Happy Homemakers Exten sion Club met at the home of Mrs. Bill Leesley May 20. The club members turned in $99.29 for the cancer drive which the club sponsored. Ruth Circle met Tuesday at the Methodist Church. Co-chalr. man Mrs. John Downing was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Wayne Landon had the lesson. Mrs. Downing served lunch. Mrs Clara Pershing spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Oene Robinson and family of Lincoln. They drove to Fremont Sunday afternoon and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gordon. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Carpenter attended Mike's 8th grade pro motion Monday evening. After wards they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Leadabrand and Carol and had cake and ice cream. Mary Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wright had a tonsllectomy at the Bryan hos pital Friday and returned home Saturday. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rouse were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson of Lin coln. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmquist were their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Thomas of Clear field, Utah, and grandson and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blgelow of Ogden, Utah. They came to attend Mr. Thom as's father's funeral Saturday and will remain to visit amon relatives until after Memorial Day. Mrs. Ray Rouse and Mrs. Har old Pllfold attended the cooking school at Hoffmann Auditorium at Ashland Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bell and Lloyd and Mr. and Mrs. John Grady and Colleen drove to Con way, Iowa, Sunday and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Junior Sch uelke and family. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Armstrong were Mr. and Mrs. John Laird and Mrs. Edna Miller of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Halmes of Ashland were additional eve ning guests. Mrs. Elizabeth Brehm of Lin coln called on Mrs. Everett Cope Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday lunch guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Marvin were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lewis of Indianola Iowa. Sharon Tennant is spending her vacation in New York vis iting relatives. Douglas Marolf , son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Marolf of Wav erly, while handling a pistol, accidentally shot himself in the leg below the knee Sunday. He went for surgery Sunday after noon and returned home Mon day. Mrs. Fred Halka returned home Saturday after 4 weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Halka of Ravenna, Iowa. Mrs. Halka was helping out while Mrs. Earl Halka under went surgery at Lutheran Hos pital at Grand Island and lat er convalesced at home. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Jardine and family of Ellsworth spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jardine. They left on Monday morning for Shelby to visit with other relatives.
