Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Wilson and family of Omaha were there ' Sunday af ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morris and daughters of Omaha were Friday overnight guests of Clin ton Jones and family. They were Saturday evening guests at the John Jones home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mooney and family of Sutton, were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Roeber. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harris Bell left Wednesday after a few days visit at the home of Mrs. Bell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman. South Ashland House Ransacked Sharon Leesley has been spending this post month with her cousin, Mrs. Joan Hanson, and family at Waterloo. Sat urday ight, while they were away from home someone en tered and ransacked the home. The contents of the dresser drawers and purses were strewn about. The pockets in jeans were turned insideout. The in truders evidently were looking for money, nothing, was missing but a clarinet and case which was worth nearly $100.00 which Sharon had rented for the sum mer. - South Ashland . . . Later Mr. and Mrs. Sowards, Marvin and Joanne .went to Weeping Water where they were dinner guests of Mrs. Soward's parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Klemme. Melvin Wiles' father, Troy Wiles, of Ashland is spending two weeks in Alberta, Canada, attending Orel Roberts camp meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weston and Eugene and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heier went to Memphis Sunday evening where they vis ited Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Schulz and family and Mrs. Keith West on and little daughters. Mrs. Robert Leesley and family pinicked with Mr. Leesley's sister, Mrs. George Leaver, and Mr. Leaver at Waterloo Sunday. , Mrs. James Estes of Neah Bay, Wash., spent Saturday and Sun day nights with her aunt, Mrs. Harold Richards, while Mr. Richards spent the weekend at Kearney and Grant. Charlotte Niday and Mrs. F. A. Hansen were dinner guests Sunday at tht Fred Han sen home. Later Mrs. Niday, Mrs. F. A. Hansen and Mrs. George Pollard called at the Fred Hild home at Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Getchius and Mrs. Ella Knox of Dunbar spent the day Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs. Don Davis and Mrs. Pearl Johnson of Syracuse. Mrs. W. W- Jameson of Weep ing Water accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jameson and fam ily to Columbus Sunday to spend the day with the Royce Fish family. The Nehawka Swine 4-H club held a tour of the members' pig projects and later in the eve ning had a picnic at the Arthur Johnson home. ' Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lutz, Car olyn and Jane left. Monday morning for Madrid to be the guests of Mr. Lut2' sister, Mrs. Mary Schreiter. From there they will go to North Platte to visit another sister, Mrs. Carl Keifer and Mr. Keifer. Robert Sand left Thursday morning for Tucson, Ariz., af fer receiving word' that a storm had badly damaged the home of his fiance's parents,. Mr. and Mrs Rosalio Ronquillo on Wed nesday. A roof was ripped from the portico, blew over the house and took part of the main roof with it, then crashed down and ripped off the1 terrace roof. The roof3 then crashed on a new carport and destroy ed the car inside The inside of the house, clothing and furn ishings were damaged by the heavy rains. Wind blew up-to 76 miles an hour. They have had daily rains in Tucson The wedding of Miss Dolores Ron quLslo and Robert Sand will be September fifth at Tucson. Nchawkl"- Mr. and MrSi LcRoy Kiem and family, Mr. and . Mrs. Orville France and family, all of Syra cuse enjoyed a: picnic supper at the Dick Johnson home Thurs day. The ladies all worked at the R.E.A. office at Syracuse. Mrs. Jerry Moss, Sr., was the guest of honor Friday evening at dinner at the Arthur John son home. It' was her birthday. Also ' celebrating with her was Connie Johnson, who was four years old Saturday. Jerry Moss, Jr., who is stationed at Monte rey, Calif., at art Army language school, called his mother and also talked to Connie. Connie's Saturday evening party guests were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandt and sons, Mr. and Mrs. " Conrad Johnson, and Mrs. Macine Knowles and children of Hunt ington Park, Calif., l ; Mr. and Mrs. Henning John son and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Johnson returned from a vaca tion at Alexandriaand Perham Minn. They had cottages on Lake Ida. Sunday dinner guests at the Henning Johnson home were their sons, Harold and family of Union, Bob and fam ily of Talmage, and Dick and family. ; . : Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson received word of the death of Max Schafer at Ethete, Wyo., on July 16. Mrs. Schafer is at the home of a friend in Cali fornia and will " be home at Ethete August 15. Mr. and Mrs. Schafer were Nehawka resi dents for many.yeras. " David Knowles of Huntington Park, Calif., is-spending this week at the Arthur Johnson home.' . .
