Mrs. Vernon Dettmer and children spent Friday end Sat urday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Roloff and family at Omaha. Mrs. S. H. Harmon came home from the hospital in Omaha on Sunday following eye surgery. At this writing she has been quite sick with the flu. Sigvald J?n?en, scout master, announced that the boy. can earn an extra awfrd for the com'ng year in honor of the 50 years of scouting. Each boy earning this patch over the ser vice star has earned five points. Den three was the winner in the contest for October and all the cubs attended the October meeting. Awards were presented ty Mr. Jensen: Wolf badge, gold and silver arrow, Gary Schmidt; Lion badge, gold and two sliver arrows, Billy Dettmer; 1 gold and 4 silver arrows, Ronald Pat terson; 2 silver arrows, Billy Saxton; 2 silver arrows, John Van Horn; 1 silver arrow, Rob bie King; 1 gold arrow, Gerry Doyle and 1 gold arrow, Jimmy Nichols; Service star, Gerry Doyle. Mrs. James Doyle led In the group singing of "Over , the River". The boys and Mr. Jensen presented a skit on 50 years of scouting. February 8, 1960 the scouts in America will celebrate this event. , A guessing game was held pre ceding the meeting and Mrs. E. J. Bender won on guessing the length of a piece of string made into Cub Scouting; Weight of a rock, Ronald Schmidt; and number of beans in a jar, Tom my Kunz. Kenneth Sudman, Mrs. Nissley Marshall and Eric Aron son. Kitchen committee were Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. William Kunz. Pumpkin pie, and cocoa were served. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gibson of Omaha spent the Thanksgiv ing holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Gibson. Mrs. Raymond Freeman was taken to the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln on Satur day morning for observation and treatment. Mrs. Ed Free man spent Friday night and Saturday at the Freeman home caring for the two children. Raymond Freeman, Steve and Paula were Sunday breakfast guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman of Avoca. The children spent the day at the Freeman home. They are staying this week with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bruns and family. Bernard Poppe of Chester was a dinner guest Sunday at the Henry Knaup home In the even ing he and Miss Roberta Knaup returned to the University of Nebraska. Sharon Stock of Louisville spent the Thanksgiving holi days with Mr. and Mrs. Harlon Stock and Jim. Thursday eve ning guests at the Stock home were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor and Geraldine. Eugene Wohlenberg spent the Thanksgiving holidays at home in Fairbury. Mr. and Mrs. William Sudman and family have moved into the rental property of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook, near the school house Mr. and Mrs. Robert Betts and family have moved into the home vacated by the Sudmans. Mrs. Clifford Cooper went to Nebraska City on Monday morn ing and brought Mrs. Norman Urwin and new baby to their home In Murray. Mrs. Sylvia Kohnke of Stella spent the week at the Urwln home as Mrs. Ur win was confined to bed. Mr. and Mrs. James McVay were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gregg and family at Plattsmouth. Mrs. Joseph John and Mrs. E. Thomas Stacey attended the 7-County Polio dinner at the Orand Hotel in Nebraska City. Bert Philpot and Mrs. Adam Cook visited on Tuesday with relatives in Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. James Owens and Cynthia of Loup City spent the Thanksgiving holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Domingo. The Friendly Neighbor Club met at the home of Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Jr. for their meeting in November. Bonnie Noble, Donald Groesser,' and Jack Miller and the music, director, Robert Dappen attend ed the three day session of the Annual State Music Clinic last week in Lincoln. Bonnie and Don took part in the clinic chorus and Jack took part in the clinic band. David Nielsen, son of Mrs. Carter Nielsen, has enlisted in the Army for three years and is stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado for a time. The Weeping Water Parent Teachers Association met on Monday evening in the school auditorium with a good attend ance. Two State Highway patrolmen gave a program on "Traffic Safety" and also showed a film. Mrs. Melvin Thorns won the door prize of a PTA magazine. The seventh grade won the at tendance prize. Hostesses were the mothers of the seventh grade. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Wiles are parents of a boy at Methodist hospital, Omaha, Nov. 23. He has been named Kirk Daniel and weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell of Sinton, Texas and the paternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Wiles.
