The wind blew a chimney down from the main part of the house onto the roof of the kit chen annex. The roof was badly damaged and there was also rain damage Inside the kitchen. GIBSON Refrigerators, Freeiers & Electric Ranges. 5th & MAIN PHONE 233 Portsmouth Lady Asks For $50,000 Damages Suit asking $50,000 damage was filed in the district court of Sarpy county the past week by Mrs. Charlotte Gall of this city against Mrs. Harriett O'Brien of Papillion and the Gunnison Contractors, Inc., The lawsuit follows a col lision at the intersection of highway 270 and 75 on May 10, 1U60. Mrs. O'Brien was named as the driver of a vehicle that collided with the Gall car. The Gunnison firm was charged in the petition with moving a stop sicn from the northwest to northeast corner of the intersec tion and for obsrtucting view of the stop sign with building mat erial. The Gunnison corporation 3s buliding sewer lines for the Eastern Sarpy Sanitary Sewer District. KEEP IN TOUCH Mr. and Mrs. Glen McClure spent their vacation at Colorado Springs and in New Mexico, Wyoming, and Kansas. They al so visited Mr. and Mrs. David Wolf and family in Lexington, Neb. He is a brother of Mrs. Mc Clure. They returned home Monday. 2-Car Accident Friday Near WW A vehicle-car accident occur red at 2:10 p.m. Friday three miles north of Weeping Water. A utility truck driven by Scott Beadle of Louisville went throu gh a stop sign and was struck by a car driven by George Schmad er of Weeping Water, the acci dent report said. It was an in tersection accident. Mrs. Myrtle Schmader of Weeping .Water was taken to Nebraska City Hospital with chest and leg injuries. The Beadle truck was south boun das it entered the intersec tion, according to Deputy Sher iff Joe Kruntorad who investigated. 15,000 to 20,000 Visit- County Sunday Upward of 15,000 or 20,000 vis itors were estimated in Cass County Sunday to beat the heat. Sheriff Tom Solomon said there was a marked difference in people's deportment. No fights was reported and no illic it party was found. The names of six Omaha youths were taken at 1 a.m. Sunday after they crossed a fence to a locked up area. The owner of the lake had sumomned the sheriff. Alvin Ramge of south of this city, who had been a patient at St. Mary's hospital at Nebraska City, has been dismissed and re turned home Wednsday. Mr. Ramge was not suffering from a stroke it was discovered at the hospital, but had suffered the fracture of a bone In one of his feet. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Terryberry of Louisville, Mike and Angela Smith of Murdock visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harms Wednesday. JjOULAvlIfa Mm. Ralph Wildrick County 4-H'ers At Conservation Camp at Chadron Early Sunday morning, 4:30 a.m. to be exact two carloads of Cass County 4-Her's departed for Chadron. The destination of the trip was the Chadron State Park, where they are attending 4-H Conser vation Camp. Most of the group are mem bers of the Tractor Savers 4-H Club of Plattsmouth. Lyle Sparks and Frank Bierl are the club's leaders. This club was ranked as one of the 2 top 4-H Conservation Clubs in Nebraska in 1959. Members of the Tractor Sav ers attending are, Ted and Steve Wehrbein, Gene and Wel don Stoehr, Tom Gregg, Tom Sullivan and Jim Ingwerson. Robert Engelkemier of Louis ville is another trip winner. Sandra Stapert of Nehawka will represent the fairer sex for Cass County. The group is accompanied by County Agent Clarence Schmad eke and will return home June 23. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grado- ville were in Omaha Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wolff, formerly of this city. Mr. Wolff is recovering from the ef fects of a stroke. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rohlfs of Los Angeles Is here to en joy a visit at the home of the parents of Doug, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rohlfs. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kelly of South Bend were Saturday evening visitors at the Henry Thiele home. Sunday afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. El mer Stoll and Mrs. George Dickman. Mr. and Mrs. G rover Cundall, Sr., Miss Janet Campbell, Lar ry Cundall and Brad Cundall, were at Sutton Sunday to visit at the Cundall home, where the father of Grover Cundall, Sr., is quite ill. Kevin Case, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Case, enjoyed a cele bration of his eighth birthday Thursday at the home of his parents, with a dinner party. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Har old Lebens and family. Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Gradoville were in Omaha Sat urday to attend the wedding of Philip Gradoville, nephew or Mr. Gradoville, at Our Lady of Loures church. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Volkart and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Duncan were called to Chamois, Mo., on Thursday by the death of Mrs. Volkhant and Mrs. Duncan's father, E. W. Nichols. The father had been in failing halth for some time. Mrs. John Bogard and Mrs. Marion Biggs, Jr., and Mary went to Lincoln Tuesday to help Mary get settled for her three weeks at the Fine Arts Festival Mrs. Jim Kritenbrink, Jim mie and Melody Sue of Spring field srjent Friday with her mother, Mrs. Elwood Leroy in Manley. Jimmie remained over night with his grandparents. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brand were Mr. and Mrs. Hans Aschbacher of Louisville. Mrs. Goldie Robblns of Platts mouth has been visiting the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Robbins, Sr. and Judy. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Puis, Frank and Ralph visited Sun day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin and daughters near Murray . Mrs. Harry Ahl entered the Methodist hospital in Omaha Tuesday for a check-up. Frank Puis attended the 4-H Club week in Lincoln the past week. Mary Lou Meyer moved from Syracuse to Manley last week and is living with her mother, Mrs. Mary Meyer and family, he will continue to work in Syr acuse and commute each day. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Isaac and sons, and Terry Meyer and Ray mond Sluyter visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Erhart and Larry Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Koop attended the Chamber of Com merce dinner held in Omaha Wednesday. Thursday callers of Mrs. Anna Harms were Willard Brehn nad son, James of Talmage. Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bogard were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bogard of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Vaden Loper and Rodney of Plattsmouth and Mrs. John Bressman and Marg aret Ann of Bellevue were Sun day dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sell and daughters. Kevin Robert Altenbach. three year old son of TSgt. and Mrs. Robert Altenbach, is due home from the Children's hospital at Omaha today. He is a victim of hemophilia. He is much improved. He has been there since Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Tony La Hoda and Mr. and Mrs. Louis LaHoda of Omaha, returned home Fri day evening after a very de lightful outing spent at Sun Rise Resort on Dead Lake at Rich ville, Minnesota. They report a fine catch of fish. Mrs. James L. Pitttman had been with her mother, Mrs. Marry Smith at Nevada, Iowa, prior to her death on June 13, at 4:09 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Pitt man and Rebecca returned Thursday afternoon from Atlan tic, Iowa, where funeral services were held.
