Larry Wheatley, Miss Cummings Wed EAGLE (Special i Larry Wheatley, son of Mrs. Viola Wheatley, Palmyra and Eagle was married Saturday afternoon at the home of Reverend F. C. Webber of the Cheney Evangel ical United Brethren Church to Miss Jacciuelyn Irene Cummings daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Cummings of Cheney. The bride wore an afternoon frock of beige lace over taf feta, fashioned with a fitted bod Ice and v-neckline outlined in lace lapels. The flared skirt was accented with a pleated motif back panel. Her small pink Juliet hat was trimmed with rhinestones and nose veil. Mrs. Gerald Burge of Eagle attended t,he bride and Ray Martin of Palmyra was grooms man. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for the immediate families. The couple will make their home near Eagle. Mr. And Mrs. Schutz Leave For Trip East Mr. and Mrs. John E. Schutz departed by train Wednesday noon for a two weeks vacation trip to Falls Church, Va. At this city they will visit Mrs. Schutz's daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. George Scott and two sons. Also at the Frank Scott home in Alexandria, Va., and will enjoy many sightsee ing trips. Navy Mothers Club Meets Friday Evening Navy Mothers Club met at Con sumers Club Rooms Friday eve ning with Mrs. Fred Essert and Mrs. Genevieve Hayes as Host esses. Mrs. Margaret Covert, the commander, presided at the business meeting which opened by presentation of colors and oening prayer by the chapllan. A card of thanks from "Roy wood family was read and in vitation to Tri-State Rally at Mc Cook was received. Members will try to send a delegate to this rally. It was voted to take part in the G. I. Parade at the KKK Saturday night, and further plans were made for a stand at the Karnlval. Mrs. Mae Favors reported having sent eight cards and a potted plant. Mrs. Rea, hospital chairman, reported the visit to Veterans Hospital August 13, for the games party. Mrs. Rea, Mrs. Covert and Mrs. Helen Vroman were hostesses at the Hospital. The next trip will be in Oct. The meeting closed with the retiring of colors and a prayer for peace. Refreshments were served. Tim Woster Is Birthday Celebrant Members of the Tim Woster family celebrated Mr. Woster's birthday at Riverview Park, Sunday, with a picnic lunch. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Sindelar, Susan, Tom, Kath y, Billy, Mary Jo and Barbara Ann; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woster; Mr and Mrs. Roy Murray; Mrs. B. Ulrich, Elly, Vicky, Priscilla Vicky, Marcia, and Bonnie, all of Omaha. Teague have returned from their wed ding trip to Missouri following their wedding, Sept. 8, at the Christ Lutheran Church Platts mouth. The bride, the former Nancy Lee Siemoneit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August' Siemoniet, Plattsmouth, was given in mar riage by her father to Don W. Teague, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Teague, Bellevue. Mrs. Joanne Scholting and Mrs. John Ahrens, Jr., present ed the wedding music. Dr. A. B. Lentz, D. D., offi ciated at the 7:30 p. m. double ring wedding ceremony before the altar decorated with bas kets of yellow, white and pink gladioli. Dona Jolene Steppat lighted the tapers. The bride wore a floor length gown of chantilly lace and tulle. The snug bodice was finished with long tapered sleeves and Queen Anne collar. The full skirt of lace was over a tulle ruffled skirt. Her fingertip il lusion veil was caught with a jewelled crown. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow ro ses. Sara Jane Teague of Belle vue, sister of the bridegroom, was honor attendant, and bri desmaids were Miss Carol Pot schies and Miss Deanna Hut ton and bridesmatron was Mrs. Dennis Hirz. Barbara Lawson, niece of the bride, was llower girl. Steven A. and L. Randall Lawson, neph ews of the bride, were ring bearers. Ervin Siemoneit, York, broth er of the bride was best man. Dennis Hirz,, Richard McCub bin and Richard McGinnis, of Bellevue, ushered. The bride's mother wore a dress of navy blue crepe with white accessories. The bride groom's mother chose a black tweed ensemble with matching assessories. Both wore cor sages of white glamellias. The reception was held in the church parlors where Beverly Sullivan and Shirley Hild cut and served the cake. Beverly Schmidt also assisted at the re ception. Mrs. Ervin Siemoneit, York, Attends Meeting Of A. L. Auxiliary Mrs. Donald J. Warga, past president of the Plattsmouth American Legion Auxiliary was guest speaker of the American Legion Auxiliary at Union, Tues day afternoon. This was guest day of the Union group, Mrs. Warga being a guest of Mrs. Mary Gobelman. Mrs. Warga's part of the pro gram was a Counselor's Views on Girl State. Relatives Arrive For Sunday Wedding Ray Adkins, Jr., of Denver, Colo., and fiancee, Donna Ernst, of this city and Mrs. Harvey Berns of Colorado Springs, Colo, arrived in Plattsmouth Tuesday morning. Mr. Adkins and Miss Ernst are to be married Sunday at the Methodist Church. Mr. Adkins is a guest of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Redd while Mrs. Behns is a houseguest in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Elliott. Miss Ernst is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ernst. