Todd Phone 2441 John Eaton, who has been very ill for some time, is a little better from last reports. Mrs. Leda Dalyrimple, who is a surgical patient in St. Mary's hospital, is improving nicely, but it will be some time before she is able to come home. Mr. and Mrs. John McQuin of Omaha, attended services at the Methodist church in Union last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Patterson and children from Wichita. Kansas, spent Father's Day and I a few more days with his par i ents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Patter son. Mr. and Mrs Bob Eaton, Mrs. Desh and twin sons Billy and Bobby from Percival, Iowa, spent Father's Day at the John Eaton home. Mrs.' Earl Zorn came from St. Mary's hospital to the Robert Morton home to stay a few days before going on to her home in Weeping Water. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Finkle June 17th at ! the Auburn hospital. Jim is in Korea at the present time. Mr. and Mrs. John McQuin spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Mougey. After attending church Sunday morn ing they went to Auburn hos pital to see Mrs. Jim Finkle and baby son. Mrs. Harold Finch (Betty Up ton) of Dallas, Texas, sang a solo at church services at the Methodist church last Sunday morning. Mrs. Howard Snod grass accompanied her on the Hammond organ. Tcxans Arc Guests At Upton Home Mr. and Mrs. Earl Upton had guests in their home -the past week, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Finch of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. L. L. Loder and three small daugh ters of Muskeegan, Michigan. The ladies are daughters of the Uptons. Mr. and Mrs. Finch came last Tuesday but Mrs. Loder and daughters did not ar rive until Friday. Dr. Loder was to come later this week to ac company his family home next week. The Finches and Loders drove to Lincoln on Monday. Union Miss Freda Wiles received a set of steak knives recently from a seed company for sending in to them a report of having the first peas to use out of her gar den early in May. Little Cindy and Brady Ford son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ford, are spending this week with their grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mere dith. Mrs. Eva Becker, who has not been very well for some time, is feeling better each day and hopes to be able to be out soon. Union Out of Staters Guests at Union Mrs. L. A. Malone of Jackson ville, Missouri, and Mrs. T. A. Hester of Earle, Arkansas, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Comer this week. The two ladies are sisters of Mrs. Comer. Research workers for the Neb raska Heart association have found the heart rests two-thirds of every second. At this rate your heart would work only 8 hours each day or 4 months each year.
