"They are" life-long residents of Greenwood and Lincoln. - Mrs. Turley ' Wall and Mrs. Ruth Leadabrand attended a meeting Tuesday in Lincoln. The Woman's division of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce entertained the presidents and group chairmen of the Extension Clubs. There was a program given on "Yeast, Breads and Food Values" and "What WiR Be Done With Electricity by 1970." A tour through the gov ernor's mansion was also held. The ladies all registered at noon and attended the banquet held in the Chamber of Com merce building in the evening. Arc Redecorating Mr. and Mrs. Finley of South Bend have been in Greenwood the. past week E decorating their house for new tenants. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff oad Bailer of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Bailer of Ashland were supper guests Sunday in this village. Mr. and Mrs. Turley Wall vis ited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wall in Lincoln Sunday. Ladies Entertained The ladies of the HWA Card Club -were entertained at the home ' of . Mrs. Frank Welton Thursday. Mrs. Vivian Cope, Mrs. Daisy Wright and Mrs. Wayne Wright visited with Mr. Conn at Bryan Memorial Hospital Friday. The play was a mystery play entitled "The Black Derby." Cast of characters: Ted Bronson, the son, Larry Cook; Jane Bronson, the daugh ter, Francine Jones; Tom Rand all, a college boy, Robert Atte bery; Betty Kay, a society girl, Myrna Wolfe; Mrs. Benlow, the housekeeper, Nola Keene; Cora Kipper, the maid, Janice Mead; John, the caretaker and chaut feur, Norman Beccard; Micky, nobody special, Ted . McClane ; Wimple, a detective, Mike Rod dy. The young people are all to be congratulated on the way they handled their parts. They need ed no prompting and they really had the audience "mystefied" on how Mike Poddy lost his coat and black derby' Edwin Wolfe played between acts. The seniors presented their sponsor, Superintendent Carey with a gift. Trophy Fish Is Sent to Friends And Relatives by Harold Dane The funeral of Miss Bertha Nickles was held in the Chris tian Church last Monday after noon. The ladies Aid Society of the Christian Church prepared ; the banquet for the Board of Di rectors of the Cass County Tu berculosis Society last Wednes day evening in the basement of the church. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Noell en tertained for supper last Friday evening Mrs. Jim O'Harra, Mrs Carrie O'Harra, Miss Mickey Premer and Mr. and -Mrs. De way ne Noell all of -Aburn and Mrs. John Fuller of Talmage. The Christian Church base ment was the scene of much amusement last Fridaj evening when a mock , wedding was put on by i some of the men of the church. A . great many gifts were re ceived by Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Noell. Lunch of sandwiches, cake, potato chips, coffee and pickles was served byithe host esses. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lutz entertained the Farm Bureau "oiks in their home last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hob scheidt are the parents of a fine baby girl born last' Saturday morning. The Hobscheidt's have three older boys. The grandpar ents are Mr. and Mrs. John Hobscheidt Sr. of Plattsmouth and Mr. Ralph Meisinger of Murdock. She has been named Mary Kay and weighs nine pounds and one ounce. By Mrs. F. O. Sand Phone 2708 NEHAWKA (Special) Dr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce of Ogden, Utah, arrived Wednesday after noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard. They were enroute home from Miami, Fla., where Dr. Bruce had attended a medical meeting. The inter national meeting included doc tors from all over the world. Dr. and Mrs. Bruce had been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dane at Boca Raton, Fla., the previous weekend. Dr. Bruce and Mr. Dane went deep 'sea fishing and Mr. Dane caught a 47 pound king fish which he sent to Nehawka for friends and relatives. Mr. Dane received a trophy for catching the largest fish in a contest and caught the fish just the day before the contest ended. Dr. and Mrs. Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard and grand son, Lyle, spent Thursday with the Arthur Pollard family at Wayne. Friday ; evening din ner guests of :the Oren Pollards included Dr. and Mrs. Bruce, Mrs. Ruth B. Pollard, Mrs. Jose phine St. John and Leonard, Ne braska City; Mr. and Mrs. James Kitchen, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Vance Balfour and Susan, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Pollard and family. Mr. and Mrs. Kitchen were cernight guests of the Pollards Friday. Dr. and Mrs. Bruce left for their home Sat urday. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross, Swine Club Set for Big Roller Skating Party: Play Games By Gerald Fredenburg 4-H Reporter Plans for a roller skating par ty were made at a recent meet ing of the Westside Rooters Swine Club at the home of John Mendenhall. The meeting was opened by President George Pool. The club leaders told of the istrict judg ing in Lincoln. Record books were filled out and several items of business discussed. The games were led by Rex Brown and Gerald Fredenburg. The hostess then served a lunch. The May meeting will be at the home of Rex. Brown. Banquet Is Served By WSCS And Lions ' EAGLE (Special) The Lion's Club' sponsored and the Eagle Womens Society of Chris tian Service served the athletics and activities banquet Friday evening at the Eagle School. . Hall, women's residence hall at Peru State Col lege. The event attracted many parents and friends of the resi dents as well as college students and twonspeople. Those from Plattsmouth sign ing the guest bood were Mrs. Hermie Svoboda, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Pilny, Mr. and Mrs. John V. Svoboda, Cathy, and Mary Helen, and Barbara Hoh-man. LOUISVILLE The Louisville Pep Club held its annual party at the high school auditorium recently. Mary Jo Reihart, 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mar ion Reihart, was crowned Pep Club queen and Bill Workman, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Workman, was king. The attendants were Gary Welton and Marilyn Koop, Joel Heim and Merna Reihart. Paul Wagner, son. of Mr. . and Mrs. Bob Wagner was train bearer. The king and queen, both sen iors, were chosen by members of the Pep and "L" Clubs. After the royal couple and their at tendants were .presented gifts, Queen Mary Jo also presented the sponsor and senior girls with gifts. ! Following the first dance by the king and queen, the remain der of the evening w-as spent dancing. Music wras furnished by a five-piece orchestra which was enjoyed by all present.: The punch bowl was open to everyone all evening and later a lunch was served consisting of ice cream and a white cake, which was decorated with a pur ple "L" on the top. Bruce Tressler fell while tak ing a glass jar to school for a project and cut his hand, fing ers and arm. Dr. Worthman is taking care of the wound. Mrs. Jim Ingram was chosen for jury duty. Mrs. M. K. Schroeder, Carol and Ronald," of Syracuse came up Saturday morning to see Mr. Tennant who was sick with flu. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Sutton celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary quietly Sunday. Homcmakcrs Judge Cookies, Get Club's Charter At Meeting By Janice Meisinger 4-H Reporter The Seven Little Homemakers 4-H Club met April' 21 at the home of the leader, 'Mrs. Wilbur Hubbell. A short business meeting was held. Members voted to pay Mrs. Hubbell the money given on a gift for Mrs. Groesser. The club received its 4-H Charter with one seal for proj ect completed. Members judged the vanilla drop cookies. The meeting was closed with a delicious lunch which was served by Mrs. Hubbell and Janean.
