Kief ob served their golden wedding an niversary Sunday at their home on 806 Sth Ave. They were married in Pekin, Illinois, August 10, 1904, and came to Plattsmouth in 1915. Nine children were born to bless their home. They also have 4 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. All tho children were present to enjoy the picnic dinner held cn the lawn of the Kief home, cxecpt Arthur and his family, who live in Denver, Colorado. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tanner of Meza, Arizona, Mr. and Mro. Lcran J. Huddleston and daughters of Key Lango, Florida, Mrs. J. .W. DcRosa and sons -of Greeley, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Noel of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. August Kief and children, Pekin, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Morse and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. John C. Harvey and sons of Chariton, Icwa, Edgar and Franklin Kief, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Wilson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kief and sons, all of this city. Many friends called during the clay. She will teach in Kearney the coming year. Mr. Mills is a senior at Nebras- ka Wesleyan University, where he is majoring in music. His fra ternity is Phi Kappa Tau. Mrs. Floyd Zuver Is Guest of Unionite . Mrs. Fioyd Zuver of Western, ! Nebr., was a guest of Mrs. Charles Attebery Monday night. Following the close of the Le gion Auxiliary convention Tues day, Mrs. Zuver entertained Mrs. Attebery and Mrs. Harry Gobel man at luncheon at Hotel Fon tenelle. Former Residents Enjoy Reunion In Los Angeles Frank Kvapil, former Piatts mouth resident has returned re cently to his Omaha home after completing a teaching assign ment in Northern California. At the close of school June 18, Mr. Kvapil spent three weeks in the Los Angeles area where he enjoyed a very pleasant re union with former Plattsmouth residents now located in the Los Angeles area. At Wiliowbrook, Frank visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kratochvil and daughter. Evelyn, and Clinton. Calls were made on daughters of the Kratochvils and their fam ilies, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Blastic (Pat) -and daughters, Sandra and Sharon, of Lynwood, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd . Moss (Mary) and son, Gary, of South Gate, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee (Wilma) and 2 daughters, of Pomona. At a very delightful barbecue supper held at the lovely South Los Angeles home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Driver (Rose Sed lak), Beverly and Jimmie, Frank held a pleasant visit with the Drivers and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sedlak, Barbara and Mi cheal. Reminiscing of Plattsmouth in the earlier years predominated throughout the evening follow ing the supper. Cocktail hour preceded the evening's activities. The Kratochvils, Louis Sed laks and the Wilbur Drivers send greetings to all their friends "and relatives in Plattsmouth and vicinity. Arrives In France To Join Husband A letter from Mrs. Jerry Schwartz, the .former Patricia Gansemer, states that she and her son had arrived.- at Chau mont, France, on July 23. There they joined Mr. Schwartz, who has been stationed in that country for the past year. CALENDAR Tuesday, August 10 Theta Rho girls club will meet at the I.O.O.F. Hall on Tuesday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 10 Nehawka American Legion Auxiliary will hold their meet ing in the Nehawka Auditor ium, Tuesday, August 10. Reports of State Convention will be giv en. Dues for coming year will be accepted at this time. Tuesday, August 10 The Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet on Tuesday, August 10, at 8 p. m. at the VFW Club. Wednesday, Sept. 8 Social Workers Flower Club meeting will be held Sept. 3th, at the home of Mrs. Francis Ol on, north of Plattsmouth. " Phone 241 P WtilftSf HAPPY-GO-LUCKY CLUB The Happy-Go-Lucky Club of Eagle participated in the "Share the Fun" contest at Weeping Water on August 4. Their skit "Territorial Days" portrayed the life of a young couple, the proposal, the wed ding, a pioneer mother, and the Golden Wedding Day. The skit was in keeping' with the cen tennial and most of the cos tumes used were fifty years old or oiaer. Those who took pari were Faye Erskire, Marilyn Habel., Lo is Erskine, Janice Frohlich and Sharon Wall. 4-H Club held a noval achieve ment meeting at the Erskine residence. The members of the cooking club prepartd a seven o'clock dinner for their parents and leaders. They demonstrated their ability to plan a delicious menu, cook it, and serve it. The clothing members exhib ited the garments they made. The dinner was followed by a business meeting and a slumber Tarty. Sharon Wall, reporter CASS COUNTY COOKS Nehawka Cass County Cooks met at the Methodist church August 2, 1954. The flag salute was led by Caroline Miller and the 4-H by Twila Hicks. Gladys Nixon told about the trip to Omaha. She was on TV. The program that she was on was Uncle Tom. The roll call was our experi ence we enjoyed this year. The members judged cookies, bread, canning fruits or vege tables, pillow cases, tea towels, luncheon sets and aprons. Pearl Schultz helped us with the judging. The guests were Mrs. Whit tington and Mr. Merritt Dodson. Achievement Day will be' Aug sst 9. The 4-H camn is August 16-12-18. The members brought the re freshments and Mrs. Wolph, the drinks. Nehawka Cass County Cooks met at the Methodist church. The flajg salute was led by Caroline Miller and the 4-H pledge led- by Sharon Bell. Marilyn . Pollard, president,' presided at roll call, "What I Plan to do in My Cooking Proj ect." The minutes were read by Carline Miller, Secretary. Reports of Lincoln tour given by the 4-H girls, who with Poul try Club and the Maple Grove Ertensia Club toured Roberts Dairy, Gooch's Mill, Miller and Paines, Candy Kitchen and Fur Department and the State Capi tol June 17. The ceremony took place at Council Bluffs, Iowa, with Rev. Clair -J. Brown of the Baptist churuch officiating. Both of the above drove to Imperial, Nebr., and enjoyed a visit with the former's daughter and fam ily, the Fred Wilsons, at that city.
