THE PLATTSMOUTH, NEBRASKA, SEMI-WEEKLY JOURNAL PAGE SIX x Monday, June 25, 1956 Descendants of Blatz Meisinger Hold Reunion Sunday at Park Thirty-seven of the Blatz Mei singer descendants held a pic nic Sunday in the Garfield Park of Plattsmouth. This was the second reunion. They have or ganized to continue meeting on the fourth Sunday , of June an nually. Officers elected for 1957 were Oliver Meisinger, president and Mrs. Emmons Meisinger, sec retary treasurer. The oldest member present was John Dreeszen, 66, of Burr, and the youngest was Lin Dee Raymond. 5, of Plattsmouth. The births during the year were Robert Scott Meisinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meisinger and Katherine Jo Solomon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Solomon. Those coming the greatest distance were Mr. and Mrs. John Dreeszen, Mrs. Irvin Con kel and son, Kenneth, of Burr. From Plattsmouth were Mrs. Helen Tiekotter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cotner, Mrs. Charlotte Raymond and daughter, Lin Dee; Mr. and Mrs. Troy Cot ner, Katherine and Janelle Mei singer. Others attending were; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Tritsch and Dorothy Stoehr. Plans were made to meet next year in the Riverview Park Nebraska City. By Margaret Dingman Phone 241 Enrollment Record The registrar's office at Chad ron State Teachers College re ports the college now has its largest summer enrollment since 1938 when 446 students were registered. Mrs. Sadie Shrader and son, Gerald, and Mr. and ter, Rosie, of Nehawka spent Saturday evening at the Henry Thiele home. Mrs. Chris Zimmerman, Sr., is spending a few weeks with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Mogen sen and Matthew of Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bow man and sons, Max Eugene ; and Gary Lee of Bellevue : visited relatives and friends ; in Plattsmouth Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ball and family of Humansville, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Powell of Malvern, Iowa; Martha Phil lips of Omaha; Lena Litle and son, Jimmie, of Plattsmouth called at the home of her son, Raymod Litle and family of Harlan, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Long and son, Larry, returned Sunday from Minneapolis, ... Minn., where they attended the wedding of Miss Jean Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey N. Jensen to Jack Kagle of Denver, Colo. The bride is a niece of Mr. Long. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Knorr, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Howland and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Morrison depart ed Saturday for Sandas Beach, Henning Minn., to spend some time at the R. W. Knorr sum mer cottage. Four band directors and their wives had a marching band idea exchange at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Schulz in Nebraska City Wednesday evening. The visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Herman Eickhoff, Snohomish, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin McKinney, Plattsmouth, and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Johnson of Syra cuse. Mr. ad Mrs. Ed Kalina and two children of Chicago, 111., were recent visitors in Platts mouth, enroute to Oakland, Calif., and Bingen, Wash. At Oakland, the couple will visit Mrs. L. L. McCarty, mother of Mrs. Kalina. Mrs. McCarty has been ill at her home. The Kal ina family will visit Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Kalina and Mr. and Mrs. Newell Pollard at Bingen. - Mr. and Mrs. John Rishel and family had as supper guests Friday, Mrs. Nell White and Mrs. James Ear- hart of Omaha; Mrs. Kath erine Hall and Mr. and Mrs. James Rishel. The occasion honored James Rishel on his birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Burr Davis and daughter, Sandra, and -friend of -Wayne, were guests of Mrs. Davis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Vallery, Sunday. .Miss Rosemary Wolski re turned home Wednesday from a trip to the Black Hills, Yel lowstone Park and San Diego, Calif. She accompanied her aunt of Omaha. She was gone three weeks. Bliss Pat Bailey spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. II. Bailey. Miss Bailey is attendig Peru State College. ... Miss Emma Pittman departed Thursday for her home in Washington D. C. after a visit with her mother, Mrs. Anna R. Pittman of Plattsmouth. The visitor also spent some time 'in Omaha and Avoca. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Lyon and children, David and Denise, returned Saturday morning from a two weeks trip to New York, Ken tucky, Maryland and Con necticut where they visited ' relatives. Grover Cudall, Bill Allgeier, Doug Reno and Don Freebur enjoyed a weekend trip to Lake Okoboji. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold French have moved to Plattsmouth in their new home at 1520 Valley Street. The family moved here irom Avoca. 3 From This City At Fine Arts Course Special To The Journal LINCOLN Bob Beverage, Carol Davis and Linda Living ston, all of Plattsmouth, are at tending the All-State Fine Arts course being held at the Univ ersity of Nebraska on scholar ships valued- at $75. Miss Livingston received the Plattsmouth Junior Woman's Club scholarship and Miss Davis and Beverage together received the Plattsmouth Band scholarship. Mrs. Garland Lockhart returned home Friday after having surgery at a Omaha hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ball of Humansville, Mo., were visit ingwith her mother; Mrs. Lena Litle over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Powell of Malvern, Iowa, and Martha Phillips of Omaha called Saturday night. Nimble Stitchers Try Some of Their Cookies, Lemonade By Laraine Young 4-H Reporter MURRAY The Nimble Stitchers met at the home of Karen and Linda Engelkemeier on June 14. Our lesson was on making oatmeal cookies and making lemonade. Linda Engelkemeier demonstrated making lemon ade. We also discussed making our divided box. Our next meeting will be held at the home of our leader, Mrs. Clarence Engel kemeier, on June 28.
