Application of Emery Rozell to operate a pickup service for col lection of rubbish and garbage granted subject to requirements. Motion-carried to pay $1640.00 from the Amusement Fund to School District No. 1 for the summer band program. A representative of the Ne braska Masonic Home was pres ent and requested that a pro posed paving project on Avenue G be deferred for this year. Plat of "Highland Addition" was submitted and referred to the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance on same. Ordinance No. 915 vacating a part of the alley in Block 12 was passed under suspension of rules. Petition signed by Mrs. Louis Bahm and 7 others was read for the creation of a street im provement district to pave North 12th Street from Avenue F to Avenue G, and Avenue G from 11th Street to Webster Boule vard. Resolution passed show ing 9 resident property owners owning property directly abut ting upon the streets proposed to be improved and that 6 have signed said petition which con stitutes 60 per cent or more of the required number: Ordinance No. 916" creating Street Improvement District No. 115 in the City of Piattsmouth was passed under suspension of rules. Certificate of City's Special Engineer showing construction costs in the amount of $393S.40 and a total cost of $470.00 for the construction of sanitary sewer later in Sanitary Sewer District No. 11, and mo tion carried to accept said Cer tificate. Resolution adopted to accept the above certificate and that a plat and schedule be prepared showing the amounts assessable against each lot or parcel of ground subject to as sessment in District No. 11. Four petitions were received to create street improvement dis tricts for the application of hot asphaltic oil on the following streets: Lincoln Avenue from 6th Street to Highways Nos. 34-75; Hermia Street from Patterson Avenue to Cass Street; 12th Street from 2nd Avenue to 3rd Avenue; and 12th Street from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue. Mo tion carried that same be re ferred to the City Attorney to check the records for the names of resident abutting property owners and if found sufficient to prepare ordinances creating such street improvement dis tricts. Parking meter receipts were reported as $234 00 for the week ending July 4th and $197.00 for the week ending July 11, 1955.
