Svoboda was arrested in Plattsmouth in 1953 by Sheriff Solomon. He was charged with breaking into the Gamer home and was committed to Kearney Industrial School. Captain Smith told the sheriff his glove compart ment was forced open and some valuable papers were destroyed. The captain said his car was locked when he left it parked in the amuse ment park lot. The Plattsmouth Fire Depart ment was summoned for the auto fire, but a vapor lock pre vented the pumping unit from getting into operation. The truck also had a dead battery and was towed back to the city. A fire truck from Offutt also had mechanical difficulties, but a second one from the base was used to extinguish the fire. Traffic was tied up for a considerable time at the scene as many curiosity seekers parked by the road and went to look at the wreckage. Sheriff Solomon said the en tire case is still under investigation. 6 Cases Are Tried By Judge R.J. Plattsmouth Girl Chosen Treasurer At Girls Assembly LINCOLN The Nebraska Theta Rho Girls Club State As sembly was held Wednesday and Thursday at the Lincoln Hotel in Lincoln. Jean Marler of Plattsmouth was elected state treasurer for the year 1957. The meeting was called to order by Maude Sanderson, secretary of the youth commit tee, with Karen Van Pelt cf Paxton, assembly, president, presiding. Other state officers were Vice President Jean Frates of Brule; Secretary Shirley Louck of Gordon; Treasurer Sharon Kay of Scottsbluff and Chaplain Jean Marler of Platts mouth. There were 360 girls in at tendance at the rally. Follow ing the afternoon session, a banquet was held in the ball room of the hotel with dancing and the coronation afterwards.
