B. Lupardus presiding. Des pite the stormy weather, the greater number of the club mem bers were present to take an active part in the extension on "Preparing Furniture tor Re- finishing", prepared and pre sented Dy Mrs. Chester Else man. The meeting was opened by the chairman reading the thought tor the month from the club book. Song of the month, "Come All You Faithful" lead by Mrs. Edna Rikli. Members responded to roll call by a quo tation or piece of tribute to Ben jamin Franklin. A report of the various committees was called for. The resignation of Mrs. Else man, elected as 1957 chairman was accepted and Mrs. Edna Rikli was unaminously elected to fill the vacancy. The business of the meeting was completed the lesson for the month was given and discussed. The social hour was spent in conversation, climaxed by an attractive lunch served by the hostess, Mrs. Kruse, assisted by Mrs. J. C. Jannan. The next meeting will be a Christmas party, Dec. 20, atj the home ot Mrs. Chester Else man, reporter. Mr. Ed Gannaway, who hasn't -been well for sometime had to have the doctor again on Sun day morning. Thursday guests at the John Kruger home were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hite of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Wright of Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brunkow Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brunkow and Mr. and Mrs. Verl Brunk ow and daughter spent Thanks giving in Omaha at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Willis andj family. Mr. and Mrs. William Lau had as their weekend guests their daughter and family from Grand Island. Thanksgiving Day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Le Rau Gaebel and family were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stock and Richard and Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Stock and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Mills are the owners of a new car which they purchased on Saturday. Mrs. Martha Thimgan of plattsmouth is helping out at the Henry Backemeyer home for a time. Mr. and Mrs. August Ruge returned home on Tuesday after spending the - Thanksgiving at the home of their son Dan and family of Chicago. Mrs. Roy Stock entered Bry an Memorial Hospital last week where she is undergoing treat ment. Mr. J. A. Boyd suffered an other heart attack on Wednes day evening and is now con fined to his bed again. The Friendly Neighbor Chit met at the Grant Neitzel home on a very wintery day, Nov. 21. Roll call was answered by telling what each Thanksgiving menu wrould be and it proved to be very interesting. Christine Blum and Dorothy Bornemeier . had charge of games which was greatly enjoyed. v The hostess j served a delicious lunch. Next meeting will be the Christmas party and will be at the home of Mrs. Louis Schmidt. D. Mills, reporter. Sunday dinner guests at the Clarence Ritter hone near Ben net were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gustin, Mr. and Mrs. James Mills, Judy and Dave. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Elseman were Mr. and Mrs. Mi lo Cannon and daughter, Judy and Chester's mother and fath er all of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. George Mooney of Elm wood, Mr. and Mrs. John Kruger, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan McDonald. The Joe Dickemeyer family and Stuart Mills family spent Thanksgiving at the James Mills home. Kiddies enjoyed sled rides behind the tractor and loved playing in the snow. Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Gideon and son of Havelock, Mr. and Mrs. Merle McDonald and son of Lincoln were Thanksgiving day guests at the W. J. B.
