Plattsmouth players, 6-8 tenter, was in the elear, hiRh above in the from left, are Roger Noell, J. C. Draper, AI Dash rarifietl atmosphere as he fired a shot here Fri- er, Jim Shown. At riht is t'rrte's lloltgrewe. arsds Plotts oaiference 79-53 C mouth Pefeot Plattsmouth saw Paul Kersen brock and three puys named Ken, Tom and Ron Friday night. Those four led Crete to a 79-53 basketball conquest of Plattsmouth High here. Kersenbrock, 6-8, was all he was supposed to be, and more. He didn't have a real Rood night but he showed he may be a real basketball player before he's through. At that, his presence upset Plattsmouth from the start. There's always some doubt about the ability of a tall high school player to move. Kersen brock dispelled any doubt fast. He scored the first basket of the game on the lead end of a fast break. In fact, he was all alone as he went the last yards to place a carryup shot in the basket. Crete led 2-0 and was ahead throughout. Kersenbrock later was troubled with fouls and sat out part of the game. When he was gone, others took over. Ken Parker was a terrif ic rebounder and scored 19 points. Tom Rine, like Kersen brock, got 13. Ron Douglas hit 12. Plattsmouth, meanwhile, was having another tough night of shooting. Even with Jim Shown back with a bandaged hand a recovery from two straight loss es after four initial wins wasn t possible. The Devils hit only .292 on 19 for 65 but Coach John Adkins was encouraged at least by the fact they managed to get up a respectable number of shots. "You just don't look good when you don't hit," Adkins comment ed. Crete shot an amazing .523 on 34 for 65. Included were several easy shots toward the end of the game when Plattsmouth was pressing on defense to try to steal the ball. Adkins said his team might have held the score down if they hadn't pressed but he wanted to do all he could to get his team back in the same. V i v 1 In the fourth quarter, Platts mouth equalled Crete's 24 point output after the visitors had had an advantage of 55-28 to that point. Al Dasher suffered a knee in jury for Plattsmouth near the end but was evidently alright Saturday. Tom Winscot was P 1 a 1 1 s mouth's leading scorer with 14, J. C. Draper got 12 and Shown 11. The loss made the Devils' season mark 4-3 and their Twin Rivers standing 1-1. Hattsmouth (53) fg ft pf pts Dasher, f 2 3 2 7 Noell, f 2 0 4 4 Stewart, f 1 0 1 2 Draper, e 3 6 2 12 K.
