Kimball Marriage Of Miss I Granddaughters To Stella Patterson To i Visit Fricke Home Jack Stevens Told The marriage of Miss Stella M. ..Patterson and Jack D. Stevens-, son of Mrs. Ruth Sharp, both of Plattsmouth, has been announced by Mrs. Elsie Patter son of Plattsmouth, mother of the bride. The marriage took place June 16.-1951. at the home of the of ficiating minister, the Rev. L. B. Day at Marysville, Missouri. The bride who was graduated from Plattsmouth high school with the class of 1951, wore a white linen suit with red acces sories aitd a red rose corsage. Mrs. Duane Ashford of Skid more, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bride. She wore a blue suit with white accessories and a white carnation corsage. Mr. Ashford was best man. The newlyweds are making their home in Plattsmouth. Mr. Stevens is employed at the air base. - Mr. and Mrs. Stevens were en tertained at dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston and children, Lois and Gary, of Burlington Junction the fol lowing day. Mrs. Fritz Fricke returned home Monday after visiting at the home of her daughter and s'on-in-Iaw, Mrs. L. P. Allen and Mr. Allen in Ames. Iowa. Mrs. Fricke's two granddaughters ac companied her to Plattsmouth where they will vacation for a while. Western Journey Ends With Return To Home Here Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Fitch have returned home from an extend ed visit in the west. Mr. Fitch accompanied his son-in-law, C. T. Jewell of Holdrege, Nebr., to Long Beach where the Jewells have a new home and a large wholesale house. Mrs. Fitch re mained at McCook for a visit at the Merle Jones home. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fitch visited at Hol drege with the R. D. Fitch fam ily and at Brewster, Nebr., with Mr. and Mrs. John Turner. Kimball, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Kimball, also of Platts mouth, were married July 4, 1951, at 2 p. m. at the Method ist church in this city. Rev. Harola v. Mitchell of ficiated at the double ring cere mony in the presence of the immediate families. Mrs. J. Howard Davis played the organ during the ceremony. For her wedding the bride chose a red linen suit with white accessories and a white rose corsage. Miss Phyllis Bourck, maid of honor, wore a blue silk print dress, navy accessories and a white carnation corsage; William Brookhouser served as best man. Both the groom and best man were attired in blue business suits and wore white carnation boutonnieres. Reid announed the engagement of their daughter, Miss Joann Reid, to Matthew G. Herold, Jr., at a reception at their home in Washington, D. C, Saturday, July 7. Mr. Herold is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew G. Herold, Sr., of Scarsdale, New York, and Westport, Conn. - He is the grandson of Mrs. Henry Herold of Plattsmouth. Miss Reid was graduated from Mount Holyoke College last year after studying during her jun ior year with the Smith College group at Sorbonne in Paris, the University of Geneva, Switzer land, and the Institute of Grad uate International studies in Geneva. She is with the Insti tute of International Education in New York. Mr. Herold graduated from Yale University in 1948 and is studying at Harvard Law school. He is an editor of the "Harvard Law Review." Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rathe Observe 25th Anniversary Picnic Supper Honors Korean Veteran Tuesday Cpl. Charles Painter, who re cently returned from active duty in the Korean theater, was hon ored at a picnic supper on the lawn at the home of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Painter and family Tuesday evening, July 10. Everyone attending came with we" filled baskets of food. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rhylander, Con nie and Kennie. Mrs. Noma Mc Carthy and Mary Lou. Navy Mothers Plan Welfare Work Navy Mothers Club, 680, met at the home of Mrs. Clarence Cotner, with Commander Edith Akeson presiding. Plans were made for welfare work and an article on Americanism was read by Chairman Margaret Covert. The August meeting will be a family picnic at Garfield Park. The meeting closed with a pray er for peace. Refreshments were served and a social hour followed. ST. Margaret Niday Weds Omahan Miss Margaret Niday and Paul Dudrefeldt were married Friday July 5, 1951. Miss Niday is the daughter of Mrs. Mary JJiday of Union. Mr. Dudrefeldt is from Omaha. After a wedding trip through northern United States and Canada, the newlyweds will make their home at Omaha, where both are employed. A reception was held in th church basement. On Sun- day afternoon, July l, at ine Brown Park pavilion in Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Rathe were honored 'guests from two until six o'clock, in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary. The anniversary observance was planned by Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carlson and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rathe, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Rathe. On June 30th, 1926, Alice Todd and Ernest Rathe were married at the home of the bride's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Todd in Union, with Rev. O. A. Ran dall officiating. The 40 guests at the 25th cele bration were welcomed in the large reception room. A lace covered table was attractively aranged with two large bouquets of gladioli and red roses, gifts of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Todd and Mrs. L. G. Todd. Recorded music of favorite selections of the bride and groom were played ; during the afternoon, bpeciai piano solos were given by Wil liam Todd and Nancy Todd, cousin and niece of the bride. Later in the afternoon, the guests were invited to the din ing room for refreshments. July 3, 1951. Rev. Wm. Berger performed the seven o'clock double ring ceremony in the presence of 325 guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Emshoff of Avoca. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mather of Nehawka. The church was decorated with yellow and white garden flowers as Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Carsten, accompanied by Mrs. Henry Maseman, . sang too selections. The bride wore a gown of White nylon, styled with a high i round neckline and a ruffle of ! chantilly lace forming an off-! shoulder effect. The full skirt' ended m an aisle-wide train. Matching lace trimmed the skirt and formed a bow at the side. Her fingertip veil of illusion was lace-trimmed and held in place by a tiara of seed pearls. She wore a rhinestone necklace, a gift of the groom, and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses. Miss Eleanor Nutzman was maid of honor and wore a light blue net over satin.
