-JL Death of Former Louisville Man The death of Charles A. Tay lor, 72, former resident of Louis ( I ville, occurred on Sunday at ' Omaha at the family home. 1205 Vi South 11th street. Mr. Taylor was well known in the Louisville community where h spent his younger years and the many friends have regretted to learn of his passing. He is survived by one daughT ter, MrS. Taylor, Plattsmouth; Thomas Edward Taylor, California and Floyd Taylor of Chicago. The funeral services were held cn Wednesday afternoon at the John A. Gentleman mortuary at Omaha. Attending the services ffom this city were Mr. and Mrs. Wes ley Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Taylor. VISIT IN IOWA Mr. and Mrs. Louis Naeve and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wilson were in Schliswig, la., Sunday. This is the old home of Mr. and Mrs. Naeve and also the birthplace of Mr. Wilson. While there they met many of the old friends. W. H. Woolcott 111 At Family Home W. H. Woolcott, one of the ac tive leaders in the Eagles lodge and the Knights of Columbus, has been confined to his home for the greater part of this week. Mr. Woolcott has not been in the best of health for the past year and the many friends regret to learn that he is again confined to his home bv illness. Fat Cattle Steady Monday Omaha; Feeders Go Lower Fat cattle sold steady, stockers and feeders steady to SI. 00 low er, hogs steady to 50c higher, and fat lambs 25c higher Mon day on the Omaha market. Sup ply topped the 42,000-mark, giv ing Omaha No. 1 rank among the major markets for the eighth successive Monday. The cattle run at 23,000 also ranked No. 1, and was mostly Western; the sheep run was nearly all-Western. The steady trade on fat cat tle was the first other than low er in seme three weeks. Price range was S18.C0-S37.00. Cows Monday sold weak to 25c off, S13.50-$22.00. Beef bulls sold to S21.00, veal calves to $27. Year ling stockers sold steady to 75c lower, and 2 and 3-year-old feed er steers 50c-$1.00 lower, some weighty feeder steers off more than Si. 00. Yearlings ranged from $22.00-29.00, most feeder steers $23.00-$27.00, a part lead of 2's at $29.00. . Choice steer calves, to S32.00, were steady, others steady to $1.00 lower. Hogs opened steady to 50c high er, the top $26.00, but clcsed with the advance largely lost. Sows reached $24.50. Fat lambs moved a quarter higher to $24.75, with a few Cheviots $25.00. Slaughter ewes were 25-50c off at $3.00 $9.00. Feeder lambs were weak to 50c lower at $20.00-$22.50. J Breeding ewes went to the coun try at S9.50-S10.50. Civilian Air Patrol Holds Fine Meeting Tuesday evening the Civil Air Patrol had their weekly meet ing. 'The main activity was the using of field telephones. Every one is invited to come and take rsart in these varied programs. Near the end of the meeting" the group worked on braiding, mak ing belts, and pot holders. On October 31, at 5 p.m. the C.A.P. is giving a picnic. Anyone who wishes to attend this picnic is welcome and to meet at the high school at five. Mrs. Robert Cappell Goes to Topeka, Kan. Mrs. Rcbert Cappell. who has not been in the best of health for some time, is spending a few days at the S. B. A. hospital at Topeka, Kansas. It is expected that she will spend a short time under observation before her re turn heme. Mr. Cappell accom panied his wife to Tcpeka and was with her a pari of the time during the stay. Bryant, local Dodge and Ply mouth dealer, was at Omaha in company with Walter Bryant and Elmore Brink, of the local agency, to attend the meeting held at the Hotel Fontenelle cf the dealers and service men of this section of the state. The meeting was dealing with the sales and service activities of the motor companies and brought to the' sessions many of the experts in the various lines of activity. The group enjoyed the. fine dinner party that was arranged by the company for the enter tainment of the guests and from the talks given a great deal of valuable information was derived. &2 HE Good Will Train A meeting will be held on Monday evening, October IC'h at the American Legion hall at Weeping Water. This meeting will be for the purpose of plan ning the county organization cf the Good Will Train fcr Euro pean Relief. Francis, grandson, Douglas Eiting, were in the city over the week end to visit with Mr. Eiting's brother, B. H. Eiting and family. The visit was one much enjoy ed by the members of the fam ily and especially by Mr. B .H. Eiting who has been qui'e ill fcr the past several days. Father-Son Banquet Held At Avoca Church The annual father and son dinner was held Tuesday even ing at the parlors of the Congre gational church at Avoca with a large number of the fathers and sons being present to enjoy the event. As the members of the party arrived they were presented with boutonniere in honor of the event. The dinner was very much ap preciated and the ladies had pro vided a delightful repast com prising: Meat Loaf Mashed Potatoes Gravy BaKed Beans Cabbage Slaw Rolls Jelly Pickles Pie Ccffee The welcome to the sons was given by Clair Wilbur with the response on behalf of the sons by Arthur Norris. The invocation was offered by Rev. Hadsell. During' the evening a number of prizes were given and among these were: father with the larg est feet, Paul Straub; oldest father, Silas Munn; youngest son, Lee Dumke. During the evening program Mr. Kirtley of Nebraska City, showed' pictures cf his recent trip to Mexico that were very interesting.
