Mrs. Elsa Hornbeck arrived home the first of the week from her two-week trip. The vounteer firemen enter tained their wives to an oyster supper on Thursday evening with a very good attendance. This is an annual affair. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Magorian of Lincoln are parents of a son born the first of the week. Mrs. Magorian was Dorothy Gorthey of Murdock. They have four children. The Friendly Neighbor Club met on a snowv January day for their postponed (because of the blizzard) meeting at Edna Rikli's home. New president Dorothy Bornemeier had charge of the business meeting. Lorna Stroy is the new secre-tay-treasurer. Members voted to raise dues to 50 cents. Edna told about their trip to Mexico and movies were shown. Martha Schmidt was assist ing hostess. Next meeting will be at Lorna Stroy 's Feb. 18. Mrs. James Mills spent two days last week at the Dickmey er home in Omaha helping out while little Julie had her ton sils removed. The Stuart Mills family spent Sunday at Sutton with the Frank Mills family. Quite a few of the grade stu dents are out of school with measles. School was dismissed on Jan. 21 due to the drifted roads. The buses couldn't make the rounds. Mrs. Richard Norris and Steve of Av oca were Wednesday afternoon guests at the Baker home. David Mullin spent the week end in Lincoln with Charles O' Grady. Roberta Knaup spent several days at home with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup and Rodney, be tween semesters. Rodney took her back to Lincoln and they took in a show. The Busy Bells organized their 4-H Club Wednesday at the home of the leader, Mrs. Clarence Schmadeke. Linda Schmadeke was voted president; Patty Den nis, vice president; Marilyn; Schmadeke, secretary. Susan Thomsen will be reporter. Mrs. Nancy Sutton was a guest at the meeting.
