Mrs. Ivan Hansen and accom panied by Mrs. Elmer Ross. Mrs. Janice Freebur of Platts mouth presented several num bers by her dancing class. They were accompanied by Mrs. Ches ter Wiles. Mrs. Georgia Gilley played two cello numbers. There were displays of an tique tools and machinery and of modern dav products. Door prizes were given and the foun ders of the co-ops were recogniz ed during the night. William Hart of Weerjine Water, one of the original directors was pres ent. Duane Everret sang, accom panied by Mrs. Gilley. A spec ial feature was Rev. G. E. Sey bold of Plattsmouth with feats of magic. Mrs. Arnold Meising er presented her accordion band. Kenneth Meyer was a guest Sunday evening of the William Jorgensons. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Meyer who were farming northwest of Nehawka have moved to Platts mouth. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harris and family, Nebraska City, were supper guests Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. James Wadsworth. On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Scharp and Stevie were their supper guests. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wessel of Union, who came home Thurs day from spending the winter in Florida, visited his mother, Mrs. Mary Wessel Sunday. The Wes sels returned during the storm when their car was hit and dam aged so badly they had to re turn home from there by train. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Orr, Aub urn, were guests Saturday eve ning of Mr. and Mrs. Muiell Whittington and family. Dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Will Ost were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Dannehl, Bertrand, Mrs. Amelia Balfour, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wessel. Mrs. Bob Wunderlich received a letter from her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gordon who are on a Mediterannean cruise. They were in Venice and Rome, Italy, when they wrote. Freight Engine Off Track At Louisville LOUISVILLE (Special) The engine of a Rock Island freight was derailed at Louisville dur ing the recent snowstorm. The accident happend at a switch and it was not known just what caused the trouble. The engine weighed about 140 tons and it was necessary to use air jacks to get it back on the track. Mr. Walters suffered a stroke recently and his condition is ser- j ious. He is paralyzed and has lost his speech. Mr. and Mrs. George Poulos and Sharon, Auburn, Mr. and Mrs .John Sheard. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Heiser, grandparents of Dunbar, 1 attended the services. Mrs. Ketelhut spent Monday eve ing quilting with Mrs. Ross. Mrs. George Mayer of Avoca accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Mer le Meyer to Omaha Tuesday to visit Fr. E. C. McFadden at Vet. erans Hospital. Nancy Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ross was two years old March 5. On Sunday noon her dinner guests were Mrs. Floy Buell, Lincoln, and her evening dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ross and family, Nebraska City, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hansen and family. Dierks entered several judg ments here Friday. In the case of Dorothv D. Arn old vs. Elarl V. Arnold, an order was issued consenting to the a doption of Donna Arnold by Mil ton E. Fitzgerald Jr. Ruby G. Weygand was grant ed a divorce from Harrv W. Weygand and given custody of two children. Theresa A. Smith was grant ed a divorce from Robert B. Smith and given custody of a child. Evelyn L. Gruber was grant ed a divorce from John Gruber and given custody of eight chil dren. Trouble Shooters The Trouble Shooters Tractor Club met at Christ Lutheran Church March 9. Gene Engelkemier gave a dem onstration on tractor tipping. The club decided to go bowl ing in Plattsmouth March 22. Lunch was served bv Mrs. Forrest Engelkemier. reporter, David Kraeger. 4i iff i APPLES Grapefruit Butternut Instant E I n a 19 v. r - ,T i Mrs. Naomi Colaw Dies At Offutt Base Hospital Mrs. Naomi Colaw, 63, died Thursday, March 12 at the base hospital at Offutt Field, being ill for a week from a heart attack. She was born July 19, 1895 at Greenburg, Pa., daughter of Joseph and Eva Thomas. She was married February 22, 1947 at Tampa, Fla., to Orrie O. Col aw. The family have made their home in the Offutt and Platts mouth area for the past six months and have many friends here. Mrs. Colaw has been a lady devoted to her home. She was a member of the Morman church in her lifetime. Surviving are the husband, Sgt. Orrie O. Colaw, Offutt Feld; two daughters, Mary Jane Toothman, Silver Springs, N. Y.; Mary Lou Zimmerman, Buf falo, N. Y., two sons, William Hawk, Buffalo, N. Y.; Charles Hawk, Philadelphia, Pa. Death Of Former Resident In Colorado Word has been received here by old friends of the death of Mrs. Leon Edson Jan. 29 at her home in Sterling, Colo. The fam ily were residents here same 20 years ago, Mr. Edson being a carrier on RFD out of the loc al office. Mo., was fatally injured Wednesday while hunt ing near Sedalia. Relatives here received a message of the death but no particulars of the acci dent. Me. Slatinskv came to Platts mouth when a youth from his native Czechoslovakia, settling in Plattsmouth where members of his family were located. He entered the local Burlington shops and remained there until 1922. He later moved to Sedal-j ia where he entered the Miss ouri Pacific shops, retiring from active service some three weeks ago. While a resident here he was married to Miss Clara Janda, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Janda Sr., at Holy Rosary Church. Surviving are the wife, Clara, y Cans . . . . .
