The young folks had a wonerful time coloring eggs and playing games. Hostess served delicious retreshments in the late afternoon. Mrs. Mollis Garrens was cele brating her birthday one day last week by being a guest of Mrs. Martha Pickering. Other guests were Mrs. Millie La Rue, Mrs. Jim Roddy and Mrs. Lizzie Taylor. Of course there was a nice big birthday cake to make this event a success. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Dysart spent the Easter weekend in Piattsmouth. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Rihn Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dunn and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fitzpatrick visited Orville Hathaway who is a patient in the Clarkson hos pital, on last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Pickens of Denver, Colo., spent a few days with Mr. Pickens' mother, Mrs. Hattie Pickens, and his sister, Mrs. Bertha Hathaway. Mr. and Mrs Pickens are moving to Council Bluffs. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pike's Eas ter Sunday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Warden; Miss Warden and Miss Thomas of Lincoln and Carol and Tommy Pike. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Drenman of Waukesha, . Wise, have been spending a few days over the weekend visiting Mrs. Drenmans parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah, Sr., and brother and famiiv. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Har rah. They also visited the par ents of Mr. Drenman at Nebras ka City. The Baptist church held spe cial Easter services last Sunday evening. The Iinclon Business Men's Christian League present ed a musical Easter program with Herb Jost as director. Several of the guests gave short talks. About thirty members of the Masonic Lodge attended Easter morning church services at the ; Methodist church last Sunday in a body. The ladies of the church had brought in many beautiful Easter lilies and sev eral bouquets of Jonquils and Snapdragons. Carol Ann Pike sang "Tne Holy City," accom panied on the organ by Mrs. Snodgrass, and Mrs. Ora Guer ra on the piano. The choir , had a special number also. Union y Community Club Hcids last Meet The last meeting for the school year of the Community Club was held on Monday eve ning, April 11th, at the school house. After a short business ses sion, which was conducted b. the president, Don Wolfe, the program committee which was Mrs. Clarence Beccard and Mrs. Ollie Attebery, entertained the folks by playing a number of games which kept everyone "in stitches." The last game was a "spell down" for the older group and later another was played by tht grade children. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Myrtle Ken dall, Mrs. Gene Roddy, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Barritt. Pbttsmouth Kids Entertain Union Woman's Club Meet UNION (Special) April meet ing of the Unioji Woman's club was held on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, with Mrs. Melvin Todd as hostess and Mrs. L. G. Todd as co-hostess. Airs. Howard Snodgrass, the president, called the meeting to order. Mrs. George Rieke was leader of the afternoon's pro gram but was not able to be there for the opening of the meeting. Mrs. Melvin Todd in troduced the Piattsmouth high school boy's quartette who were: Bill Todd, Marion Hild. Bob Carr and Terry Ernst. They sang three very fine numbers. Mrs. Todd then introduced five Piattsmouth high school girls, all members of Job's Daughters. They gave several musical num bers. Donna Ernst sang "Tweedle-Dee-Dee." .She was accompa nied on the piano by Mike Shel lenbarger. Jeanne Weiss gave two very fine accrdian num bers. "Tick Tock Polka" and ' Wait for Me, Darling." Carol Davis and Janice Lancaster were heard in a piano duet, "Cana dian Capers," and Nancy Todd plaved "In Rose Land." Mrs. Rieke read an Easter poem, taken from Ideals maga inp All of this part of the rirosrram was enjoyed by the iHiPs Mrs. Herman Comer n Hurled the Easter devotions pins were made for the next meeting which will be May 3rd of tv.P church.