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Adkins Sr., Mrs. Jean Taylor and son,, Charles, of Denver, Colo., are expected to arrive later this week to attend the wedding. Miss Cass County To Be KKK Countess Another Coronation RovUlty has been announced. Miss Laur el Ann Bornemeier, Miss Cass County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boremeier of Mur- dock is to be a countess repre senting her town of Murdock at the KKK Coronation ceremony this evening. Her escort will be Richard Reeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al- vin Reeter, also of Murdock. Mrs R R Anderson, Nehaw ka, visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Henry Thiele Wednes day afternoon Daughter Attorney and Mrs. Harold Le bens are the parents of a daughter, Gertrude Marie, born Sept. 13 at an Omaha hospital, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces. A. Fagan, and Donald William Piening, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Piening, Green wood, took place Sept. 16, at the Christ Methodist Church. Reverend Frank Kirtley of Waverly1 officiated. Marilyn Johnson of Waverly, organist, played the wedding music. Rol land Sandberg of Waverly was soloist, Miss Janet Hand of Seward was maid of honor; Mrs. Myron Rapp, was the bridesmatron. Miss Elaine Piening of Green wood and Miss Diane Hilyard lighted the chancel candles. Duane Lostroh was best man. Ushers were Marvin McKay of Waverly, Myron Rapp and Lyle Hall. The bride was gowned in white chantilly lace and tulle smooth ed over satin. Tiny pearls and iridescent sequins patterned the lace to frame the sabrina neck line and long, tapered sleeves completed the fitted bodice of lace. Alternate panels of tulle and lace formed the very full skirt, and her illusion veil was held by a crown cap of lace and pleated tulle dotted with sequins. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses. t Following the recepton which was held in the church parlors, the couple left for a short wed ding trip. Merry Workers Meet At Vinduska Home The Merry Workers Extension Club met Sept. 10, at the home of Mrs. Henry Vinduska with Mrs. Frank Topliff as the co hostess. After the prayer and the flag salute, Mrs. Willis Cole led the singing of "School Days." The 16 members present an swered roll by telling their "Child's Favorite Pastime." Mrs. Fred Beins gave a cit izenship report on schools and Mrs. Neal Snell gave an in teresting reading. Plans were made for the KKK float. Members to decorate on the 17th of Sept. at the Henry Vinduska home. Officers elected for the com ing year are: President Mrs. Fred Beins; vice president, Mrs. Ralph Youn ker; secretary, Mrs. Kenneth Todd and treasurer, Mrs. Er nest. Bond. An interesting lesson, "Play in the Lives of Young Children" was given by Mrs. Kenneth Todd and Mrs. Ralph Hild. After the meeting Mrs. Tom Meisinger was honored at a pink and blue shower. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. The next meeting will be Oct. 8 at the home of Mrs. Leonard Harvey with Mrs. Ralph Rath bun, as the co-hostess. James Burr Davis To Marry In June Mr. and Mrs. George Kreis of Catonville, Md., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Carol Lynn, to Midshipman James Burr Davis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burr R. Davis of Wayne. The couple plans to be mar ried next June following Mid shipman Davis' graduation from the US Naval Academy. The prospective bridegroon i the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Vallery of this city. ENGAGED Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A. Weiss announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jeannette Marie, and Douglas A. Study, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Study. Both are grad uates of riattsmoulh High School and are employed in Omaha. The couple is planning a Nov. 10 wedding. California Guests Visit Cappell Home Mrs. Margaret Bell of San Diego and Mrs. Anna McCar thy of Alameda, Calif., are in the city lor a visit at the home of their sister, Mrs. Robert Cap pell and family. They are also to visit another sister, Mrs. Frank Downey, of Lincoln. This is the first time the sis ters have had the opportunity of being together for a reunion for some time. Mrs. McCarthy is leaving at the weekend for Chicago where she will visit with Major and Mrs. Edwin Kalina and family. Mrs. Kalina is a daughter of Mrs. McCarthy. VFW Auxiliary Admits Member At Regular Meeting Tuesday The Veterans of Foreign Wars! a 10th anniversary celebration Auxiliary held their regular meeting Tuesday evening in the Club Rooms. Mrs. A . C. Mc Lean presided. One new member, Mrs. Clara A. Rhoden, three re-instatements and one transfer, Mrs. Mary Ann Park, Rod Cloud, were ad mitted to membership. The following committee chairmen gave their reports: Legislation, Mrs. Jack Raines, urged everyone to sign the pe tition to legalize bingo, all pe titions must be in Lincoln by Oct. 20 Cancer, Mrs. Dale Bowman, has applied for financial aid for a member having cancer A check for 50 is to be mailed; to Department for the cancer fund Membership, Mrs. Lloyd Fitch reported 48 paid up members for 58. The members voted to have a pot holder shower for a mem ber who is ill. Mrs. uwen Willis, smorgas bord chairman, reported the menu and all chairmen ready for the annual G. I. Smorgas bord. Mrs. Howard Porter and Mrs. Ray Abel are co-chairman. Hospital, Mrs. LeRoy Wilson, reported on the bingo party at the Veterans Hospital, Aug. 30, with $15 given in prizes Mrs. Hazel Fitch, chairman for the food for the BRE Shop Picnic, reported the money re alized from the project to bi used for the Cancer Fund and the Nebraska Cottage Fund Mrs. Sophia Wolever, past president, reported on plans for ), iiniH Oct. 20. Mrs. Uteri IV and Mrs. Warga will net as co-chairman. The color bearers will carry the colors in the KKK parade Saturday night. Mrs. Jack Raines has received her citizenship papers and was congratulted by the members. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served by the committee. Naomi Circle Meet:, At Bourck Home Nineteen attended the Thurs day afternoon meeting of the Na omi Circle of the Methodist Church. Guests assembled at the homo of Mrs. Fred Bourck. Mrs. Ruth erford gave the devotions and the lessons on Japan by Mrs. Hamilton. Hostesses assisting M r s. Bourck were Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Priece, serving refreshments. Subscribe to The Journal Now!
