Linden, Lotys and Lyanne De Freece of Cairo are spending some time with their grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Arm strong, they and the Armstrongs spent Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Everman in Wann. Miss Carol Lresley and James Odell of Omaha were Sunday afternoon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Odell. Deanne and Jeanne Judds of Lincoln spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fox and accompanied them to a Newsham family re union at Bethany Park Sunday, they returned to their home that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Laughlin of Shenandoah, la., spent Satur day afternoon at the John and Arthur Laughlin home. P'riday dinner guests there were, Mrs. Mary Kaiser of Starbuck, Mani toba, Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Llekam and Mrs. George Harris and family of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and family and Mr. and Mrs. Al Backemeyer and Eugene went to the Louisville lakes for a picnic supper Sunday evening. John Roeber exhibited two Brown Swiss dairy calves at the Stir Up. He won a blue ribbon on each calf. Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman Jr., and family of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Bennett Bornman and daughters of Omaha were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman, Mr. and Mrs. Darold Miller and family spent Saturday there. Kathy and Cindy Bornman are spend ing this week with their grand parents. Mrs. Dewey Moore accompan ied Mrs. Oscar Dill to Weeping Water Monday where they at tended an extension council meeting at the auditorium that afternoon. Henry Flsser and his mother Mrs. Tena Flsser of Lincoln had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klipp. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence West lake and family of Eagle spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kellogg and family. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bohlsen of Omaha visited with Mrs. Boh lsen's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kuppe Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Rolfs meyer and family of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Boiler and sons. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cunning ham of Grlnnell, la., and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Lehr of Ashland visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Armstrong Sunday evening, Mrs. Cunningham is Mrs. Armstrong's cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wiles, Donna and Freddie of Nehawka and Raymond Wiles of Platts mouth spent Saturday after noon at the Dewey Moore home. Mr. and Mrs. Blueford Bieler and family of Wichita, Kan., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jones Bieler and family. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long and family had Saturday dinner with Mrs. Long's paents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scholting at Gret na. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Haase called on Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wendt and Linda Kay at Mur dock, Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hall and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fry in Lincoln Sunday. Mrs. Mable Milam and Elaine. Rev. and Mrs. John Batchelor and Cynthia, and James McLain all of Clifton Hill, Mo., were Tuesday afternoon visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield. Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndall Watson were hosts to the group at supper at the Watson home that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lyndall Watson and sons and Mrs. Earl Mansfield caller on Mrs. S. C. Warren and Joyce at Elkhorn Sunday after noon. The Ash Grove Junior Live stock 4-H club met July 30 at the Victor Miller home. The leaders, Fred Stlckney and Elton Erickson showed how to shear calves, then they went to each members home and sheared their calves. Richard and Paul Scoles dropped out of the club. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fosnot, Jim and Jennifer returned from their California trip Wednesday, they spent that night and Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards, they also spent the weekeend at the Richards home and Jim looked after the chores while Mr. Richards went to Perkins county on business. Mr. and Mrs. Aren Kolb took Charlene to Camp Cedars near Cedar Bluffs, Sunday, Charlene will spend a week in camp there. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson attended commencement exer cises at the University In Lin coln Friday, Mrs. Nelson's brother Don Sandy of York re ceived his M. A. degree at that time. Larry Roeber and John Earl Jones played their accordions in the recital given by the Hospe school of music in Play land Park in Omaha Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Jones and Elaine and Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Roeber and sons attended the musical. Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Robert Maack and family, Mrs. Clarence Peterson and Harold Peterson went to Lincoln Sunday and joined Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Man ske of Ceresco and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gerdts and Patty and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gerdts Jr. and family, all of Wahoo, for a family picnic at Pioneer Park. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield were Monday supper guests of Mrs. Willa Weldon and Mrs. Moble Milam. A picnic dinner was enjoyed on the lawn of the Freeman Haase home Sunday, those pre sent were, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reed and Evelyn and Mr. and Mrs. Mervel Reed and family all of Waverly, Mouras and Alice Hall of Lmcoln, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Haase and Donald and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kupke. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hum ston and Sara went to Decatur Sunday to visit Mrs. Humston's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Bluford Cannon and family, Mr. Cannon returning to the Veterans hos pital in Omaha that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lambert and sons joined a group of eighteen relatives for a picnic at Peter Pan park in Linco:n Sunday, they were honoring Mrs. Glen Williss of Prairie Home on her birthday. Lowell Umland attended the wedding ceremony of a frater nity Theta Chi brother, Robert Starr, at Cozad Sunday. The bride was also a Nebraska Wes leyan student. Mr. Starr gradu ated in June. Mr. Umland was one of the attendants for the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips, and her sister and husband of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds, and another sister, Helen Walker enjoyed a trip and outing ride, visiting several cousins from Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Sioux City, Iowa on Sundav. They visited an ill cou sin at Sioux Citv Hospital suf fering a malignant illness and also an uncle, Ed Eradstratter, 84 years old, at Sioux City, re-1 turning home 1:ite Sunday eve- nine. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stewart and daughter, Sharon, of Day ton, Ohio, are visiting his mother' Mrs. Hallie Stewart for a few days enroute to his former re- sidenee, Imperial and also visit his sister and family Jean Mu riel Fred Wilsons near Imperial; and will continue on to Estes Park Colo., and return to Ea gle in 2 weeks enroute home. Dr. Hubert Stewart of Pawnee City, called at the home of his mother, Mrs. Hallie Stewart and the visiting brother, Earl Stew-, art's of Davton, Ohiol for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Art Thomsons and family of Palmyra and Mr. and Mrs. Paul B Johnson and family of Alvo visited the Mines, aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Umland. Sunday evening. The David Pugh family are moving to the Mrs. Floyd Pope faim .soon. Tom Dysart of Osceola, Iowa visited at the Wm. Trumble home for a few davs last week. Mr. and Mrs. Roland For ter of Lincoln spent Sunday eve ning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Tena Butt. Pamela Glast r. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Glsaer of Lincoln enjoyed a week vacation at the home of her grandmother Mrs. Tena Butt. She returned home Saturday evening with her mother, Mrs. Thelma Glaser. Mrs. Carrie Schmidt took quite ill io Sunday afternoon and the doctor was called. However, .she is now considerably improved at this writing and advised to remain in bed for a few days. B. S. College (Business Adminis tration) University of Nebraska at the commencement exerci ses last Friday evening at Lin coln summer session class. Mrs. Harold Wall has been ill with a sciatic ailment and unable to get around very com fortably for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lee and grandson Jimmy Masi of Los Angeles have been visiting a week at her sisters'. Misses Freda and Caroline Reitter, and continued on to Illinois Friday to visit relatives. Wilson home in Omaha and held a family fathering and picnic dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lange of Omaha called at the Lester Ten nant home. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mathsrs Mr. and Mrs. Jim Derby drove to Tekamah Sundav and visited relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Hennings and family called at the Arnold Vogler home Thursday evening. Mrs. Vogler returned home in the afternoon from the hospital. Her hand is doing very well and she will use it when healed. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Albert, Ray and Kay, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Striker of Omaha visited Sunday at the Ray Parcell home in Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Derby and Penny visited friends and relatives in Kansas Wednesday till Sunday. Dinner guests at the Leroy Derby home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Beauford Clinkenbeard and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ar thur Derby, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Derby and Jerry of Avoca Iowa.
