Due to Boy Scout camp and thi mumps, the regular officers w ie not present. Bobby Wall ;,ctcd as president and Molly (Hfcne as secretary. Meeting was called to order by Hubby and roll call was answered liv something they had done in their room. Susan Greene led the i ll pledge. Molly and Susan demonstrated on dusting and w liulows. Judy Leadabrand appointed Hubby Wall as game leader. Molly Green els music leader for the Wiib year. At the close of the meeting the club was entertained by piano solos played by Sara, Susan and Molly Greene. Mrs. Greene serv ed lunch. Mary Wall, news re porter. A miscellaneous shower was held at the Methodist church Wednesday evening in honor of Muss Dianne Tennant, bride elect of Donald McDonald of Lincoln. Arlene Johnson was in charge of the entertainment. Anna Mae Marolf and Janice Wiles sang solos and was accompanied by Sandra Wright at the piano. After Miss Tennant opened her many lovely gifts refreshments were served by the hostesses. The couple have set the wed ding date for July 5th at the Methodist Church of Greenwood. Tuesday afternoon Carol Lead abrand and Patty Velder enter tained a group of school girls at Carol's home for a kitchen shower honoring Miss Dianne Tennant. The girls played games for entertainment. The serving table was decorated approp riately for the shower and choco late cake roll and Koolald was served. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pilfold and Mr. and Mrs. Oren Bennett enjoyed a picnic and fishing at Cedar Bluffs, Sunday. Greenwood Scout Troop 34 Troop 34 returned from a week at Summer Camp. Saturday. 9 boys and their scout master at tended Camp Minis Kuya at Lincoln. The camp program fea tured I Dood it , which were known around camp as "Dood its", A Dood it is a personal ac- I complishment by an individual scout, such as a non-swimmer swimming across the pool. Stan dards were set up for each acti vity. There were even "Dood its" for doing mess hall duty. The individual "Dood its" were small pieces of yarn which the boys wore on their pocket. When 75 of the troop received "Dood its" the troop received a large one for their troop flag. Troop 34 received 5 large "Dood its." The pleasant weather and in teresting camp program provided a wonderful week of camping. The Happy Homemakers ex tension club met with Mrs. Billie Schuelke Wednesday, June 17. Mrs. Turnbull of Lincoln who is writing a theses took a survey of our club. Mrs. Elgin Knudsen assisted by Mrs. M. R. Hansen gave the lesson on "At Home at the Wheel." The next meeting will be' with Mrs. A. W. Velder, July 15. The Twin Table Pinochle Club met at the home of Mrs. Gus Brakhage Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson and family were Father's Day evening dinner and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lad Bed nar of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Max Meyers of Lincoln spent Father's Day at the John Meyers home. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rouse were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Rouse s brother Carl Anderson of Lincoln. The dinner was in honor of Father's Day and of M. and Mrs. Ander son's son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz., visiting at their home. They visited KFOR, Miller and Paine Candy Kitchen, Lincoln Journal and Star, the Legislature where they visited with Ed McHugh, Chas. Mar shall and Lt. Gov. Dwight Bur ney, and the new governor's mansion and had lunch at the YWCA. In spite of the hot day, they enjoyed themselves. Driv ers were Emmett Cook, Merle Eveland and Lois Krecklow. Dinner guests Sunday at the Elmer Shreve home were Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Van Andel. the Mioses Velma and Marjie Smith, all of Lincoln. While Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gonzales of Guthrie Center Iowa, are attending the Nation al Press Convention at Colo' rado Springs, their son Scott is visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Shreve and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gonzales. Mrs. Eva Power of Nehawka came Monday to spend the week with her sister and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hor ton. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hill were their daughter and boys, Mr. and Mrs. Cvril Teague of Douglas, Ariz. Also visiting them were Billy and Tommy, sons of Jim Hill of Falls City, while their parents were on a trip to New York. Rollie Hoffman is visiting his grandparents at Plainview this week. