Goodwi!l Role is Outlined To Rotarians 'A Chance for the Handicap ped," is the purpose of the Ne braska Goodwill Industries, ac cording to Darrell Coffey, as sistant secretary, in an address to the Plattsmouth Rotary Club Tuesday noon. l. Coffey explained that one of the chief functions of good will is to offer guidance and coun seling to handicapped people. Many handicapped people lose hope and are unaware of the possibilities of using the fac ulties, which, they have to make themselves useful members ' of society, he explained The organization also trains handicapped peop7e to do jobs within their ability. Social op portunities, character building, physical restoration :md employ ment are other series of the organization. He extended ar iration to Plattsmouth Deeply visit the plant founded in Omaha in 1933. About &0 handicapped persons are employed at the present time. Coffey explained that discard ed goods and materials are so licited, repaired and resold. Pro ceeds go for wages and equip ment, he explained. H. G. Eiting. England Leads Devils in NC Invitational John England's 5:03 mile, good for third place. . and perform ances of the relay teams, were bright spots in the Plattsmouth showing at the Nebraska City invitational track and field meet Tuesdav afternoon and evening. The Devils finished in 8th place in the ten team Class A bracket with 9 points. Falls City topped entries with 80 13 points. Aside from Falls City and North, strong A teams, the Class B teams were evenly spotted along the line. England picked up three points for Plattsmouth as he turned in the best mile perfor mance of his three year career. The Mile relay team finished fourth in the good time of 3:54 and the SSO-yard relay team held down fourth place in 1:41.6. Both performances, however, were well below the Devils -top performances. Dave Smith, Stuart Nielsen, Doug Rohlfs and Bob Carr ran the mile relay, while Don Con yers, Carev Rohlfs, Loren Topliff and Jim Graves ran the 880 re lay. Ed Eeenberger, Stanley Kozell, Terry Ernst and Eugene Dasher ran the two mile in 10:20.8 for fifth place, and Jim Graves - picked up the other point with a fifth spot in the low hurdles.
