Supper guesUs at the home of Grace Wood Sunday were her nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wood, Susan and Mary Alice of Weeping Water. The group drove to Lincoln the next day. Thirteen members of the Gar den Club toured the iris gar den of the Arnold Schlieferts, May 17. A family get together was held at the home of Dr. Roland Ty son, May 25 in Murray. Present were Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Robb Augusta Robb, and from Cam bridge was Mrs. Noel Tyson and her daughter and 2 children Mrs. Ann Tedrow of Scandia, Kan. Mrs. George Blessing received word that her brother, Kendell Kitzel, who was in Clarkson hospital in Omaha for surgery was able to go to his home in Fairbury. The Tolhurst - Blessing fam ily picnic took place last Sunday in Pioneer Park. Jacobsen of Merna cousin of Mrs. Ed James, visited during the week at the James home then went to Syracuse to spend Decoration Day at the home of Mrs. Raymond Jacob sen. Mr. and Mrs. Ed James visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Peter.-en in Omaha last week, and who brought them home Tuesday on their way to Ogden, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Arnold drove to Western Friday morn ing in observance of Memorial Day and in the afternoon they drove to Tobias. Both towns were thi'ir old home towns. Hat tie Coe of Lincoln accompanied them. The usual family Memorial Day picnic was held at the Ruth Manning home Friday. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mills Dave and Judy; Mrs. Stuart Mills, George, Stevie, Harvey and Dorothy Jean; Mr. and Mrs Fred Rudolph of Malcolm; Mr and Mrs. Phil Ziemann, Robby of Daykm; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hinrich, Ronnie and Kristie of Pleasant Dale; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Juilis, Kathleen, Keith, Karen and Claire; Miss Grace Wood; Mrs. Emily Gonzales and Miss Jessie Bragg (Raymond). Mr. and Mrs. Don Erikion of Omaha called on her mother, Mrs. Laura Hollenbeck and to gether decorated at the ceme tery. The Melvin Juilfs family, Mrs. Emily Gonzales and Mrs. Ruth Monning drove to Sterling Sun day to visit at the Louis Hor- stman home. Thev intended to visit Wm. Moenning in the Te cumseh hospital but learned he passed away at noon. He was a brother to the late Henry Mon ning and was 78. Sunday the McCrory family reunion was held at Capital Beach, Lincoln with about 50 present. They came from Oma ha, Lincoln, Falls City, Ashland, Mound City, Mo., Big Springs, Murdock and Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mc Crory drove to Greeley, Colo., to visit their daughter and family, the Ed Nelsons also his sister Lois Brown and family in Wyo. They returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Verner Perry of Big Springs accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buell and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Doer, went to Eight Mile Grove and to Platts mouth to decorate graves there. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Arnold, accompanied by Harriet Arn old drove to Sioux Falls, S. D., Monday to attend the wedding of the Richard Arnolds' daughter. They returned Tuesday. Mrs. Emma Lorenz underwent surgery on one eye at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, May 27. She is now at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Chambers, McClelland, Iowa, for several weeks. Mrs. Guy Clements stayed with her during her stay at the hospital, which was a week. Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hermance and Jo Ann of Lincoln spent Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bickford Saturday night and Sunday with and Reggie. Mr. and Mrs. Verner Kaffen berger and Mrs. Emma Kalfen berger of Plattsmouth were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meisinger and family. Monday evening guests at the Meisinger home were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bergmann and Debbie. LCPV Extension Club met on Thursday afternooij at the home cf Mrs. Harold Meisinger. Mrs. Russell Meyers and Mrs. Alice Albcrs were guests. Mrs. Robert Bergmann presented the lesson on "Tots at the Table." Mr. and Mrs. Gene Burgen and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Clark of Lincoln attended the Alumni banquet Saturday evening at the Agricultural Auditorium and were overnight and Sunday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed gar Burgen. Mr. and Mrs. Clark were also supper guests. Mrs. John Heebner returned to Weeping Water after spend ing part of the winter in Den ver with her daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wright and Mr. and Mrs. James Jabot. The fourth grade with their teacher Kathryn Ellis went to Nebraska City Tuesday. Mrs. Hubert Cappen is a pa tient at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln. She underwent surgery. Karen and John Cappen are staying with an aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freeman spent the week-end in Grand Island with Mr. and Mrs. Leo MeCann. The Thrifty Thimble 4-H club met at the home of Mrs. Stan ley Wood Friday. Election of of ficers was held with the follow ing elected: president. Mary A lice Wood; vice president, Vir gnia Farris; secretary-treasurer, Susan Wood reporter, Maribelle Elliott. The Royal Neighbor Club met Friday in the lodge hall. Mrs. Elvira Bus.