"Work tickets" for persons parking in Plattsmouth's meter ed zones while they are on a job of work were discussed Mon day night by the City Council. No decision was reached on whether special parking privil eges ought to be granted work ers on the 1ob. Council mem bers will study the matter. Two construction workers, at work in Plattsmouth, were at the meeting to ask the Council for some special consideration. It was pointed out that in past years the city has sold an an nual parking permit at $12 a year ior persons, particularly those who Dark regularly on Main Street to load or unload. However, the citv clprk sain none has been sold this year and only three or four were sold last year. The custom, not coverpd hv ordinance, began several vears ago when sacks to cover the meter heads were sold. Then stickers were used and finally in the past couple years "work tickets" were written to cover the situation an ordinary park ing ticket was marked "work ticket" and used in lieu of plac ing coins in the meter. Whether this was done by any authority or not was not deter mined Monday night. No official action to allow the practice had ever been taken, it was said, i The workers nrpRpnt. snirt thou ' thought a special privilege ought to be allowed for persons who have tools to deliver to a job, both for the convenience of the worker and courtesy to the par ty having the work done. The question, a Council mem ber said, was where to draw the line on granting the privilege. He said all persons should be treated alike and it would be hard for an enforcement officer to determine whether a vehicle were parked at a meter for work purposes. A councilman asked whether the two men requesting the pri vilege had paid occupation tax es here. They said they hadn't, that they only work here (though they live here) when their main employment in Omaha slackens. Another Councilman said he didn't see how anyone could a vold paying an occupation tax if such tax is provided by ord inance. Further discussion on the parking question was indicated for the next Council meeting.
