Mr. Niblcr iumic;t:; a lye :,-A ution for scrubbing floors and j walls. It can't be used on metal . utensils, however, because it; ' corrodes. Advise Mastitis Disinfectants LINCOLN Best disinfectants to use on milk utensils or cows' udders are chlorine or a solu tion containing what is known as quaternary ammonia. That's the answer Extension Dairyman C. W. Nibler of the University of Nebraska gave to a recent Query from a farm dairyman. He says there are many commercial products on the market which will give the Droper chlorine solution if used according to directions. The quaternary ammonia compound is not quite as com mon as chlorine but it has some advantages over cnlorine, ac cording to Mr. Nibler. Tips on Broody Hens Offered LINCOLN Broody hens should not be permitted to stay on th" nest overnight. If they're on the nest in the evening th'-y ' should be removed and placed in a marketing crate or in a broody coop. That's a tip from Extrnsion Poultryman Waldo F. Aubol of the University of Nebraska. He says the broody coop .should b light and well ventilated with, either a wire or slat floor. Mr. Aubol .suggests that feed for the hens should consist of pellets or mash, preferably in wet form. The hens should not have access to grain while in confinement. Hens, says Mr. Aubol. will re turn to production more quickly : with proper feed and care. ni ixmn IX WRICK Simonsbafh. England Two brothers.