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hoffman and James, were to bring him home. The Dixie Gals met June 19 at the home of Kristie Eveland. The meeting was called to or der by president Wanda Hawks. Mrs. Hawks demonstrated how to keen dresser drawers naet was elected secretary. Kathy Juilfs was anew member. The members got their 4-H pins. Af ter the meeting, they practiced square dancing. Mrs. Emily Hall is now a pa tient at Ebeler Nursing Home. Her condition remains about the same as it has been for some time. A Dieckman family picnic sup per was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Box June 20. Lona Rieke attended from' here. Grace Wood accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wood of Weep ing Water who attended the wed ding of a cousin at Arapahoe. Miss Wood visited her nieces at Beaver City, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Teeters, Mr. and Mrs. Geo rge Wilmot and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Babcock. They left Sat urday morning, returning Sun day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seiker and Mrs. Albert Seiker drove to Om aha Sunday to see their sister, Mrs. Pauline Stander in St. Jo seph Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Inger soll of Nashville, Tenn., were all day visitors Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hill. Mrs. Ingersoll was a form er Elmwood girl, Valentine Min ford. Anna Seiker attended the wed ding of a cousin, Mary Zoz, at the Manley Catholic Church on June 20. The bridegroom is Mar vin Scheicleler of Ord. His folks live at Odell. Mrs. Julia Barth also attended the weddin. A get-together of the Drake family was held In the park on Sunday evening with about 50 present. It followed the wedding of Judy Drake at the Method ist Church that afternoon. Visitors at the Sanford Clem ents home Saturday and Sun day were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stockman of Anaheim, Calif. They had been t oFlortda and New York and were on their way home. The two ladies are lifelong friends. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Miller drove to Syracuse Sunday to spend Father's Day with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mil ler. The Rueter Reunion took place in the park Sunday with about 100 present. The new of ficers are Herman Bornemeier, president; Mrs. Dick Trutna, secretary and treasurer; Les ter Rosenow, Lavina Backemy- er and Viola Hanson, the coin mittee. The past president is Alvin Oehlerking. Secretary and treasurer was Orris Riekert and Walter Rueter, Emma Borne meier and Harlan Kunz were on the committee. Sunday dinner guests at the C. A. Bronn home were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Streik and Clayton and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bronn and sons of Beet. Mr and Mrs. Wm. Rueter drove to Iowa to take Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rueter with them to Minnesota on a fishing trip. They wtre gone a week. Bob Rueter Is in Atlanta, Ga. getting training for his minis terial work in a large church. He expects to be there all sum mer. Attending the 30th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Elseman of Murdock Saturday evening at a buffet supper were Mr. and Mrs. Har old Krecklow, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bornemeier and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Shreve. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hall and Dr. O. E. Mr. and Mrs. John Gakemier of Fairbault, Minn., came Sat urday and are spending several days with relatives in this loca lity. They were guests at the Bill Rosencrans home Saturday. Rev. Albert Schroedcr read the vows before the altar bank ed with pink and white peonies and orange blossoms. Karen Schroedcr played the traditional wedding music at the organ and accompanied Mrs. Ted Zornes of Lincoln, sister of the groom, who sang. Candlelighters were Janice Sorensen, sister of the bride, and Sharon Hansen, cousin of the bride. Mrs. Venice Fossberg of Fre mont, sister of the bride, attir ed in pink and Mrs. Maxine Lovell, sister-in-law of the bride groom, attired in green, were matron of honor and bride's matron. Sharon Kay Lovell, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Michael Lovell, nephew of the bridegroom, was train bear er. Kenneth Sorensen. brother of the bride, was ringbearer. Given in marriage by her grandfather, Otto Ueckert of Central City, the bride wore a floor length dress of white brid al satin and alencon lace with voluminous skirt falling in a short train. Franklin Lovell of Central City served his brother as best man and Dudley Fossberg of Fremont, brother-in-law of the bride was groomsman. Alton Ueckert of Harvard and Robert Ueckert of Iowa, uncles of the bride, were ushers. A reception followed the cer emony and was held at the home of Swend Sorensen where the 150 guests were served. Mrs. Lovell was a member of the graduating class of 1958 at Central City High and Mr. Lovell is a 1952 graduate of Gilt ner High. The couple will live at Green wood where tlip groom is en gaged in farming and stock raising with his father.
