A 4i m Nehawka Lady Dies At Nebraska City Tuesday Mrs. Virginia Edmunds, 25, Nehawka, died Tuesday at the St. Mary's hospital in Nebraska City. Mrs. Edmonds has been stay ing with her parents in-law Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert C. Edmunds Sr., in Nehawka. She is skvi ved by three snail sons at home and an infant born at the hospit al early Tuesday. The husband Gilbert C. Ed munds, Jr., is employed in Wyo ming and funeral arrangements await the arrival of the husband lrom the west. Mrs. Edmunds was the former Virginia Clark of Auburn. Death Of Rev. Harry Cole At Omaha Friday Rev. Harry E. Cole, 67, died Friday at the family home, 4734 No. 15th Ave., Omaha. He is a former resident of Weeping Wa ter, his parents the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfonso Cole, old resi dents of that city. Survivors are the wife, Pansy, Omaha; son, James, Waterloo, la.; daughters, Mrs. Gladys Funker, Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. El vena Carpenter, Phoenix, Ariz., Roy (Shorty ) Cole, Plattsmouth, Glenn, Chester, 111.; sisters, Mrs. Sudeth, both of Lincoln. Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock at Crosby-Kunold Mortuary at 33rd and Farnam Streets, Omaha. Burial was at Oakwood Ceme tery, Weeping Water. Miss Jessie M. Robertson was in Omaha Sunday to attend a council meeting of the Auxil iary of Spanish War Veterans. Death Of Charles L. Frecsc, Former Resident Here Word was received here Thurs day evening by Mrs. Don C. York, of the death of her bro ther, Charles L. Freese, 72, Ven tura, Calif., on Thursday morn ing. He was son of Mr. and Airs. William F. Freese, residents here a great many years. Char lie was b6rn at Kalamazoo, Mich., Jan. 3, 1835, and was brought to Nebraska by the par ents at an early age. The fam ily resided in the Syracuse area for sometime before moving. Charlie was twelve years old. Charlie grew up in this city and received his 'education, in the local schools. On leaving school he was apprenticed in the machinest trade in the lo cal Burlington shops. He was married in this city to Miss Margaret, Lair, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Lair, Later they located at Scotts bluff, where for a number of years he was engaged in the mechanical department of the beet sugar factory. Later Mr. Freese moved to Oxhard, Calif., where he was superintendent of the mechanical department of the Allis-Chalmers Co., until he was forced to retire on ac count of ill health, due to a heart ailment. Mr. and Mrs. Freese were par ents of a son, Charles William. The mother passed away and Mr. Freese was later remarried. Surviving are the widow, the son, Charles William, both of California; two sisters, Mrs. L. V. Copenhaver, Harlengen. Tex , Mrs. Don C. York, of Platts mouth, several nieces and neph ews. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah, Sr. are vacationing in Waukesha Wise, where they are visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Drennan. They expect to be gone about 10 clays. Mr. and Mrs. George Stine, Mrs. Carl Cross and Miss Iva Mougey attended the Cass Coun ty Sunday School Convention at Alvo Oct. 15. Relatives and friends in Un ion and Murray were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. John Vantine in Hollywood, Calif., last Thursday, Oct. 10. Her body was sent from there to Nebras ka City, where funeral services were held at the Peterson Mor tuary. On Sunday afternoon wiih burial in the Wyoming Ceme tery, where her late hisband is buried. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. C. B. Smith of Hollywood, Calif., several grand and great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews, two brothers, Mr. James Brown of Omaha and Mr. Will Brown of Minneapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ander son drove to Ashland last Sun day where Frank took pictures of a railroad wreck. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Dysart are spending a week at Wayne, visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Burr Stand ley.