-:ell conducted the meeting. Hostesses were Mrs. Wilson Bickford and Mrs. Byron Baker. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilken (his father) and other relatives and friends. The Vacation Bible School clo.-ed last Thursday and gave their program Sunday night at the Christian Church. The director was Rev., Ebinger. Jessie Bragg of Raymond helped the 2nd week in all classes. The Elmwood H. S. Alumni Association held their ban quet at the Community building May 29 with 206 present. The 50 years honor class was composed of 16 members and of the 10 living, 7 were present: San ford Clements, Alma Cle ments, Grace Wood, Edna Let ter Miller, Fara Eidenmiller Manner, Lois Dickson Grinde and Ethel Christensen Strabel. Millard Lefler was their princi pal and he was present to in troduce the class. Alfred Wilken spoke for the class of 1933 and was introduced by Spencer Leger who had been their Supt. Margaret Borne meier Schoenberg was their toastma.ster. The 8 members present were: Margaret Borne m?ier, Edna Fleishman Borne meier, Leona Springer Pedigo, Mabel Sterner Stewart. Donald Hollenbeck, Raymond Vogt, Al fred Wilken and Lois Turner Fey. After the banquet, they met at the Raymond Vogt home for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lindsey visited Sunday with Mrs. Car rie Lindsey who is a patient at St. Mary's hospital in Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. George Bates at tended a family picnic Sunday at the Plattsmouth Park. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nickels of Platts mouth were also guests. Mrs. Clifford Cooper entered the St. Mary's hospital in Ne braska City on Sunday even ing and underwent surgery on Monday. Susan and Ronnie Schwarz of Murray are staying every morn ing for two weeks with Mrs. Stanley Schroedcr while their mother, Mrs. Victor Schwarz Is superintendent of the junior de partment at the Bible School. Mrs. II. W. Baughman and John Baughman, Mrs. William Anderson and two children of Omaha were Wednesday guests of Mrs. Frank Pace. Saturday evening guests of Mrs. Pace were Mrs. Joe Sheehan and Margie, Kenneth Ritter and Rocky and Renee Sheehan. Chapter BT, PEO met on Fri day afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. G. Steckley. Miss Hazel Pool and Mrs. E. E. Lorensen presented the program. This will be the last meeting until Octo ber. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Day at tended funeral services on Fri day for a cousin, Theodore Rho des at Frankfort, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vincent of Los Angeles, house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rehmeier, were hosts to dinner at the City Cafe for the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reh meier, Leslie Wiles. In the evening they drove to Lincoln where they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Joyce to see the new baby Jerry Charles. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Steinkamp and family of Louis ville were Sunday evening sup per guests at the Ed Stein kamp home. Mrs. Adam Cook, Mrs. Maude Philpot and Mrs. Edna Philpot visited Monday morning with Mrs. Guy Murdoch at Nehawka. Mrs. Adam Cook received word of the death of a cousin, Edgar Barrett of Shauho, Montana. He was the son of the Wilborn Bar rett's, fromer resident of Weep ing Water. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schultz and boys of Walton were Mem' orial Day guests Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston and David Li vingston. They visited the cem eteries at Louisville and Platts mouth. . Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston attended graduation exercises Wednesday evening at Fremont for a nephew, Earl Stander. They went on to Omaha where they met David Livingston of Tonkawa, Oklahoma who will help out with the farm work at the Livingston home for a couple weeks. He has been chosen to attend Boys State in Oklahoma and will also attend Youth Con ference so he will return home June 19. Mrs. Clifford Cooper returned home from the St. Mary's hos pital In Nebraska City on Sat urday. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Eidenmiller called Saturday evening on Mrs. Cooper. Sun day guests at the Cooper home were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ur win of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Cooper of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kobler of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooper and family. Mrs. Mabel Mickle and daugh ter Bonnie and grandson Randy of Lincoln called Wednesday to see Mrs. Cooper at the hospital and the Clayton Cooper family were evening visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Cook and girls of Alvo and Mr. and Mrs. George Bornemeier of Elmwood were visitors the past week of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook. Mr. and Mrs. II. V. Christen sen, Larry Hansen, Alan Spang ler and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Duwe and David enjoyed a trip to the Black Hills in South Da kota. They left May 24th and returned May 28th.
