-J J Schuetz, Otterstein Are Early Junior Marksmen Captains Jon Schuetz and JGerold Otterstein continued to pace Forty & Eight Junior Rifle men this week, but for the sec ond straight week watched Ron Eiserman's tears capture the weekly crown. Otterstein again turned in the top individual performance with 47 out of a possible 50 points. Shooting from the sit ting and kneeling positions, he missed the bull's eye only twice. Otterstein registered 23 of 25 points sitting and 24 out of 25 kneeling. Schuetz nearly duplicated the fete but came through with 46 points. He had 24 sitting and 22 kneeling. Ron Eiserman, who was third in competitive shooting Monday night, with 43, again saw his I team come through. Captain ; Eiserman's crew scored 191 points out of the possible 250 for j weekly honors. Avoco Girls Are County Volley Ball Ch amps Avoca Girls Set Enviable 2-Year Volleyball Record Avoca high school girl's volley ball team set an enviable rec ord during the 1951-52 season by posting a 23-1 record and win ning the county volleyball championship. Tutored by Coach Bill Mickel son, the Avoca beauties took the county crown for the second straight year. They are unde feated in conference play in two years. Hutton 22 15 37 Bulldozer To Prepare Lake Area Sunday The first step in cleaning up the lake at the Rod and Gun club grounds will get underway Sunday a ,club spokesman an nounced today. He disclosed that a bulldozer will be at the lake Sunday afternoon in preparation to damming off a neck of the lake. The Sunday activity has been described as the first step in cleaning up the lake area. Wives of Chamber members and mothers of the boys being hon ored are cordially invited to attend. 12 Man Sauad Will Enter In Triangular Meet Coach Merie bu-wari disclosed today that he will probably take J -man squaa to NeDraska City Fridav for the triangular track and field meet with the Pioneers and Falls City. Qualifying heats were run off in several events Tuesday and Wednesday. She scored 139 points in pacing the Cardi nals to the 23 wins. Others to show definite scoring ability were Barbara King, 124; Belva Johnson, co-captain, 11C; Eve lyn Freudenberg, co-captain, 101 D;elores Staack, 98, and De lores Meyer, 97. Strength of the Avoca team is clearly discernable in the overall scoring record. The county champions posted 970 points in the 24 games for an average of 40.6 points per game. Opponents in the meantime were held to a meager 270 points, or just 11 points a game. Twelve members of the team wen letters, according to Coach Mickelson. McBride has been named prin cipal speaker at the banquet which will honor members of the Plattsmouth high school basketball championship in 1932. McBride also spoke at a ban quet honoring the 1932 team, 20 years ago. Tickets are new available for the banquet which will be held at the high school gymnasium, Monday night at 6:30. Band Parents Club will prepare the Gregg McBride dinner, which will be served by the Pep Club. HighliEht of the evening will be awarding of trophies to three outstanding high school ath letes. Trophies will be presented i by Chamber President Bruce Gold to the outstanding back, : outstanding lineman and most I valuable basketball player.
