Mrs. Orion Baldwin Dies In Colorado Word was received here last week by Mrs. C. C. Baldwin of the death of her son's wife, Mrs. Orion Baldwin of Ft. Morgan, Colo. Mrs. Baldwin had been very ill and hospitalized for quite some time. Funeral serv ices were held at Olathe, Kan.. Thursday, July 12. Mrs. Homer Abrams of Denver and Mr. and Mrs. Melville Baldwin of Ft. Morgan arrived here Tuesday and with Mrs. Edward Dowler o f Omaha, and Miss Jessie Baldwin and Miss Maude Bald win drove to Olathe to attend the final rites of their sister-in-law. The relatives from Denver and Omaha returned here, spending the week end with Mrs. C. C. and Misses Jessie and Maude Baldwin. Weeping Water Woman's Association Meets Wednesday The Congregational Woman's Association met last Wednesday at the church with Mrs. Dave Patterson, Mrs. C. H. Spohn and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Sr., as hostesses. Mrs. Arthur Jones, another hostess, was not pres ent. Devotions were led by Mrs. E. E. Lorenson, and the lesson "Thy Will to Do in the Home land" was presented by Mrs. E. W. LaRue. Mrs. Homer Jame son, association president, pre sided at the business meeting which was very brief, as few matters of importance were up for discussion or decision. A farewell gift was presented to Mrs. George Sell, who with Mr. Sell, are leaving for their new home in Fremont soon. Mrs. E. F. Marshall was also remem bered with a farewell gift al though she was unable to be present at the meeting. Mrs. Marshall plans to make her fu ture home with members of her family in Omaha and Denver. Portions of a letter from Jane Molden were read to the group. Jane told of her recovery suffi cient to make the trip from the east back to Lincoln where the Molden family now reside. The dining room of the church was decorated with vases of pink rambler roses and other mid summer flowers and were brought by Mrs. Spohn. The hostesses served marachino cherry ice cream, pink frosted angel food cake and coffee. "Weepinir Water Mrs. John Albert and Mrs. E. W. LaRue were business motor ists Wednesday to Elmwood and Eagle. Thursday morning a sim ilar trip was made to Louisville and in the afternoon Murray was on the ladies' schedule. The Nehawka Enterprise has accepted the printing of the Cass county fair premium books for the coming fall fair. Glen Rutledge is the editor of the Enterprise. Mr. and Mrs. George Sell were scheduled to leave here Monday for their new home and business in Fremont. Mr. Sell conducted a closing out at half price sale last week. Wpmlne "Water Square Dance On Street Is Enjoyed Saturday evening found most of the square dancing couples of Weeping Water and surround ing community ; enjoying the street dance here. The project was schemed up by the Duwe Produce Company and was fi nancially sponsored by them and the local merchants. - Ae)ina Water The Ruth Circle will sponsor an ice cream social next Thurs day evening, July 19th at the Methodist church basement. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Hast ening and family returned here last Saturday evening from a ten day vacation trip in Missouri. Rev. and Mrs. John C. Pryor drove to Crete Sunday after noon taking with them Ann Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith, who will attend the Junior Pilgrim Fellowship group who are to meet at Doane College for the coming week. Ann is the seventh representa tive to go from Weeping Water, six senior members having at tended the Fellowship at Crete previously. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Grauer of Manhattan, Kan., were re cent guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. James Kivett and Mr. Kivett. The Grauers. it was learned, are not in the flooded area of Manhattan. Mr. and Mrs. George Reckard returned here last week after a Lookout Mountain, Tenn., trio and visiting with their son, C. F. Reckard and family. They re port the Tennessee Reckards as all well, and that they had a very fine trip and visit. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Towle of Torrance, Calif., who are visit ing with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Towle of Eagle were Wednes day visitors in Weeping Water. The Californians are former Weeping Water residents. Joe Bender spent Friday and Saturday of last week with his mother, Mrs. Bender and other Sutton relatives. Sterling Marshall left here Saturday afternoon for Lincoln, en route to Denver for a week's visit with his sister, Mrs. E. F. Klein.
