A. R. Hall. Mrs. T. W. Rehroeder, Deca tur, 111., and daughter arrived Monday at the home of her mot ti er, telling her of he beau Alice Kuehn, for several weeks visit. Her son. John, was already here, having arrived two weeks ago. On Thursday, they drove to Lewiston, to visit Mrs. Fred Backelman and family where they were overnight guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Stock. Murdock, had a Kuehn family gathering at their home Tues day, honoring Mrs. Stock's sis ter, Mrs. T. W. (Ruth) Schroed er, son and daughter; also Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marshall and two daughters, Canby, Ore. Mrs. Marshall was the former Violet Rosenow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rosenow. There were 28 present, who enjoyed visiting together. Miss Grace Wood had the cast removed from her broken wrist Wednesday and aluminum splints replaced it. I)., where she and two of her unversity friends are em ployed this summer. Many tour ists stoj) at the park and th girls enjoy meeting so many people from different locations. A number of college girls are employed at the park. Mr. and Mrs. Dan llanev and son, Jimmy, and Mrs. Weldon King, all of Lincoln were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward O. Miller Wednesday and spent the clay visiting with them. Mrs. Ruth Monning entertain ed at G o'clock dinner Wednes day at her home. Guests who enjoyed the roast chick dinner were Miss Alma Clements, Miss es Jessie and Maud Creamer. Mrs. Emilv Gonzales, Miss Aug usta Robb, Mrs. Mabel Wood and Miss Grace Wood. Mrs. R. II. Stalcup, Lincoln, and son from California were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hupert Bishop Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seiker re ceived word they have a new granddaughter born June 21. The parents are Mr. and Mrs Robert Pope. Springfield, Mo. They have three girls at home to meet her. The grandmother, Mrs. Ed Seike, went to visit the daughter and family. Mrs. Emily Gonzales visited her nk'cc. Mrs. Ray Potter, Seward, on Tuesday at Bryan Memorial Hospital. She recently underwent surgery and is recov ering quite satisfactorily. Mrs. Potter is a daughter of the late Edith Reeve-Walker. Mariorie is married and has four children. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buell, and Mrs. Jessie Dorr visited Ralph Dorr at the Bryan Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, where he has been having rest and treat ments for a heart condition. Ralph was able to come home on Wednesday, but is expected j to rest at home. Mrs. William (Martha IBorno j meir had the misfortune to fall in her home Thursday morning j and broke her leg and one wrist, j She was taken to Bryan Mem orial Hospital to have the broken j i bones set and to remain for I treatment and rest. Mr. and Mrs. Edward O. On Sunday previous to Mem orial Day, the church of which he was a member, had a brief service paying tribute to all their members who had passed away during the year. They then travelled to Port land, Ore., where they visited Mrs. Wood's daughter and fam ily. They returned to Bonesteel, and after a brief visit with her sister, Mrs. Wood made the re turn trp to Elmwood, complet ing a trip which she reports was very pleasant. Sand Phone 2708 Marilyn Pollard and Sharon Dodson attended 4-H club week in Lincoln on the campus at the University of Nebraska. Following registration Tues day the youths were divided in to special interest groups and then toured the Nebraska Histor cal Society and Morill Hall. A get-acquainted party was held in the evening. Wednesday mornng the 4-H'-ers visited Agricultural Hall and both girls were members of a group of 20 chosen from 192 to appear in a style show. During the afternoon the voung ladies viewed the home ec deparment of University High the boys viewed the athletic department The Chamber of Commerce sponsored a banquet in the eve ning, which was highlighted by the appearance of Miss Nebraska. Activities of Thursday featur ed trips to the Capitol legis-' lature, Plymouth Congregation al Church, Zoo and a picnic at Antelope Park in the evenine. group traveled to Omaha Friday morning where they were shown through the stock yard and pack ing houses. In the Exchange Building they saw a movie. Dur ing the afternoon they went to Offutt Air Force Base. After dinner and program given by the Omaha Chamber of Com merce the youths returned to Lincoln. The purpose of 4-H Club Week was to help bovs and girls be come better leaders and citizens Lanna Martin, Omaha, and Sherry Lee Haffke, Plattsmouth snent the past, week at the Wil liam Jorgenson home. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Plunkett Sr., returned home Wednesday from Monroe City, Mo., where they were guests of ther on. Mr. and Mrs Paul Plunkett. and family for 10 days. Mrs. Marion Tucker. Mrs. Amelia Balfour, Mrs. Will Ost. Mrs. Georpp Sheldon. Mrs. Guv Murdoch, Miss Evelyn Wolnh and Mrs. Oren Pollard attended the meeting of the Cass Countv historical societv at the Chris tian Church at Weeping Water Wednesday noon. The Rebekahs draped the char ter as a memorial service to Mrs. Elsa Anderson at their meeting Thursday at the audi torium. In absence of the noble grand, Dorothy Jose, Esther Barkhurst, vice grand, presided. Hostesses were Mrs. Lucille Johnson and Mrs. Virginia John son. A birthday party honoring Mrs. Arthur Johnson Included Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandt and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad John son, Mr. and Mrs. Julian John son and family. Marlin Kime and Sandra Sta pert were among Mrs. L. Mel singer's accordian pupils who gave a recital at the Lions Club Sunday evening at Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kime and Marlin, Mrs. George Kime and Mr. and Mrs. J. Stapert were those who attended from Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Sloan and children. Briarcliff Manor. N. Y., spent the past week with his parents. From there they will go to Yellowstone Park and Colorado. Mrs. Sloan's guests Thursday morning were Mrs. Bob Dewey, Barbara and Chris and a friend, Emily Seace, all of Hanover. N. H. Mrs. Dew ey is district editor of the Val ley News, and Dewey teaches philosophy at Dartmouth Col lege.
