Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ileil Jr., of Omaha were in town Saturday looking for a house or an apart ment to rent. Paul works at the Western Electric and would like to live in Louisville instead of Omaha. Paul Jr., is the son of the late Paul Heil, former Louis ville residents. Rev. Donald Webster of Ash land spoke at the Lenten sup per, Wednesday evening, March 23rd at the First Methodist church in Louisville. Choir prac tice and Wesleyan Service Guild followed the supper. The Rev. and Mrs. Ray Han kins of Ar lington were guests at the sup per last Wednesday evening. Because of the snow they had been unable to attend the week before. " . , Three pupils of Mrs. Harold Hlavac, Jim, Carl and Charles Leddy, were forced to spend last Tuesday evening at her home due to the bad weather. Mrs. Hlavac teaches at the Dutch Academy school. They were here to attend the wedding of their son on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Heim and Joel were Wednesday eve ning supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Group. Mrs. Edward Grell and Terry were Tuesday morning callers of Mrs. Earl Beck and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hauschfld, Betty and Billy of Manley were Saturday evening supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Hauschild and family in Ashland. Mrs. Frarijc Pace, Mr. and Mrs. DRUGSI Joe Cloehan, Judy and Margie Kay of Weeping Water, Mrs. Francis Ritter and sons and Joan Scott of Papillion attended the open house honoring Mrs. Mary Baughman on her 96th birthday on Sunday at her home in Omaha. Mrs. Baughman is the mother of Mrs. Frank Pace. Sunday afternoon visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gauer were Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Norris of Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Headley entertained their sons and wives at a dinner Sunday. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Headley and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Headley all of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Dwlght Headley and sons of Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beck and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Salberg and Kurt were Sunday dinner guests at the Walter Sal berg home. Mrs. Dwane Garrison and Mrs. A. C. Gerdes brought Mr. Gerdes home from the Clarkson hos pital in Omaha Sunday. Mrs. John Bogard spent a few days last week with her mother, Nancy Gauer spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gauer and Linda. Rhonda Ahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ahl of Spring field, stayed with her grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe H o n, while her parents, took the girls volleyball team of Springfield to Peru to attend the tournament for two days. Mr. Ahl is a teach er in the Springfield school and Is also coach of the girls' volley ball team. Sunday dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Per singer of Cedar Creek was Miss Marlene Jordan of Omaha. The new baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lau on March 14 has been named Charles Allan and weighed sev en pounds and nine ounces. Mrs. Lau and baby returned home Saturday from the hospital,, The Cass County Extension Council meeting was held at Weeping Water on Tuesday, March 22, after having been postponed because of the weather. The executive board met prior to the regular meet ing. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sheehan and children visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. El win Isaac. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sprague of Omaha were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Sprague's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gess. They celebrated their first wedding anniversary. While here they also called on Mrs. Sprague's grandmother, Mrs,. Maude Johnson. Sunday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Vaughn were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vaughn of Dawson. Mrs. Olive Woolhiser and granddaughter, JoAnn Grell spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Wool hiser in Omaha. Mrs. Woolhiser attended the band concert of the All City Band at Tech High Auditorium in Omaha Friday evening. Her grandson, Jerry Woolhiser played in the band. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Bender and children spent the weekend with relatives in Hebron. Wednesday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Or ville Robbins were Mr. Ed Rob bins and son Edward of La Crosse, Wisconsin and Jack Robbins of Papillion. Jerry Woolhisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Woolhiser of Omaha, formerly of Louis ville, had the honor of being one of the few trombone players selected from Norris Junior High to play in the All City Band. The band played at the Tech High Auditorium in Oma ha Friday evening. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Nora Phelphs were Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Dietze of Gretna and Mrs. Richard Heim and Joel. