Gary Brakhage of Lincoln spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Brakhage. Mrs. Gus Brakhage accompanied him home Sunday 1 evening to spend a couple days. Orville Sandy returned to work at the Burlington depot after being off duty the past six days, on Friday evening he was a supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards in Ashland, and on Saturday a dinner and eve ning guest of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Nelson Ik Lincoln. The first meeting of the Green Glowers 4-H Club was held at the home of Kay Stolp Mon day evening, Jan. 25, President Kay Stolp presiding. Nine girls answered roll call. Minutes were read by the secretary Kathy Hammer. Proceeds from selling pens will go to the Halsey State 4-H camp. The lesson on "Beglning Bak ing" was about measuring, mix ing, ingredients and untensils and pans used. They finished by making muffins and serving them. Mrs. Fritch served refresh ments to the girls and their visiting mothers Cheryl Strat ton, reporter. The Exporer Scouts of Green wood sponsored a teenage dance at the Legion Hall Saturday night. Cass County Projects Included in State Call For Road Bids The Nebraska Department of Roads announce that it will ask bids on February 18 for $6,750,000 in highway construction, mostly on the Interstate. The Interstate projects in the February 18 letting includes forty-eight miles of grading, paving and culvert work, Includ ing ten bridges, from the Platte river to an interchange connect ed to the completed portion of the Interstate at the Gretna fish hatchery corner. Four miles of grading, paving and culvert work, Including eight bridges, from the Greenwood interchange in northwest Cass county. The eve ning was spent visiting and en joying the refreshments. Bill Roscncrans returned home Thursday evening from Alexandria, Minnesota where he enjoyed ice fishing for a week. They moved her to Elk horn where she will do practice teaching for 7 weeks in the Home Ec. Dept. of the Elkhorn High school. Mrs. Sadie Shrader and Ger ald of Nehawka were Wednesday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kelly. Mrs. Joe Peterson of Ashland was a dinner guest Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carnicle. Mrs. Clyde Has well was a Wednesday visitor, and Bill Carnicle of Plumboldt spent Sunday evening at the Carnicle home. and their immediate families. A dinner at noon, at the home of the brides parents, followed the wedding. The bride attended Murdock High School. Mr. Carnicle is a graduate of the Ashland High School of 1958, and is employed at the elevator at Murdock. They will make their home on a farm near Murdock.
