fire (Continued From Page One) Thirty four cents is contri buted toward maintaining Camp Harriet Harding at Louisville, where each Plattsmouth Blue Bird and Camp Fire girl is elig ible to attend, an overnight camping trip. Last year's at tendance to this was nearly 100 per cent. One cent goes to the Omaha Council of Camp Fire Girls for administration of its nine dis tricts, including Plattsmouth. Much of the expense of Plattsmouth's summer Day Camp, Including all of the Di rector's salary, Is paid by the Omaha Council. Throughout the year, the Council provides personnel for training of our' local leaders, programs, and camp activities. Davies. A County Court - appointed board of appraisers had assess ed damages for 2.22 acres of right-of-way taken and access limited by improvement of State Highway 50 in the amount of $1,636.30 in June, 1958. The State appealed, declaring $835 damages sufficient. Mr. and Mrs. Davies asked $3,600 in their answer. " K The appeal was tried Monday and Tuesday. The jury got the case at 11 a.m.-and returned its verdict at 2:40 p.m. Cecil C. Fosberg was jury foreman. Others on the jury were Mrs. Ruth Ramge, Geo. C. Stander, Bill Schmader, Mrs. Marian E.