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Satterfield of Louisville are the parents of a son born Thursday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City. The young man has been named Terry Lynn and weighed six pounds and fourteen ounces. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Oren Hopper of near Spring field. The Satterfield's have three other children, two boys and a girl. Mrs. Satterfield and baby came home Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grell and sons were Thursday eve ning callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beck. Mrs. Irus Gerdes and children of Cedar Creek, spent Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gerdes. Mr. Gerdes re turned home from the hospital last Sunday and is feeling fine. The Senior Class Play, "The Late Christopher Bean" will be presented the evening of April 1 instead of March 31, as stated before. Tickets are on sale now and the public is invited to at tend. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davis at tended the district conference of postmasters at Wichita, Kan sas Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hennings of Avoca were Sunday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Hennings. Monday afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hennlngs. Callers this past week of Mrs. Emma Neuman and Mrs. Alice Pankonin in Manley were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Roeber of Ash land, Mrs. Charles Sluyter, Mrs. Anna Harms and Miss Daisie Schlater. Herman Roeber was a Sunday evening supper guest. Ward Brunson of Louisville has been appointed to the audi ting committtee of the State Republican convention which will be held in Lincoln Monday. Mrs. Nora Larson and grand children, Bobby and Debbie Tl ustos and Mrs. Fern Johnson at tended the wedding of Mrs. Lar son's niece, Miss Nancy Long in Glenwood, Iowa Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hutchinson were Sunday afternoon and sup per guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Manford Hutchinson and family. Mrs. Eva Blair entered the Methodist Hospital in Omaha Monday and underwent surgery Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Williams stayed with her all day Wednesday and reported that she was feeling somewhat better when they left her that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Beck were Saturday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pingree. Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Hennings received word Friday that Mrs Martin Anderson had passed away at her home in Lincoln. Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln. Mrs. And erson was the mother of Mrs. Oliver Hennings. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Brown attended a tea at Mount View School In Benson Sunday, March 13. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hutch inson and Roddy of Lincoln were Sunday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hutchinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jim McClun and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hawn in Papillion. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wildrick were Sunday afternoon callers of Fred Wildrick at the Rest Home in Weeping Water. Happy Helpers The Happy Helpers 4-H Club met at the home of Elaine Ter rberry. A demonstration on jud ging apples was given. The members also judged their own pincushions. Each member cut out material for a needle book. Next meeting will be at the home of Theresa Engelkemeier. A lesson on vegetables will be given. We are to select material for a hand toweh" "Elaine Ter ryberry. Center Busy Bees Peggy Sheehan and Marilyn Hammons entertained the Cen ter Busy Bees 4-H Club March 19 at Peggy's home. Jennifer Jochim and Linda Schliefert led us In singing "Down In The Valley." Linda Meyer and Sus an Stohlmann demonstrated how to make biscuits. A demonstra tion was given by Peggy Shee han and Marilyn Hammons on making the bed. Our Leader, Mrs. Stohlmann, discussed bak ing powder biscuits. Mrs. Haus child explained making a dust cloth and container. We enjoyed pilaying games. Refreshments were served by Marliyn and Peggy. Linda Meyer and Mar gie Sheehan will be hostesses at the next meeting on April 23. Margie Sheehan, reporter. On April 3, at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Prange is going to show some slides on India and talk about his work in India. Afterwards the Walther League is going to serve re freshments. Susan Stohlmann, reporter. Country Extension The Country Extension Club held its March meeting at the home of Ruth Stohlmann. Nine members answered roll call by naming a favorite television star. Amanda Heil led the group in singing several songs. Laura Stohlmann conducted the bus iness meeting after which Viola Rogers and Lila Engelkemeier presented the lesson "Shoes That Fit", which was very in formative. Mrs. Stohlmann serv ed refreshments. The April meeting will be with Laura Stohlman. Each member is to wear their Easter bonnet. Mr. and Mrs. George Dolan and Mrs. Howard Thurman were in Omaha on business Monday. Mrs. Rolland Cox of South Bend was a Thursday morning caller at the Edward Grell home. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Myers were Mr. and Mrs. Ton Ingalise and John of Omaha.
