Response to roll call was what each member liked best in meats and the recipe for that meat. A discus sion was held on the possibilities of attending 4-H camp at Camp Harding. Most of the members expressed a desire to attend the three day camp. Phyllis Krogh, our new member, was the re freshment hostess and served the toast and white sauce dem onstration, with cookies and a fruit drink. Table courtesies were especially observed during the refreshment hour and much fun as well as information was gained as we noted the errors in dining manners, which are apt to pass unnoticed from day to day. These errors if continued are most likely to become habits which are objectionable in cor rect dining. u ff-ring Water Miss La Vonne Luhring spent last week end at Murray with the parents of her friend. It was dis covered that she had a ruptured appendix. Mrs. Sudduth re mained with her at the hospital the first night and spent most of the time with her until Wed nesday when she returned here. Weeninc Water Irish Youth To Western Nebraska Noel Bailie, who is North Ire land's farm youth in the Inter national Farm Youth Exchange program, left last Monday for a western Nebraska farm home. Mr. Bailie has been staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Oehlerking for the past few weeks. He spoke very apprecia tively of the friendly welcome he had received while in our community and thought the In ternational Youth Exchange a very fine program. He hoped during his short stay here in the States to make a west coast trip and to take an ocean trip. Weeping Water Association Will Have Donkey Game At a special meeting of the Weeping Water Athletic Asso ciation last Monday evening at the Legion hall it was decided to have a donkey softball game as one of the features of the Cass county fair. The proceeds of the game will be added to the Memorial Field funds. Wil son Bickford is to organize one team. E. A. Michelson, Jr.. was appointed by J. Marion Stone to manage the receipts from the concession stand. A. H. Jacob sen and Sterling Amick received a nod of appreciation and thanks for their cooperative work for the field. The Memo rial Field bleacher fund is growing slowly, there still re mains quite a sum to be raised. Robert Schumaker volunteered to see that necessary materials were on hand for temporary seating. Weeping Water Guests last Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Saxton were his parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Sax ton, Mary Jo and Mr. and Mrs. Norris Foster and two boys of Pawnee City. Mrs. Foster and Walter are sister and brother. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mutter and Mrs. Wil liam Mutter and Douglas Lee called at the Saxton home. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Har mon of Loup City were here for a brief visit Wednesday. Weeping- Water Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Wiles, Mrs. Ralph Keckler and Miss Corrine Wiles drove to Lincoln last Tuesday to get the latter's car from the garage where it was having repairs made. The car was badly damaged when a truck backed into it on Main street. Mrs. W. D. Lenker gives us the information that Joy Ann, her daughter, is employed in aj real estate and finance company in Stockton, Calif., as a filing clerk and typist. She says Joy Ann likes her work very much. Mrs. Raymond Lauritzen and two boys of Neleigh were here Sunday and Monday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Sr. Raymond was at tending a Rotary club meeting in Fremont and his family took advantage of the trip to come here for a short visit. Weeping Water BIRTH Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wiles of Ogden, Iowa, are parents of a baby boy born July 9, 1951. He has been named Andrew Thom as. Mr. and Mrs. Wiles, former Weeping Water residents in the Chilson district, are the paternal grandparents and Mrs. Andrew Olsen of this city is the great grandmother. Weeping Water BIRTH Mr. and Mrs. Keith Krecklow, former Weeping Water residents, now residing in Beatrice, are parents of a baby boy born July 3rd at St. Mary's hospital in Ne braska City. The new arrival has been named Robert Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kreck low of Manley are the paternal erandparents and Mr. and Mrs. William Whipple of Nebraska City are the maternal grandpar ents. Michelsen, Sr. Weeping ater BIRTH Reba Kay is a new arrival at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Friesel. She was born at the Bryan Memorial hospital July 2nd and tipped the scales at 7 lbs. and 7 oz. Weeping Water Mrs. Irving Patterson and Miss Mona Patterson returned here last Wednesday by car from the west coast, where the former s husband. Lt. Patterson, has been stationed since his reactivation into the navy services. Lt. Pat terson was scheduled for sea duty, and left for foreign duties last Sunday. Mrs. Walter Rasmussen and children went to Fortune, N. D , where her husband is stationed and employed. Their stay was of an indefinite nature. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ambler drove to Re"d Oak, Iowa, last Sunday afternoon. Installed for the coming year in the two lodges were A. H. Jacob sen and Mrs. A. H. Jacobsen as noble grands, R, S. The pleasant evening was ended with a lunch served by members of the Rebekah lodge. Friday, July 13, District Deputy Grand Patriarch, Howard Ras mussen and the installing staff went to Nebraska City where they installed the officers of the Odd Fellow Lodge. Weeping Water Mrs. T. V. Hubbell, pastor of the Christian church was a last Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Alton Sterling. In the afternoon her husband, Rev. T. V. Hubbell, was also a guest at the Sterling home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marshall of Omaha were here Saturday in connection with the auction sale of his mother's household effects. They returned to Oma ha that same evening, taking Mrs. Marshall with them for an indefinite stay at their home. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Patterson and Mrs. LaNeil Patterson and family drove to Osawatamie. Kansas, to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rector and family over the week end. James Ambler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ambler, stationed at San Diego, is to leave soon for San Francisco where he is to have a week's training in Sonor. The latter part of Aug ust he is to leave for New Port, R. I., where he will take train ing in submarine warfare. On the 19th of December he will be in dry dock at Norfolk, Va., and is scheduled for two months schooling at Pensacola, Fla. Jim hasn't had a leave since a year ago last Christmas. Dalene and Edwin Sterling at tended a birthday party for Merle Nannon last Saturday evening. Mrs. George Ellis and Miss Kathryn Ellis entertained last Thursday evening for Mrs. Em mor Marshall and her son. Ster ling, who is here for a week's visit with his mother.
