Wash and Wear Rayons Wash and Wear Rayons Something to look lorward to In the fabric department will be a wash and wear rayon. The ray on fabrics will be produced and marketed under the "Everglaze" and "Ban Care" trademark. The new process makes pos sible the' production of no-iron rayon fabrics and garments with wash and wear qualities. Now rayon garments can be washed and dried by any nor mal method, at home or in a commercial laundry, and em erge soft, smooth, fresh, com pletely wrinkle free and ready for wear. This process puts an end tolhe limp, shapless, mussy look normally associated with rayons after laundering. Independent laboratory tests show that wash and wear prop erties and demensional stability are consistently maintained af ter as many as fifty commercial launderings. Since the process is non-resinous, there are no problems with damage or discoloration from chlorine and garments have a durable resistance to perspira tion, mildew, and bacterial dam age. These rayons have an al most complete lack of linting. This latter finish is especially important for uniforms, worn in hospitals and laboratories where an accumulation of lint creates health and safety hazards. Production of these new rayons is now underway at the Bancroft plant, so it should appear in the stores before long Martha West.
