Anticipating this diffi culty, Mr. Arundel's bid on the policies in controversy, was ac companied by the following let ter now on file in the County Clerk's office: March 1st, 1949 Hon. County Board of Commis sioners Cass County, Flattsmouth, Nebraska. Gentlemen: I herewith submit for your approval Standard Workmen's Compensation and Employers Liability Policy No. 667,473 and Schedule Public Liability Insur ance Policy No. 385,150, same be ing renewals of policies which expire March 2nd, 1949. In connection with the Sched ule Liability policy, I wish to advise that we have schedule rated this policy, and it has been granted a total of 30 per cent discount from manual rates which is a large saving to the county. In regard to the Workmen's Compensation policy, we re ceived an experience rating from the Rating Bureau and a 12.6 per cent credit was develop ed. In addition to this discount, our usual 10 per cent filed dis count is granted which will again represent quite a saving j the county. The taxpayers of Cass Coun y have been told that their :oads and bridges could not ven be maintained, not to men ion thought of badly needed new construction because of a shortage of county funds. In iew of this critical situation I m sure that such taxpayers, many of whom cannot get off .ieir places at times due to im passable roads and washed-out bridges will more than appre ciate and approve your taking dvantage of the savings out ined above. The Employers Mutual Cas ualty Co.. and this office have completely fulfilled every obli gation required by law in hand ing compensation and liability nsurance matters during the oast year. One year ago when you accepted our Workmen' Compensation policy I told you hat just as soon as we receiv d an experienced rating on Cass County from the rating ureau we would amend our olicy in accord with their find ings. On April 23rd. 1948 I de ivered to you an amended c-hedule giving Cass County an idditional 15.7 credit. I am confident that the poli cies submitted herewith will igain effect substantial savings o the taxpayers of Cass Coun y in the form of reduced pre niums compared with any other policies submitted, which sav ngs could then be used to good -dvantage on our roads and bridges. In the event the policies here with submitted are low and you 'ward the insurance at a high 'r figure I will request a com plete and public explanation of 'our reasons for so doing. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Don J. Arundel. Death of Mrs. Chas. Cummins at Omaha Mrs. Charles D.
