The Fairview Extension Club met with Ethel Strabel. As this was the la.t meeting until Sep tember there was no special les son. Each member had a share in the entertainment. Septem ber meeting will be with Tres sie Mendenhall. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Langhorst of Sugar City, Colo., spent a week here visiting at his sisters' homes, the Syd Moores and the Wm. Atchisons. also with her sister at Falls City. Frances Zoz of Omaha spent a weekend visiting her sister, Mrs. Julia Barta and other rela tives. Bill Zoz, son of Wm. Zoz, who is stationed at Ft. Sill, Okla. i visited relatives and friends here and at Murdock last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Krecklow, David, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lyle drove to Hartington Monday to take in the 75th anniversary of the town. This was where Mrs. Krecklow grew to womanhood so she so much enjoyed seeing old friends., They returned Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. G. it. Eveland drove to Ohio last week to at tend Eveland's brother's golden wedding. Accompaning them were grandchildren, Bruce and Krlstie Eveland and going as far as Indiana to see her son and family was F. M. Robb, Mrs. Howard Pool, George and Linda, also Allen Eveland, went on the train to attend the golden wed ding. Grandmother stayed at the home of the Herold Kreck low during their absence. Callers at the home of Mrs. Lena Fischer and Mary, Sunday were John Fischer of Eagle, Lee Fischer of Lincoln and Maxine Eidenmiller of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winkler of Lincoln visited his sister, Mrs. Lula Kunz on Sunday. They also called on Maud and Jessie Creamer. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hulfish visited his mother and Brother Herbert, also sister, Mrs Belle Coakley last Sunday. They re side in Lincoln. Story of Lin coln and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Bishop. Most of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gonzales' children were visiting them this week. They were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gonzales and Scott, of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Mrs. Ivan Jones, Jerry and Pam, Kathleen Rice of Muskogee, Okla., Ronald Me William 5 and family Hopkins, Minn, and Mrs. Merle McWilllams and family of Climax, Colo. Mrs. Grace Plybon entered Bryan Hospital June 3 for a course of teratments. She ex pected to be there 2 weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Miller were guests of her sister in Lincoln, the Clyde Dann's, in honor of Mrs. Miller's birthday. They were also guests at a neice's near Nebraska City, the Year sly's. Mrs. Gussie Jockcns was a din ner guest of Mrs. Bertha O.ter tag Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Hill enter tained at 6 o'clock dinner Sun day in honor of the birthlay of his father, Grover Hill. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Grover Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Vernen Hill, Mrs. Emil Rieke and from Lincoln, the Boyd Hills. Also Mr. and Mrs. Harry Marshall of Elm wood. Mrs Grace Blessing attended funeral Fervices for her uncle Ralph Walker at Swea City, Iowa, last week. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tolhurst and Mrs. Harry Volpe of Lincoln. Mrs. Ruth Monning and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Juilfs attended the funeral services of William Monning at Burr, June. He was Mrs. Monning's brother-in-law. Mrs. Dale Fleishman reports that the Rueter annual reunion will be June 22 at Bethany Park in Bethany. Guy Clements was taken ill very suddenly last Sunday morn ing and was taken to Bryan hospital for observation. How ever he much better now and will probably be home in a few days. It is reported that Marjorie Schlophoff of Murdock is also in the hospital for observation at this time. Mrs. Esther Bornemeier and Mrs. Dale Fleishman attended funeral services for an uncle, George Stolz, at Milford. He was 87 yrs. of age. They report that Rev. Bliss, formerly of Elmwood assisted with the services. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ben nett of Tulsa, Okla are visiting his sisters, Mrs. R. M. Dennis and Mrs. Clara Zunbrum. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Dennis and family spent the weekend in Elmwood visiting his mother, Mrs. R. M. Dennis and her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Fin lay and were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. W. Den nis, Terry and Tommy. They re side in Bellevue. The ingoing and outgoing of ficers of the WSCS held a. train ing meeting in the Fellowship Room, Monday, which was pre ceded by a covered dish lunch eon at noon. Mrs. Kuehn in structed the new officers. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bronn were dinner guests at their daugh ters home the Martin Strieks near Murdock where several bir thdays were celetiated. Honor guests were Perry Bronn, June 5; Joyce James, June 5; Stevie Bronn, June 10 and Mrs. Boyd Bronn, May 31. Mrs. Syd Moore entertained several friends Monday after noon with a coffee in honor of Mrs. Clista Combs of Douglas, Wyo., who is visiting here. Supper guests Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fleischmann in Manley were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gade of Ashland. Monday evening callers at the Fred Bauers and Lizzie Bauers home in Manley were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sehaefer and children of Spokane, Wash.. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sehaefer of Mur dock and Mrs. Anna Harms. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pearson and family of Manley visited Thursday evening at the Donald Lorenson home in Plattsmouth. Mrs. Gretchen Heil of Platts mouth visited Saturday at the William Knutson home. Visitors the past week at the Frank Nichols home were Mr. and Mrs. M. Chemris of Eliza beth, N. J. Mr. Chemris return ed home but Mrs. Chemris re mained for a longer visit with her daughter. Memorial Day guests at the Ivan Thomas home were the Misses Nellie Shadboldt and Blanche Graham of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Edward and family have moved to Avoca where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fleisch mann of Manley and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gade of Ashland attended the wedding of the granddaughter of the Fleisch mann's recently in Kansas City, Mo. The Kraft and Nitz family re union was held Sunday at the City Hall with over 75 present. Lamarr Kraft and others from Texas and Colorado were pre sent besides Lincoln, Omaha and several towns in Nebraska. Memorial Day weekend gu ests at the E. C. Alfrey home were Mr. and Mrs. David Alfrey and family of Beatrice. Harry Wirth entered the Vet erans Hospital in Omaha Tues day for a checkup and under went surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meisinger were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer in Lincoln. Sunday evening callers at the Wendell Feiehner home were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pickett and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Niles Donnelson of Mount Lake Terrace, Wash., were guests last week of their sisters and families. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hennings and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hubbell.
