Knecht accompan ied by Mrs. Margaret Brendel of Murray left Sunday to at tend the three day Postmast ers Convention at Hastings.- Mrs. Joy White of Greeley, Colo., was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Ahlstrand. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh O'Brien and Mary Lou Carnicle of Louisville spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Carnicle and Jimmy. Mary Lou will remain staying with her grandparents for another week. Thursday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dill and family were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sartin of Ashland and Miss Nancy Sartin of Loveland, Colo. Mrs. V. D. Livers and Miss Verla Livers attended the Lesh Renolds wedding at Trinity Cathedral church in Omaha Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Grady of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Gakemeier of Murdock were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rosencrans and family. Mr. and Mrs. Rosen crans and boys were evening guests of Mrs. Sadie Shrader and Gerald at Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fidler, Elaine and Elinor and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Streight attended the wedding of Miss Johnnie Gay Gere and Donald Sherwood at the Holy Trinity Episcopal church at Lincoln Sunday af ternoon. Mrs. Harvey Frahm and Gary of Ithaca spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Criicl1. Mrs. Edna Haswell of Wabash spent Tuesday with her parents. Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parrish, Don na and Leon were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Furrer of Yutan and Miss Karla and Rita Speckmann of Belgrade. Donna returned with Mr. and Mrs. Furrer to spend the week. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Streight of Omaha were Friday over night, guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Streight. They were eve ning visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fidler, Elaine and Elinor. Mrs. Larry Carnicle and chil dren were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Morris at Ashland. South Bend Rainbow Girk Attend Meeting Miss Elinor Fidler, with other girls from Ashland Rainbow Assembly, attended the tenth annual session of the Grand Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls in Nebraska, Monday through Wednesday in Lincoln. Headquarters for the meetng were in the Scottish Rite Temp le. South Bend Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Livers were Sunday supper guests of. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Livers at Ashland. Bill Carnicle of Lincoln was a Sunday supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carnicle. Mr. and Mrs. Val Ewing at tended the funeral of Mrs. Ber tha Hamlin at Lincoln Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cox and son of Springfield were Mon day evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wiszmann and daughter. George, chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, recently de clared that the United States should hold on to its air bases and military might in Europe for the time being, at least. Com menting on reports that the Soviet Union might press for disarmament and the neutraliz ation of Germany, Senator George said the United States could not "give up anything at this time or rest on our oars in any way."
