Afternoon guests were Mr. and Mrs. Rubin Davis and family of Sabetha, Kansas. Linda Hoback of Sabetha, remained for an in definite visit with her grand mother. Carol Lemley of Omaha has spent the past two weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hines. Mrs. Gladys Sta hurski, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stahurski and family, all of Omaha, were guests for the day Thursday of the Hines. Mrs. John Bagley, who spent the win ter in Winterhaven, Florida ar rived Wednesday for an inde finite stay with the Hines. Connie Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Johnson had her tonsils removed Monday at St. Marys at Nebraska City. Mrs. Faye Blacker of Syra cuse and Mrs. Henning Johnson went to Luverne, Minn., to spend the weekend and brought back their mother, Mrs. Sam Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chriswisser were dinner guests Sunday of the Walter Engelkemier of Mur ray Sunday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Chriswisser, Plattsmouth; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Berner and family, Louisville. Rev. Fred Gardner, former Methodist minister at Nehawka, visited friends here Tuesday. Rev. Gardner will move to Pier re, S. D., soon where he will have a charge. Mrs. Wallace Amick, McCook, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Del Gur goon, Los Angeles, Calif., were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Banks. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Sugden of Iowa were guests Sunday of the Lewis Royals. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Royal and Kevin of Sy racuse were their supper guests and later all visited at the Otto Straub home to see Mr. and Mrs. Tom Straub and daughter of Cudahy, Wise. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pollard, of Omaha, a son, Dean Moses, 8 pounds, 9 ounces, at Clarkson hospital, Omaha, June 11. The Pollards have another son, Bruce. Mrs. Visa Brown and Paul were guests Sunday afternoon and evening of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Cooper of Nebraska City. Linda Kearney is spending some of her vacation with her cousins at Falls City, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lee and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Pumniell and family of Avoca were guests Sunday evening at the Kearney home. Mr. and Mrs. John Knabe, Harry Knabe and Mrs. Amelia Heldt attended the Hampshire all state picnic at Waverly Sun day. John Larry was a supper guests Sunday at the Harry Knabe home. Jane Fullerton of Lincoln is spending some time with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Har vey Barkhurst. They brought home relatives from Whittier, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Don McClure and Donna for dinner. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ganse mer, Mr. and Mrs. John Knabe and Joe Huber. Mrs. Marion Tucker called in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hoard and family, former Nehawka resi dents, came Tuesday from Tra cy, Calif., to visit relatives and friends. They are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Getchius. All had supper at the Getchius home. Dr. Elton Newman, of Salt Lake City, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Hall Pollard, called the Pollards from the Omaha airport Saturday. He was returning to Salt Lake City following a tour of New York City, Cleveland and Detroit and Ann Arbor, on re search work in the out patient departmnt. Dr. Newman is as sociate professor and acting head of the department of preventive medicine at the University of Utah. Virginia and Tommy Mitchell had their tonsils removed at St. Mary's Hospital at Nebraska Ci ty, Saturday. Mrs. Oren Pollard and Mrs. Raymond Pollard entertained 25 ladies at a benefit for the Ne hawka Woman's Club Friday af ternoon at the Oren Pollard ho me. The birthdays of Mrs. Deane Nutzman and Mrs. Kent Bal four were observed Thursday when relatives came to the Bal four home. Friday evening, Mrs. Balfour was complimented with a family gathering at the home of her mother, Mrs. Helen Pet ersen of Nebraska City. Bonita Lacv, Sharon Dodson, and Gladys Nixon attended 4-H Club Week in Lincoln last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Royal at tended the wedding Saturday morning at Holy Angels Church in Omaha of Miss Marv Louise Morrow and Mr. Richard Morris both of Omaha. Others who attended from this locality were Mr. and Mrs. Fran Royal and Kevin, Syracuse; Hen ry Van Ackern, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Read, Palmyra; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Van Ackern, and fam. ily, Unadilla. Miss Morrow is a niece of the Royals, Van Ack erns and Reads. SPC-3 Tom Straub and Mrs. Straub and daughter, Theresa of Cudahv. Wise, arrived Sat urday to spend several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Straub and his grandmother, Mrs. O. D. Straub. Mrs. Tony Wirth attended the funeral of her aunt.
