Mr. and Mrs. Val Ewing and daughters entertained Christ mas Eve. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kuehn and family, Charles Dodds of Omaha; L. R. Joint ' installation with Murdock R.N.A. Camp at G.A.R. Hall, Elmwood. Elmwood Christmas Musical An enlarged choir of the Methodist church gave a pro gram to a large crowd on Thursday, Dec. 22. The choir was robed in red vestments. Mrs. Willard, Clapp was the choir director. Mrs. D wight Clements was organist. The program opened with the choir entering as processional of "Joy to the World" was played. First number, "I wonder as I wan- der," had an incidental solo i sung by Dr. Glen Knosp. "Ol Holy Night" was sung by Ray lene Miller, Donna Mae Miller and Mary Lou Hall as a trio. ! A scripture reading of the birth ' of the Christ child was read by John Hall. A solo, "Ave Maria," was sung by Sharon Abrams. "The Birthday , of a King" was a solo sung by Clark Marshall. The recessional was sung as the choir left the church. The benediction was given by the pastor, Dr. Bert L. .Story. Elmwood Christian Church Gives a Program Sunday school pupils of the Christian church gave a can dle light service Thursday, Dec. 22, at the church. They were assisted by a choir of young adults seated in the back ground. The birth of Christ was given in story and writh scripture, interspersed with a candle lighting service. Christ mas carols were given by dif ferent groups. Mrs. Chester Irons was mu sical director. A prelude of Christmas carols was played by Linda Husar. Accompanist for. the program was "Mrs: Skyie Miller, Jr. Sunday school teachers re sponsible for the program were Mrs. Myrtle Stege, Mrs. Evelyn Husar, Mrs. Francis Miller and Mrs. Amy Irons. A social hour followed in the dining room, honoring the Richard Kuehn family who are moving away from Elmwood, to Sandy, Ore. Also there . was a pound shower for the minister, the Rev. and Mrs. N. F. Horn. Elmwood Mrs. Chester Irons attended a ' Christmas program at the Lutheran church' in Weeping Wa'ter Friday evening, Dec 23. Her daughter and", family, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman, belong to the church and; her grandchil dren were in the program. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth West and family held a surprise fare well party for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kuehn and family at their home Friday, Dec. 23. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd West and, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Tweton, all of Green wood; Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Dennis; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mille; Ivan Ingerson, Mrs. Opal Beatty. A gift from the group was presented to Mr. and Mrs, Kuehn, an electric deep fry. The Kuehn's expect to leave within a wreek for their new home at Sandy, Ore. Elmwood . All but one sen, (Ralph) who died several years ago, were in at tendance. Present . were John Drake, Lincoln; Arthur P. Drake, wife and 11 children. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver- Drake and family, North Bend; Mr. and Mrs. John Drake; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Drake and family, Te cumseh; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Drake and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Drake and family, West ern; Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Drake, Omaha; Mrs. Ralph Drake and family (four boys) and six grandchildren from Shenando ah, Iowa. Mrs. Helen Bennett, husband and family, Verdon; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Oldfield and baby; Mrs'. Ruth Abrams, son, Ronald, and daughter, Sharon. Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Oldfield and Mrs. Abrams were the three daughters. There were moving pictures taken of the group. Elmwood Hall Son Born Mr- and Mrs- Dale Hall are the parents of a baby son born Thursday, , Dec. 22 at St. Eliza beth's Hospital, Lincoln, He has been jiamed Glenn Allan. Fraternal grandparents are Mr. and Mirsi Eugene Hall and Mrs. Mabel Schlanker. t Elmwood Mr. and Mrs-.' Orval Miller and Mr. and Mrs. . Myrl Miller vis ited an aunt, Mrs. Roy (Julia) Palin, at Lincoln Dec. 23. Also visiting her that evening were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wendt. Mrs- Bert Reber had a Christ mas gift, a long distance tele phone message on Christmas from her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Searles, Hampton, Va.
