Mrs. Kate Smith Buried at Union Funeral services were held to day (Monday) at Union for Mrs. Kate Smith, of Omaha, who died early Saturday morning in a nursing home in that city. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Cowles Hill cemetery in Wyoming precinct. Mrs. Smith was an aunt of Ed Shoemaker and made her horns with them, for several years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nola . Dodds, Omaha, and a son, Houston Smith, of Iowa. Bill Evans of Moline, Illinois, spent a few days last week with his cousin, Lindy, Wolever at Talmage, Nebr. Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Stibal re turned Thursday from Lidger wood, North Dakota, where they were guests of Mrs. . Catherine Stilbal, mother of Dr. Stibal, and also visited other relatives and friends. Carl Schneider and son, Ren, are vacationing in Canada. Mrs. Helen Lanum and Bar bara, left Saturday for a visit with relatives in Chicago. Phone Booth Installed On Washington Ave. Ed Ernest, manager of the Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph Co., informs The Journal that a new telephone booth has been installed at the corner of Sev enth and Washington Ave.,' for the convenience of localites and travelers through Plattsmouth. - As an added service to visitors to the city and telephone users, installation of the booth was completed the latter part of the week.
