Monday, August 15, 1955 Mrs. John Fischer Correspondent Mr. and Mrs. Stratton and daughter of Weeping Water called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Richards last Mon day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cudak of New York visited her broth er and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Donlan, and other rel atives at Lincoln. Mr. Cudak re uunta nome the first of last week and Mrs. Cudak remained for a more extended visit at the Donlan home. Dick Norris of Warrenburg, Mo., visiting in Eagle has been assisting at a service station here. Eaele Attend Fun Night Rene, Judy and JoAnn Rock enbach, Richard Wenzel, Rich ard Westfall and Raymond Alt house, members of the Eagle Beef Club, with their leader Floyd Althouse, attended the 4-H fun night at Weeping Water last Friday evening. The same group and guests, Mrs. Althouse and Jeanette Walker ' enjoyed swimming at Capitol Beach Sun day afternoon and a picnic sup per at the Floyd Althouse home later in the same evening. Eade Mr. and Mrs. Otto Moeller and her mother, Mrs. Marshall Ros enberg, of Lincoln, visited at the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Winkler, last Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Winkler and family of Lincoln also visited at the home of his parents during the afternoon. The Mcellsrs also called at the Henry Fleishman home near Eagle. Mrs. Adams has accepted the hot-lur.ch cooking position at Eagle schools this fall. School starts Aug. 29th. She will resign her similar pos ition at the Lincoln General hospital this month. Eagle Several young fellows with Raymond Norris attended the Sioux City vs Lincoln baseball game at Lincoln last Monday evening. They were, Gary Trunk enbolz, Roger Walker, Larry Walberg and Richard Wezel. Mrs. Anna McDonald, who makes her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and ivirs. vviiiiam ivieyers, visited last week with her son and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDon ald at Avoca. Eagle Traffic Blocked A large semi-trailer on east "O" St. obstructed the traffic for sometime last Monday af ternoon when one of the dual wheels loosened and rolled off the road. No damages were re ported but the traffic was con gested for the time being as another large truck was assist ing the former and in so doing had to be across the highway for a short time. The traffic de toured from the Eagle cemetery corner and north one mile. Eagle Carr Baby Born Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carr are the parents of an 8 pound baby boy, born Monday, Aug. 8, at a Lincoln hospital. He has been named Richard William. Hardnock Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Forest Hardnock are the parents of a 6 pound 6 ounce girl born Sunday, Aug. 7, at Bryan Memorial hospital at Lincoln. District court: A suit in petition of real estate has been filed in district court by Emily Fricke against Margar et Allen and others. Foreclosure sale of the Weep ing Water sale barn to Parr Young and others was approved by the district court Friday. A divorce was granted to Eliza beth Eckert from Henry E. Eck ert on charges of extreme cruel ty and property settlement agreement approved. The court approved a license to sell real estate to the Minnie Eledge estate. Legion Convention To Be In Lincoln LINCOLN, Nebr. Three big days with something to do ev ery minute are ahead of Legion naires who attend the big State Convention in Lincoln August 21. 22. 23. The welcome mat Is out in front of Capital City Post No. 3, according to General Co-Chair-man Frank B. O'Connell and Charles Thone. The convention, scheduled to start Sunday morning. Au gust 21, and continue through Tuesday noon. August 23. will feature a visit from National American Region Commander Seaborn Collins. Other features of the 3-day get together will be a mammoth parade and a free barbeque. Other activities will be under way in Lincoln at the same time that will interest Legionnaires. Facilities of the brand new $150,000 club rooms of the Le gion Home at 1525 P Street are available to members and their guests. Japanese exports are up 23.2 per cent to a post-war peak. Richard Kuehn and family left Tuesday for a trip to Oregon to visit her sister, Mrs. Fleishman, and friends.- Bud Clements has been home and under the doctor's care sev eral days, but is reported im proving. ' The Auxiliary of the American Legion unit of Elmwood met Thursday evening at G. A. R. hall. The new president, Ruby Brinton, was in charge of the business meeting. Opal Shreve and Daisy L. Moore entertained the members at the cafe after wards for a social hour. Elmwood . Attend Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seiker, par ents of Francis A. Seiker, at tended his wedding to Marlyin Larkin at York on August 5. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seiker, Miss Anna Seiker, Robert Fisher, Vincent Seiker from Elmwood. After their hon eymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Seiker expect to live on the home place near Elmwood. The par ents are moving to town in Elm wood where they recently pur chased a home. Elmwood Mr. and Mrs. Ahron Rauth of York were visitors of the Albert Seikers the past week. Wednes day visitors were Sister Vanno, Sister Radmeta and Sister Alex ine. Mr. and Mrs. Orest Cook and Gloria Jean spent the past week in touring Colorado, Wyoming, visiting the Teton mountains and Estes Park. They reported eastern Colorado and western Nebraska looking green and crops good. They also encount ered lots of rain en route home in Colorado. Wendell Cook and wife, Audry, expect to leave Saturday for a trip to Boston to visit Mrs. Cook's sister. Her parents and family will accompany in their car. Rev. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen, Raelyn and Johnie, arrived Mon day from Cincinnati for a visit with Mrs. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Greene. Mrs. J. S. Deering left for her home in Norman, Okla., Tuesday after spending several weeks vis iting her sisters, Mrs. Ralph Greene of Elmwood and Mrs. Ralph Keckler of Weeping Water. Police Court Horace L.
