It was the 30th wedding anniversary of the Bur gens. They were later coffee guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller in Lincoln. The girls took part in the music clinic. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stelnkamp attended funeral services on Friday afternoon for John Rohr danz at the Immanuel Lutheran church. It was the birthday of Dorothy on Satur day so the girls went shopping, took in a show and visited with Mrs. Edgar Burgen at the Bryan Memorial hospital. Mrs. Mary Petersen and Fran cis and Mrs. Myrtle Gothorp of Iliff, Colorado were Monday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Steinkamp. James Slruve passed away on Tuesday and funeral services were held in Seward on Friday afternoon. He was 58 years old. Fifteen years ago he worked in the soil conservation in this area and will be remembered by many people. The Cascade club met on Wed nesday for a cooperative family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kirchhoff with seven families attending. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dcttmer and family were Saturday eve ning guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Roloff and family of Platts mouth. William Maddox of Syracuse held a farm sale on Thursday near Avoca. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Maddox held a cooperative dinner in the Luth eran church parlors while the men attended the sale. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stinkamp were Wednesday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Domingo and family. Mrs. Harlon Stock visited her mother, Mrs. Dora Albin a num ber of times the past week. Mrs. Albin hasn't been feeling too well the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dettmer and family were Sunday eve ning guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hauschild and family of Avoca. Bert Philpot and Mrs. Adam Cook were Sunday afternoon guests of Mrs. Cynthia Dawson of Plattsmouth. There were over 200 young people taking part in the clinic. Brownie Troop 247 met on Tuesday after school at the home of Mrs. Lewis Baker, as sisted by Mrs. Wade. Fourteen girls answered to roll call. Con nie Voyles and Patti Bloch were invested into the Brownies. Mrs. j Wade presented a one year ser 1 vice pin to the following girls: Marcia Mogensen, Twyla Cooper, Heather Stacey, Connie Block, Ann Slattery. The girls sang and played games. Marcia Meisinger served treats. The girls adjourn ed the meeting early to do a project for the Weeping Water Chamber of Commerce. Mr and Mrs. Ralnh Hvdc and bovs attended the dedication of I the "Cry Room" at the Method ist church in Louisville on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith of Millard presented this "Cry Room" installation in memory of their daughter, Mrs. Shirley Dobbs. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Groesser and boys and Mrs. Ethel Groes ser were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Groesser and Steven, honoring Alvin on his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Knud Jensen were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Fisher and boys of Falls City Mrs Thomas Stacey entertain ed eight ladies at a party on Wednesday morning. Eric Aronson and Terry Doyle were guests of Bert Marshall for dinner at a local cafe in honor of his 10th birthday. The boys spent the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nlssley Marshall where Mrs. Marshall served a birthday cake and ice cream. The Bide-A-Wee met at the home of Mrs. Clarence Norris. Mrs. I. C. G. Campbell and Mrs. Nell Munkres were guests. The next meeting will be February 4th at the home of Mrs. Walter Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Domingo, Mrs. Elmer Michelsen, Jr., Mr, and Mrs. Harlon Stock, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Domingo met on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs R. P. Hobson. Those pres ent are all members of the Rain bow Advisory Board. Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Stock were Wednesday evening guests of Mrs Edgar Burgen at the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lin clon. They later called on Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller. Mr. and Mrs. John Rieke and Mrs. Walter Anderson went to Lincoln on Wednesday and brought Walter Anderson home from the Bryan Memorial hos pital. He had undergone eye surgery. While there, Mrs. Rieke called on Mrs. Edgar Burgen. She reports that Mrs. Burgen is not getting along too well and is in considerable pain. Don Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hudson, had the misfortune to fall on a bucket Wednesday night at his home. He had just returned home from the music clinic at Louisville. He suffered a severe gash in his lip. Don and his father started to the doctor and run out of gas about a mile west of their home. A local bulk station operator was called and he took gas to them. Don had to have a number of stitches to close the cut but he returned to school Thurs day, with a badly swollen face. The members of the Junior Woman's Club held their annual Mother's March of Dimes on Thursday evening in the Weep ing Water vicinity. They collect ed about $190. 'The ladies were birthday coffee guests of Mrs. Richard Harmon following the drive. Mrs. Charles Freeman was called to Grand Island on Tues day as her sister, Mrs. Leo Mc- Cann underwent surgery on Fri day morning at the St. Francis hospital in Grand Island. Shirley Upton and Carol Nickels were Wednesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Heather for a mid-term vacation from the University of Nebraska. Susan Wood, is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wood and she also attends the University. Mrs. Charles Roberts of Oma ha and Mrs. Farley Amick and Bret were Saturday afternoon guests of Mrs. Raymond Free man and children. Steven Opp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Opp, underwent sur gery at the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Free man and family were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman of Avoca. Mr. and Mrs William Reibold of Omaha were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Stock and family. Mrs. Reibold and Mrs. Stock visited Mrs. Dora Albin at Rest Haven in the afternoon. Mrs. Raymond Freeman was a Wednesday morning guest of Mrs. Clarence King. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Sterling had their farm sale on Monday. Mrs. Sterling returned home on Saturday from Tylertown, Miss., where she visited with her mo ther, Mrs. Albert Lourey, who has been very ill. Rick Applegate, son of Mrs. Eunice Applegate, left last Fri day from Omaha for San Diego, California where he will take a nine weeks basic training in the Navy. After the basic train ing, he will spend several mon ths attending an electronics school. John Rohrdanz of Lincoln passed away on Monday, Jan uary 25th in Lincoln. He was the father of Herbert Rohrdanz of Weeping Water and Mrs. Wal do Minford of Lincoln. Funeral services were held at the Im manuel Lutheran church near Louisville Jan. 29. Mrs. Walter Patton entertain ed at a party on Friday after noon with 13 ladies present. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haus child and Steven of Ceresco were Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Lorensen. Mrs. Arthur Schmidt was a Friday morning guest of Mrs. Marvin Pilford. Jody Pilford was a dinner and afternoon guest of Mrs. Schmidt. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Harter and John and Mrs. Ethel Her mann and Betty spent from Fri day night until Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. U. G. Stoner at Columbia, Missouri. Merle Cook of Fremont was a Wednesday overnight guest of Mrs. Adam Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cook and children of Oma ha spent Saturday with Mrs. Cook. The Eastern Star Kensington met on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Arnold Upton with Mrs. Fred Cherry as co hostess. Twonty-one members were present. The Kensington will meet in February with Mrs. S. H. Harmon. The Sew 'n' Sews met on Wed nesday evening at the home of Mrs. Lewis Baker. The eve ning was spent in sewing and visiting. Diane Ratliff celebrated her 15th birthday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ratliff and family, with a fam ily birthday dinner on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sack of Murray were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston. They all were Sunz day evening lunch guests of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz and boys of Walton. The Ladies Club of Pleasant View extension club met on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lyle Schafer with eleven members present and one guest, Mrs. Fred Hike. Mrs. Robert Bergman was elected as presi dent to fill a vacancy and Mrs. John Heck was elected as vice president. Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Harold Meisinger gave the les son on "Storage." Mrs. Merle Ragoss led in group singing. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Roy Engelketneier. Armour Secretary Marlys Lane, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Elmo Lane, 416 Avenue E, was awarded a secetarlal dip loma by the C. E. School of Commerce, Omaha, January 25. She has accepted a position to the offices of Armour & Co. Miss Lane is a graduate of Plattsmouth High School, class of 1959.
