Mrs. Eva Power spent the weekend in Lincoln with the Paul Owens family. Robert Brown of Kansas City is a guest this week of his grandmother, Mrs. Visa Brown. He attends school for the blind at Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kearney and family moved Tuesday from north of town to the house on the Maurine Wolph farm, which was recently vacated by the Victor Ross family. Mrs. Arthur Wolph, Mrs. Richard Johnson and Mrs. How ard Heesch attended the Cass county council meeting held at Weeping Water Tuesday after noon. Plans were made for the May 3 tea. Each member may bring a non-member of exten sion clubs and high school sen ior home ec students are invited. The Maple Grove club Is a member of the Nebraska Coun cil of Home economics clubs, the National demonstration council, and association County Women of the World. Sharon Dodson, Lincoln, was a guest over the weekend of her mother and sister, Mrs. Mer ritt Dodson and Jackie. Mrs. Ernest Overton of Ne braska City will speak on Child Welfare April 12 at the regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary. Barbara Chandler, Sandra Turner and Janet Jones will give readings. Mrs. R. R. Andersen and Mrs. Christina Chappell are hostesses. Relatives called the Chester Stone and Neil Pierce families to inform them that Mrs. R. R. Stone, who is spending the win ter with her sister, Miss Isadore Hall at Snoqualmie, Wash., was seriously ill Saturday. Word re ceived Tuesday was that she showed a marked improvement. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Snyder and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ro land Hogue and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. James Wadsworth and son were supper guests Satur day of the Marion Greggs. Sun day Mr. and Mrs. Randall Swit zer and Nancy. The Marion Greggs were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gansemer to observe the birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. Gansemer. The Greggs with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Greggs and family of Hamburg, Iowa were Sunday afternoon and supper guests of the Roy Greggs of Plattsmouth. School Notes Sandra Stapert received a superior on her reading of oral interpretation of prose litera ture at the district declamatory contest held at Peru Friday. Nancy Ehlers received excellent in interpretative public address. Mrs. Catherine Nutter, speech teacher, took the girls to Peru. Adult Class The last two classes of a series of adult homemaking lessons were held at the Nehawka homemaking deparment. The fifth, Delectable Desserts and the sixth, Planning Parties com pleted the course on Hints For The Hostess. Certificates for perfect attendance were given to Mines. Harvey Barkhurst, Leslie Behrns, Elmer Stoll, Ellis Lacy, Lewis Royal and Will Ost. The classes were conducted by the homemaking teacher, Mrs. Helen Friedli and University student teacher, Mrs. Errol Mit lyng and Mrs. Edward Neilsen. The PTA meeting scheduled for March 24 was postponed un til road conditions improve. There will be open house with each room displaying the work ! of the children. The Cass County Music Festi val will be at Nehawka Tuesday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Included will be the schools of Alvo, Avo ca, Eagle, Weeping Water, Elm wood and Nehawka. The school from Johnson will be guests.
