Stone were din ner guests Wednesday of Mrs. Amelia Balfour. Dorothy Sand, Cumberland, Md., arrived by plane Saturday to spend two weeks with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Sand. Julie Zech, Douglas, came Thursday to spend several days with the Sands. Mr. and Mrs. Zech accompanied them home and will spend a week with them. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Deterding, Murray, were guests at a bar becue at the Jake Stapert home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shrader received word of the birth of a great grandson, Marion Louis Allgayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Allgayer of Lincoln on May 21 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mayfield, Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Allgayer, Weeping Water, great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Mayfield, Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Shrader. Gene and Gary Mayfield of Garland are here for the sum mer to help their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shrader, with the farming. Mrs. Jack Lind sey's girls made biscuits. The second year girls studied fitting patterns under the direction of Mrs. Balfour. All members were present. The next meeting is with Neila Pierce. The Sheep Club met recently with Susan and Carol Balfour. Roll call was ' Suggest a Name of the Club." Carol Balfour's name received the most votes and the club was named "The Wool Gatherers." A new member is Ed Behrns. Mr. Richard Kil burz, assistant county agent was present. The next meeting will be with Marion Wiles June 20. at 8 p.m. Carol and Susan Balfour will give the parts of a lamb. Ed Be hrns will tell how to make a feed bunk. Mrs. Martin Ross presented the lesson and Mrs. Sheldon Mit chell the devotions Wednesday when the WSCS met at the Me thodist church. Mrs. Harvey Barkhurst presided. Annual re ports of officers were given. There was also a report of the dinners served the past year. Mrs. J. J. Pollard installed the new officers. Lewiston Social Circle The Lewiston Social Circle met at the home of Mrs. Lulu Wolfe May 13, with Mrs. Lloyd Lewis as co-hostess. The meeting was called to order by president, Mrs. Jesse Jorgensen and Club Creed read in unison. Song leader, Mrs. Harry Gobelman led the group In singing, accompanied by Mrs. Lora Faris. Roll call was ans wered by 14 members with one guest present. Treasurer report given with report of proceeds on recent bake sale. The President gave report to those unable to attend the ama tuer program at Lewiston Com munity Center, also reported on Council Meeting. It was voted to pay dues for Cass County Fe deration of Women.s Clubs. Pre sident, Mrs. Jorgensen told of the enjoyable day as guest of Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Annual Family Club picnic will be held at the Lewiston Community Center June 22. Lesson on Creative Design was presented by Mrs. Frank Fitz patrick. Curvy Stitchers The Curvy Stitchers 4-H Club met at the Lewiston School Wed nesday to elect officers for the coming year. Those elected were president, Wanda Hostetter; vice president, Lucy Sporer; secretary, Donna Campbell; treasurer, Sandra Cottingham and news reporter, Marlene West. Other members include, Linda Hostetter, Karon Hostet ter, Diane Jorgensen, Shirley Seimoneit, Sharon Splitt and three new members, Lucy Sporer, Dona Sporer and Linda Mars hand. The next meeting will be held at the home of Sharon Splitt June 11. news reporter, Marlene West. Mrs. Nettie Hubbard, Platts mouth, visited over the weekend with Mrs. Margaret Brendel. Jerry Sayers has been moved from the St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City to the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. lie Is able to be up and walking around and seems to be gaining fast. Eugene Farris was able to be released from the St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday, May 13. Dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Rhuel Sack were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sack and family of Superior, Nebraska and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sack and Ellen. Hild of Louisville, Neb., assisted in the launching of the army's Redstone Missile at Cape Canaveral, Fla., the army an nounced today. This marked the first time that a large ballistic missile has been fired by a team of U. S. military personnel. The launching of the 62-foot missile marked the completion of one year of extensive train ing of Hild's unit, "the 40th Field Artillery Missile Group. The training was conducted by the Army Ballistic Missile Agency at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. Hild, son of Mr. and Mrs. Er nest A. Hild, is a rocket launch er crewman in Battery B of the group's 217th Field Artillery Battalion at Redstone Arsenal.
