Capwell were; presented in a recital at the Lions Club building ; Satur day vening. Baskets of flowers made a lovely stage setting for the event. Those taking part were: Tommy Garrison, Nancy Ha den, Richard Hild, Judy Nickles, Beverly Reimer, Steve Timm, Velda Nickles, Holland Hild, Su san Evers, Barry Hoover, Allan Hansen, Mary Joan Smith, San dra Abel, David Kraeger, and Ardyth Haden. Also Margaret England, Tom my Hansen, Gene Wehrbein, Linda Abel, Karyl Davis, Sharon Davis, Dorothy Stoehr, Cath erine Svoboda, and Linda Engel kemeier. Another group of Mrs. Cap well's pupils is preparing a re cital to be given later in the summer. A Pantry Shower Honors Recent Bride WEEPING WATER (Special) Mrs. Paul Mann was hostess and Mrs. Betty Smith co-hostess at a pantry shower Wed nesday evening at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Weeping Water, for Peggy Stratton, daughter of Mrs, Emma Strat ton, of Louisville, The gifts were placed on a table decorated with pink streamers, and centered with pink candles. Bridal shower games were played and enjoyed by all. A cake decorated with blue birds was served with ice cream, coffee and nut cups. Miss Stratton was married Sunday to Gene Meyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer, of Weeping Water. The couple went on a honey moon trip to Colorado. Picnic Was Enjoyed At Dave Toman Home Approximately 30 relatives and friends gathered on the spacious shady lawn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Toman Sunday for a picnic din ner and supper. The new officers will be installed in July. Several games were played with prizes going to Annette Fitzpatrick, Vera Warga, Elsie McClintock, Mary Nelson, Agnes Walling, Helen John, Cora Baumgart, Minnie Schiber, Mol lie Gobelman, Mata Amick, Mary Gobelman, Emma Cappell, Suzie Cook and Marguerite Streeter. Winning the two quiz games prizes were Minnie Schiber and Mata Amick. Refreshments were served by the hostesses Mrs. Emma Cap pell and Mrs. Ethel Zastera. Two Couples Are Married By Judge Married June 23 at the Cass County Court House by Cass County Judge Raymond J case were James H. Sherry, 24, and Alma A. Seydlitz, 25, of Platts mouth. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piper were witnesses to the cer emony. Also married by Judge Case were Rollin A. Sloop, 58, St. Louis, Mo.; and Clara C. Groes beck,4 67, "Bellevue. Witnessing the ceremony, June 27, were Helen Li. Williams and G. Ever ett Williams of Bellevue. Friends, Relatives Honor Army Couple Sixty friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Boardman for a basket dinner in honor of Ser gant and Mrs. Elmer Cogdill amd daughters. The honorees have returned to the States after service in Japan. They will be stationed at Clovis, New Mexico. Miss "Piper is a graduate of Plattsmouth High School, class of 1955. Mr. Menges is also a graduate of Plattsmouth High School, class of 1953. A July wedding is planned. John Haith, Senior Student At Seminary Graduated Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Haith and sons, Fred and Richard, have returned from a trip to St. Louis, Mo., where they went Sunday, for the senior grad uation of John from the Pas sionist Preparatory Seminary High School Department. He was given the honor of serving as master of ceremonies at the, Solemn High Mass, which was celebrated at 8:30 a. m. in the Chapel of the Seminary. Graduation services were held at' 2:30 in the chapel, with Father Herbert Tilman, C. P. giving the address to the grad uates. John will return this fall to the Seminary for his first year of College work. Chirping Bluebirds Have Summer Outing Mary Jo Lebens ?" Bluebird Secretary Summer outings provided the programs for the last two meet ings of the Chirping Bluebirds, led by Mrs. C. T. Woster. On June 12 the group was taken to the Wayside Museum near Murray where Mrs. Sporer displayed Indian articles, an old fashioned record player, and showed the girls the animals at the Museum. The day was com pleted with a nature hike and wiener roast at Fairy Glen. The bride given in marriage by her father appeared in a! ballerina length frock of white taffeta and nylon lace, with a streamer of white accordian pleated net. The straplsss gown featured a lace covered bodice and a white taffeta jacket cov- j ered wuth nylon lace and pearls sleeves were