Hansen was a gu est of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hild of Murray Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hicks took Mrs. Bertie Hicks to Emery Ayers' at Fremont Friday. They were overnight guests of Mr and Mrs. John Hicks at Malmo and visited the Frank and Geo- rge Ayers families at Lincoln on their return. Tuesday they took their daughter, Twila, to Omaha and had supper with Mr. and Mrs. Les Devendorf of Council Bluffs. Jimmy Lee Nichols observed his 11th birthday with a party at the Tucker Park. Delegates to the district con vention Oct. 18 at Nebraska Ci ty are Mrs. Eugene Fitch, Mrs. Harvey Barkhurst, Mrs. Jake Stapert, Mrs. Gilbert Kime and Mrs. Frank Linder. The Nehaw ka organization will give the memorial service at the con vention. Mrs. Lewis Royal discussed "Chrysanthemums" at the meet ing of the Nehawka Flower Club Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Guy Murdoch. Dr. R. R. Anderson contribut ed $10 to one of the worthy caus es sponsored by the club. There was an exchange of flower cut tings. Mrs. Maude Giles of Neb raska City and Mrs. Maude PhiL pot were guests. Next meeting Oct. 8 will be guest night and will be held at the church. Esther Barkhurst was honor ed recently when she was ac cepted officially by the Nation al Girl Scouts of America. She can now hold office any place in the world. Miss Barkhurst is director of the Lincoln Scouts and attends classes at Wesley an. The first meeting of the Jun ior Women's Club was held at the home of Mrs. Marion Tuck er Thursday evening with an indoor picnic. Hostesses were the officers, Mrs. Tucker, Mrs. Art Johnson. Delegates to the county con vention Oct. 2 at Avoca are the officers and Mrs. Elmer Ross and to the district convention at Plattsmouth Oct. 9 are Mrs Art Johnson. Bowen a former Green wood teacher and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wright were also guests. Mrs. Moble Fisher sang a solo accompanied by Miss Kirk, who also played a piano solo. October meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Ben Howard. Sept. 11, Scout Troop 34 of Greenwood accompanied by scout master Wavne Howard went on a cookout to the Billie Schuelke farm south of Greenwood. They worked on plans for building shelter for next camp out. Dick Marolf forgot about a creek in the direction he was walking and fell off the bank and landed sitting in the mud. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wall are the parents of twin sons born Tuesday Sept. 9th at the St. Elizabeth Hospital weighing 5 lb., 2 oz., and 6 lb., 1l2 oz., and have been named Donald and Ronald. OES Kensington met Wednes day at the home of Mrs. Frank Welton, Mrs. Harry Marolf was assistant hostess but was ill and could not attend the meeting. Lunch was served by the host ess. The St. Joseph Altar Society met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Kenneth O'Rourke with six members present. At the bus iness session they discussed the Carnival and Bazaar which will be held at the Pershing Audi torium in Lincoln Oct. 8 and 9 for the benfeit of the St. Thomas Orphanage of Lincoln. A picnic supper was held at the home of George Rouse, Sun day honoring the birthdays of Jody Pilfold, daughter of Marvin Pilfold. George Rouse and Lyle Comstock.
