Tom Dysart of Osceola. Ia.. left Tuesday for his home, after attending the 50 year anniver sary and Honor class at Eagle Alumni Banquet, May 24. He visited a week with friends. LeRoy Folken and sister Mrs. Jack Bell (Berneda Folken and latter's 5', 2 month old daughter of Odessa. Tex., visited a few days at their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Folken. having been called home at the death of their grandmother, Mrs. Fol ken, at Talmadge. Mrs. E. E. Moore, Weeping Water, visited at the home of her daughters, Mmes. Ralph Ransford and Lloyd Richards, during the Memorial weekend. Jack Zinsmasters are new subscribers for the Plattsmouth Journal this week. Rudolph Oberle was taken via ambulance to the hospital on last Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. David Cantley and family of Kenneurick, Wash., are visiting the parents. Mr. an Mrs. Silas Cantley, Eagle, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stray er, Palmyra and other relatives and friends for three weeks. Mr- and Mrs. Stanley Haertel and son Edgewater, Colo., visit ed at Mrs. Haertel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Frohlich, during Memorial weekend. Rev. D. Luebke, who is pas tor of Trinity Lutheran and also supplied at Emmanuel Lutheran at Eagle, is now recovering as rapidly as his many friends had hoped. He suffered a heart ail ment and has been in several weeks. He is at the Lincoln Gen eral Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chidester of Lincoln, former Eagle residents, entertaned with dinner at their home, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ketel hut Saturday evening. Mrs. Harley Smith and grand daughter, Mrs. Arthur Wade, of Lincoln, attended funeral ser vices for Mrs. Carl St a mm at Papillion Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Stamm was a close friend of the Smith's and mother of their son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Moore of Weeping Water and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ransford attended the Lin coln vs. Topeka baseball game at Lincoln recently and also en joyed a picnic supper together, during the late afternoon. Ander son visited at the home of Mrs. Emma Anderson at Lincoln, Friday evening and enjoyed a visit with relatives from Calif ornia. Mrs. A. H. Siekman accom panied by "Mrs. Alma Rohlffs of Lincoln, motored to Hastings Monday, and Harold Siekman will return home, with them to spend a few weeks at the moth er's home and spend his school vacation with her. Mr and Mrs. Henry Westfall attended the Elmwood Alumni banquet Wednesday evening. Mrs. Westfall and her brother were members of the 25 year honor class. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce of the Cedar Hill neighborhood were Sunday evening callers there, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Jones and family attended a McCrory family reunion at Van Dorn Park in Lincon Sunday. There was a large crowd in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Odell and family, Omaha, were weekend guests of Odell 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Odell. James Odell was graduated from high school in Omaha this past week and has since entered the Coast Guard. Mr. and Mrs. Morle Umland, Auburn, spent Saturday after noon and evening with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bond and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Lape visit ed at the home of Mrs. Lape's brother, Marion Schmitz, at Pa pillion, Memorial Day. Linden DeFreece is spending some time with his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Newshani I Nehawka Lads Spend Three Days At Camp Mrs. F. O. Sand Phone 2708 Duane Everett, vocational ag teacher, and three boys of the Nehawka chapter of FFA left May 20, to spend three days at the officers training camp at Fullerton. They boys who went are Don Harvey, Ronald Dick man and Jerry Harshman. They joined 168 other boys from 23 schools for three days of fun and learning. The camp was on the order of a ranch. Points were given to cabins on sports, leadership and cabin neatness. Each morning they op ened with worship, general as sembly, leadership training and lots of recreation. Individual competition was held in ping pong, shuffle board and other activities. Don Harvey was champion in shuffle board. The boys left Wednesday and a new group arrived that after noon. This will continue until all camp for three days. Jerry Harshman News Reporter The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, June 11, at the auditorium. There will be the historian's report by Esther Barkhurst and election of offic ers. Hostesses are Mrs. Oren Pollard and Mrs. Sheldon Mitch ell. Mrs. Dan Anderson, who has been very ill, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital Wednesday. Memorial Day services were held at the auditorium with A. H. Duxbury of the Veterans Hos pital, Lincoln, as guest speaker. Mrs. Duxbury accompanied him. There was a solo by Gary West, a hymn by the Methodist Youth, choir with Fonnie Lacy, accom panist. Roger Dodson recited the Gettysburg Address. The room was decorated with garden flow ers. Later services were held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and wreaths were made and placed on veteran's graves by the American Legion Auxiliary. The Cemetery association ser ved dinner at the auditorium to 239 who came for the services. Gary Pollard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollard, was three May 27. Mr. and Mrs. William Jorgen son, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Midkiff, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Behrns and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O'Connor and family all of Nehawka attended the Jorgen son family reunion at the Joe Behrns home at Avoca, Thurs day. Nine brothers and sisters their wives and husbands were Robert and Carol, and Billy Fidler visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Fox Wednesday evening. Mr. Dewy Moore called on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rueter in Alvo Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wiles and Mrs. Gene Grimm were Lin coln visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Grebe and Russell of Lincoln spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bower. Mr. and Mrs. John Wescott of Lincoln were Thursday dinner dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Parrott. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ves kernia were Monday evening vis itors wih Wallace McClelland and Mrs. Margaret Lehman. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards visited at the Dr. W. E. Zieg enbein home in Crete Sunday. Odell, and Mrs. Lyle Bailey and Mar tha Dean attended the Childrens Day program after a two week Bible School at the Christian Church in Ashland, Sunday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Twiss of Louisville spent Sunday evening at the Dewey Moore home. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keller spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Boiler and family of Greenwood were Memorial Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Boiler and sons.
