Members brought a sack lunch and spent the day making plans for a year book and summer activities. Other members of the committee were those who attended the workshop at Crete. Thev also made plans to spend a day at Morrill Hall and Pioneer Park in Lincoln, the date to be set later. Marv Lou Briley News iceporter Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nolte have named their son, Rick Dean. He was born at St. Elizabeth's Hos pital in Lincoln, June 4. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Nolte, Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Beaver, Bennett, and a great grandmother, Mrs. Cora Beavers, Bennett. The Nol te's have two daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Krecklow and family of Okarchce. Okla., arrived Saturday at the Ellis Lacy home to spend several days and then went to Lincoln to visit the George McFaddens and relatives at Alvo and Greenwood. The Krecklows hav ebeen trans ferred to Preston, Kan. where he will teach next year. Other dinner guests Sunday at the Lacy home were Mr. and Mrs. George McFadden of Lin coln. Sylvia O'Connor was a tonsil ectomy patient at St. Mary's Hospital at Nebraska City Tues day. Her guests Saturday were Miss Vesta O'Connor, Omaha, and Arnold O'Connor. Bonnie Lacy went to Platts mouth Tuesday to be the guest of Janelle Meisinger for several days. Harry Knabe, Mr. and Mrs. John Knabe and Mrs. Amelia Heldt attended the state picnic of the Hampshire Associaion at Schuyler Sunday. Supper guests Monday at the Harry Kna be home were Mrs. Earl Hock man, Dorchester, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fitch. Their dinner guests Thursday were Mrs. Frank Pollard, Whittier, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gansemer. and Mr. and Mrs. John Knabe. Ariz., left Sunday evening for their home after spendng a week with the Dan Anderson family and the F. O. Sands. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard visited her brother, Bert White, at Veteran's Hospital in Lincoln. His condition is serious. The Pol lards were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Kitchen. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Anderson and family with Mr. and Mrs. Eno Ahrens of Plattsmouth; Mr Joe Doedyns and three daugh ters of Bishop, Tex., were guests at a breakfast Sunday at the Bob Romans home at Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross, Mr. and Mrs Flovd Joerger spent Sunday fishing at the lakes at Memphis. Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzcr and Gerald attended the weddini' of Wendell Newman at the Meth odist Church at Red Oak at 3 p. m. Sunday. They were din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Newman. Miss Evelyn Wolph received word Monday of the death, June 17, of Rev. Samuel McKeown, pastor of the Nehawka Metho dist Church in 1944-45. He pass ed away at Buffalo, N. Y., where he was living with his daughter. Rev. Raymond Bisden officiat ed at the services at the Carlton A. Ulrich Funeral Home. Burial was at Elm Lawn Cemetery at Bufflo. Rev. McKeown was born November 3. 1876. Dr. and Mrs. Ellis Schlichte meier and family of Spencer, la., were weekend guests of the Rob ert and Stuart Schlichtemeier families. Mrs. Robert Schlichtemeier, Bill and Tom, attended the wed ding of Irma Karel and John Owen at St. Peter's Catholic Church, on Wednesday. August Langcnberg of Cam bridge and J. H. Oehlerking of Archer. In the assignment of the pas tors, Rev. F. C. Ebinger was as signed to the Elmwood-Mur dock Emmanuel Churches; Rev. Richard E. Heim re-assigned to the Murdock Ebenezer Church and Rev. Melvin Shafer to the Mynard Church.
