A Christmas program was given by Molly Greene and Donna Meyers which Included Susan, Sarah and Christopher Green. Mr. and Mrs. John Grady and Colleen attended a Christmas program at South Bend Sunday evening. OES Kensington held their Christmas party at the Masonic Hall Wednesday. They had a 1 o'clock luncheon and a gift ex change. New officers were e lected as follows. Mrs. Walter Woitzel, president; Mrs. Gail Pollard, vice president; Mrs. Earl Stradley. secretary, and Mrs. John Downing, treasurer. Mrs. Emil Meisinger left the hospital Dec. 11 and is getting along quite well. Mr. and Mrs. Meisinger are staying at the Joe Leesley home at Waverly until Mrs. Meisinger gets a lit tle stronger. Dorcas Society met at the Christian Church Friday for a 1 o'clock luncheon and a Christ mas party. They played games and had a gift exchange. Alice Boucher was honored for her birthday with a cake made by Mrs. Ray Rouse and Mrs. Ina Armstrong. Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Carpenter were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brakhage of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Brakhage. Mr. and Mrs. Niles Coleman left by train Wednesday for San Diego, Calif., where they will spend part of the winter. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John Seefeld and family visited with Mr. Seefeld's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Noble Remmer eld of Petersburg. Thursday evening dinner gu ests of Mr. and Mrs. John John son were Mr. and Mrs. Sayles Thomsen and Billie of Lincoln. The dinner was in honor of Mr. Johnson's and Billie's birthdays. Mrs. Sayles Thomsen of Lin coln called on Mrs. Emma Ap puhn Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kyles were Friday supper and evening gu ests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinney of Alvo. Mr. and Mrs. Kinney left Saturday for Calif ornia where they will spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hughes of Springfield spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jce Kyles. Mrs. Mildred Comstock spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. El don Bates and family of Lin coln. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Osburn honor ing Mrs. Osburn's birthday were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Bulling and son and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Osburn and daughter of Lincoln. Keith Niederhaus is staying with his grandparent?, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Cope while his mother Mrs. George Neiderhaus is a patient at the Lincoln General Hospital where she un derwent surgery last week. Jack and Mrs. Buckingham, Mark and Dawn now occupy the parson age. Mrs. Carl Sutton, assisted by the choir girls, were in the kitchen. Mrs. Archie Miller and Mrs. A. B. Stroemer poured tea. There were 60 or more present for the occasion. Those attend ing from Lincoln were Mrs. Grace Linch and Dr. Patterson from the University of Nebras ka. The Royal Neighbors Lodge met with Mrs. Anna Hardnock Thursday evening for a cover ed dish supper and election of officers, as follows: Oracle, Mrs. A. L. A Christmas party and also a birthday party for Mrs. Addie Kinney followed the business meeting. Mr. and Mrs. John Weichel entertained Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weichel and Junior, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Leefer and Milton of Unadilla and Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Howe and family Sun day celebrating the birthday of their daughter Jeanette who was 15 at a turkey dinner and lunch Sunday. Junior Weichel and Arlyne Streich of Murdock attended the auto show in Omaha Sunday af ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Hegg of Lincoln were at Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weichel's Sunday evening. Jenifer Leming. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Leming has been absent from school having a seige of chicken pox. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kinney and family have moved to their recently purchased home, one quarter mile north of Alvo. They had been living cne mile north and three quarters , of a mile west of Alvo a number of years. Shirley Foreman has moved in with them while Wayne Kinneys are in California. The Junior Wranglers Riding Club met Sunday night at the Havelock fire house for their Christmas party. Those attend ing from Alvo were Judy and Jeanette Weichel, Nancy and Patsy Roelofsz and Arthur Roel ofsz. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Reed of Elmwood were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ayers on Sunday afternoon. Alice Kellogg is with her niece Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wall were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Kipper of Have lock. Mr. and Mrs. Kipper also attended the St. Joseph Parish Christmas party Sunday after noon. Mrs. Mildred Comstock return ed home last Friday evening from a three week visit with her daughter, Mrs. Emmett Meyers, Mr. Meyers and Linda of Davton, Ohio. T-Sgt. Meyers is stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Field near Dayton. While there Mrs. Comstock helped Linda celebrate her second birthday. Beth Kirk entered university Hospital at Omaha Tuesday for observation and treatment. Edwin Kirk of California vis ited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kirk, Sunday by telephone. Callers this week on Mr. and Mrs. Martin Shupe were Mrs. Mabel Lambert. Mrs. N. D. Talcott and Mrs. Ralph Clymer. Mrs. Frank Hurlbut was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hurlbut and family of Lincoln. She Is in Mrs. Smay's first grade. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Leaver. Mr. and Mrs. Verner Leonard of Hardin. Mont., were at the Ernest Leaver home Sunday for supper. Mrs. Mabel Elliott entertain ed the Reading Club at her home Thursday afternoon for a dessert luncheon. Twelve were present and all made Christmas door decorations, supervised by Mrs. A. B. Stroemer. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nichel and son of Lincoln were at the homev of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nickel Saturday evening. Mrs. Marion Kellogg and her sister, Mrs. Ellen Stewart of Greenwood were in Lincoln Mon day and had oyster supper at the Kellogg home Monday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kellogg attended a school program at at a country school north of Ash land Friday evening. Their gr andchildren, children of Mr. and Mrs. Vosler of Ashland, were in the program. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinney left Saturday for California. They will visit their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kinney and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fairfield were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rueter Sunday for din ner and all attended the open house at the parsonage Sunday afternoon. Alvo lost all three games to Panama Thursday night. Arthur Dinges was home from the hospital over the weekend. Karl Rosenow took him back Sunday evening. Mrs. Wesley Cook and Mrs. Ted Hall of Elmwood gave a pink and blue shower for Mrs. Dick Morgridge at the Cook home Saturday evening. Mrs. Morgridge is from Lincoln and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zoz. J. W. Banning was taken to the Bryan Memorial Hospital Wednesday.
