Funeral Service for Mont Shrader Key T r -i f Funeral services voih Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Hobson Funeral Home at Weeping Water, Nebraska for . Mont Shrader, who passed away ; Monday night, March 7. j The deceased had been in fail ing health for several months, a and was taken to the Lutheran' - hospital in Omaha, with pneu monia, on Friday evening, March 4th. Services were conducted by Rev. Homer L. TDickerson of Ne ' braska City, former minister of " the Louisville Methodist church. jjMiss Maude Moulton. sang "Jesus ISavior Pilot Me," and "Safe in V the Arms of Jesus." Interment was in L,ewiston cemetery, near " Murray. Pallbearers were Gerald Shra " der. Earl Wolfe, Bruce Cook, Roy Chriswisser. Jr., Don Rhoden and ' Elmer Yardley. Mont Shrader was born on February 20, 1890, at Murray. Nebraska, end died March 7, 1949 at the age of 59 years and 15 days. ; He was married on October 10, 1927 to Miss Dorothy Lewis of , Nehawka. To this union three sons and four daughters were t born. He was the sonof the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shrader, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Shrader and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wolfe, pioneers ofCass county. His early years "ere spent in the vicinity of Murray and Ne hawka, where he engaged In farming, and later in the Livery business at Weeping Water. In 1918, he entered the armed forces, serving his county for six months. Since then he has been engaged in farming and at the time of his death resided near Louisville. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Charles O., Vince and Jack; four daughters, Jaunita, Wanda, An geline and Dixie Ruth, all home; two brothers, Oscar, of Murray and George, cf San Jose, Cali fornia; a nephew, Gerald Shra der, Weeping Water; four neph ews and two nieces of California; an uncle, Homer Shrader, Mur ray; five aunts, Mrs. Lulu Wolfe, Mrs. Tony Klimm, Mrs. Georgia Creamer, Mrs. Alex Rhoden and Mrs. Alma Yardley; many other relatives and a host of friends. Stricken Lincoln Family Known Here Word was received here Wed nesday of the tragic fate of members of the dimmer family, residents of Hallam, Lincoln sub urb, in messages to members of the Curtis Hobbs family. Margaret Joan Zimmer. 16 year old, Hallam high school senior, died on the way to the St. Elizabeth hospital at Lincoln as the result of being overcome by monoxide gas that had placed the other members of the family in most critical condition. The condition of the family was revealed Tuesday morning when Mrs. Zimmer called the operator at the Hallam exchange and asked for help for the fam ily. Medical aid was called and Dr. Hanigan gave medical aid to the family and returned to his office. When he returned at 6:45 a. m. he found them all un conscious. They were removed from the house and placed in cars and taken to Lincoln. Examination of the house dis closed that the flue was com pletely stopped with sand, soot and other debris and the elbow of a vent leading from the fur nace to a chimney also was clogged. PAGE SEVEN THE PLATTSMOUTH, NEBRASKA, SEMI-WEEKLY JOURNAL a son was notified of the plight of the family and Mrs. Zimmer, formerly Ileen Hobbs of this city, called her parents, Mj:. and Mrs. Curtis Hobbs at Plattsmouth. Obituary of Mrs. J. H. Weichel, Alvo Stella B. Linch was born Aug ust 22, 1870 at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, coming to this state at the tender age of two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Linch and seven brothers and sisters, Kate Davis, Philip shall, Eva Rouse, Frank Linch and Ed Linch, who have all pre ceded her in death. The family first located in old Mt. Pleasant and later moved to the Nehawka community where they resided until moving to a farm near Alvo in the year 1872. j She was united in marriage j to John H. Weichel, March l. 1888. To them were born two sons, John Clinton and Harry M. Mr. Weichel preceded her in death on October 13, 1913 and John Clinton died in infancy. Harry M. now resides on the familv farm near Alvo. until ner uea.ui sue nao an active member of the Methodist church of Alvo and interested in many community activities. Death came to Mrs. Weichel on March 4, 1949 at the age of 78 years, five months and twleve days following a short illness, death coming to her while seat ed in a rocker at the home of her son. She is survived by the son, Harry M., four grandchildren, Thelma Howe, Alvo; John V. Weichel, Alvo; Iona Brenning, Denver, Colorado; and Junior Weichel, Alvo. Eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends survive. The United States has 45 per cent of the world's coal supply. The Soviet Union has 27 per cent. Mrs. Harry Walters and Mrs. J. R.
