Din ner guests in their honor were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Epler and family, Mrs. Floyd Epler and son, Verle, all of Brock; Mrs. Norris Hoberg, Nebraska City; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hines were evening callers. All enjoyed the pictures the Frarys showed of the Black Hills. The Frarys left Monday morning for their home after spending a week with rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Murdoch , are vacationing in Colorado. Their daughter, Beverly, is stay .. ing with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ban-non.- Carl Lindsey of Union, broth er of Mrs. Ted Brannon, enter ed the veteran's hospital Thurs day for observation. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ross and children returned Wednesday evening from Sheridan, Wyo., where they spent ten days at Dome Lake. They returned by the way of the Black Hills. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dierking and daughter of Otoe, and Mr. and Mrs. John Tyson drove to Waubonsie Park Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schmitz of Ne braska City were evening guests Sunday at the Tyson home. Mr. and. Mrs. Randall Swit zer and Nancy, Mrs. Jack Hines and her. daughter, Mrs. George Lemley and daughters, of Oma-. ha, returned home Friday eve-T . ning from Perham,.Minn., where j 'they spent two weeks. Neli.iwka Birthday Surprise A group of friends surprised Mrs. Charlotte Schomaker and brought a covered dish dinner to her home Sunday to help her celebrate her birthday. They were Mrs. Nancy Adams,' Mrs. Barbara Champlin, Mrs. "Maggie Hiskey, Mrs. Hester Baker, all of Nebraska City, and Mrs. Augusta Bodey of Brock. Mrs. Bodey shared honors with "Mrs. Schomaker for she had a "birthday Saturday. Nehawka Lela Edmonds and Ed Hron of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Edmonds, Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Poulos Jr., and Sharon, ail of Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ackley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Edmonds, Sr., had a picnic at Auburn Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Dickman and sons went to Omaha Sat urday evening. Mr. Dickman at tended the Degree in the Hills of the lodge. Mrs. Dickman and tons were entertained socially with the members families. Mr. and Mrs. George Dick man attended a meeting Sunday at Kearney of the Dlannimr A. board of all branches of the Odd Fellowship. Miss Esther Barkhurst return ed from Camp Catron where she spent six weeks as camp nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fullerton and family of Lincoln were din ner guests Sunday at the Har vey Barkhurst home. The oc casion observed the birthdays - of Mrs. Barkhurst and .Esther. Larry Fullerton, who spent the summer at the Barkhurst home returned home with his parents. Nehawka Lieut. Hansen Home Lieut. Arthur Hansen arrived home July 30 from Germany, .where he has been stationed lor the past 13 months. A family ' dinner honored him July 31 at the home of his father, John 'Hansen- Lieut.