long, tapering at the hand. Her fingertip nylon veil was caught in a band of lace and pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white pom poms centering a white carna tion. Maid of honor Miss Minnie Mae Hoshar of Murray wore a sea green strapless formal with a net shawl. Miss Leslie June Circles Of Church Guild Hold Sessions Circles of St. . Pauls Evange lical and Reformed Womens' Guild met last week. Circle One met at the home of Mrs. Mike Kaffenberger with Mrs. Fritz Kaffenberger as co hostess. Chairman Mrs. Mike Kaffenberger opened the meet ing by reading a fathers day prayer poem. Mrs. Otto Pitz presented the devotional lesson with the topic "Serve The Church Willingly." This was concluded with a prayer. At the close of the business session all repeated the Lord's Prayer in unison. Several contests were enjoy ed and prizes were awarded to the winners who were Mrs. Leonard Born, Mrs. Joe J. Sti bal and Miss Frances Heinrich, with the consolation prize going to Mrs. Elizabeth Engelkemeier. Mrs. Earl Marler drew the door prize.-, f Refreshments were served, by the hostesses to 17 membfevs and seven visitors. ' I July hostesses will be Mis. Tina Born and Mrs. Leonard Born. . j Circle Two met in the church parlors at 8 p. m. with Mrs. Edgar Meisinger Mrs. Verner Meisinger and Mrs. J. P. Mei singer as hostesses. Co-chairman Mrs. Edgar Mei singer had charge of the meet ing due to the absence of the Chairman Mrs. Lorine Urish. Mrs. Rilla Gapen gave the de votions which were taken from the guild book. Games were enjoyed and the following received prizes for their accomplishments, Mrs. Rilla Gapen, Mrs. Ray Hild and Mrs. Katie Hild of Lincoln. Mrs. Otto Lutz received the door prize. Seventeen members and two guests enjoyed the refresh ments which the hostesses ser ved. The July hostesses will be Mrs. Anna Roberts and Mrs. H. G. Klinger. Circle Three met at the home of Mrs. Frank Bierl with Mrs. E. G. Meisinger as co-hostess. The meeting was called to order at 8 p. m. by Chairman Miss Laura Meisinger.- Mrs. L. W. Egenberger presented the devotional message. A silent auction was held. Mrs. John Parkening drew the door prize. Hostesses served refreshments to 19 members and two visitors present. The July hostesses are Mrs. August Gall, Mrs. Joe Loper and Mrs. Elsie McClintock. Daughter Susan Eileen, 6 lbs. 4 oz. born to Mr. and Mrs. Joel Breding, Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Breding is the former Doris Johnson of Plattsmouth. Daughter To Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mark ham, Jr., of Charlestown, Ind., an 8 lb. girl, June 15, 1956. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C. E. All were attired in pastel formals. After a short wedding trip the couple will live on a farm in Pacific Junction, Iowa. The bride graduated from the Plattsmouth High School this year. The bridegroom is a gradu ate of the Pacific Junction High School and is a member of the National Guard, serving as a Corporal. He is employed in Omaha. Mary Ryan Is Among Cast of a Musical Comedy in Lincoln Mary Ann Ryan, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. V. Ryan of Plattsmouth, is among four who will be cast in lead roles in the musical comedy "Good News". The comedy, which portrays college campus life, will be directed by Amer Lincoln, a June graduate of the Univer sity of Nebraska. The play, which is a part of the University of Nebraska All State Fine Arts Course will be presented tomorrow night at 7:30. It will be held in the Uni versity High School Auditorium, Lincoln. Bob Beverage also of Platts mouth, will be in one of the curtain acts. Rev. Roger Heimer Moves Into Church Parsonage In City Rev. Roger Heimer, minister of the First Christian Church, has moved into the parsonage. Mr. Heimer was delayed in moving by the illness and death of his father, Roy Heimer of Hebron. Rev. R. J. Taenzler of Omaha and Newell Larson of Murray filled the pulpit for Mr. Heimer so he could be with his father. The,. 4-H membership pins were presented each member, Marvin Miller, news reporter said. The group listened to bird calls and the boys had a discussion on protecting birds of the meadow. Roger Hammer gave a demon stration on building birdhouses and Marvin Miller on building bird baths. The girls topic was on table manners. Mrs. Miller served cake and a cool drink.
